New TLC Reality Show: Provocative Preachers’ Wives

Proverbs 31:10-12:

10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.  11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.  12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

The church visible has become a cesspool.

TLC is introducing a new reality show called “The Sisterhood.”  With a Real Housewives of Atlanta feel, the producers of the show will follow around five Atlanta-area preachers’ wives as they engage in behavior that is worldly and wanton – all for the sake of reality television.

Now, you could look at this and suspect TLC’s producers are attempting to be sacrilegious and controversial by developing a concept that centers on “church.”  There’s an element of truth to that, but what do you expect from the world?  They have no loyalty to the church of our Lord Jesus Christ, nor would they having a problem desecrating it.  The bigger picture here is the fact that we have the type of church today where preachers and their wives are WILLING to be a spectacle and bring reproach on the Lord. Were the church following the clear guidelines of Scripture and our preachers dedicating themselves to pursuing a life of holiness and separation from the world, smutty shows like this wouldn’t even be possible, much less be an issue.

The description of the show is as follows:

The Sisterhood is set to begin airing on January 1st on the popular Learning Channel, which often features reality shows of various types. The broadcast follows five women that are married to preachers in one of the largest cities in the Bible Belt, who often dress provocatively, giggle about sexual matters with their friends and husbands, and live on the edge in a variety of ways.

“She’s fit and fabulous and her wardrobe leaves little to the imagination,” reads the bio for Tara Lewis, a certified fitness instructor who recently moved to Atlanta from Los Angeles after her husband took a job at a church in the area.

“Tell the devil he’s a liar!” Lewis announces in the preview, while wearing skin-tight shorts and a t-shirt that she pulled up to expose her midriff.

“Did you get breast implants, too?” asks Christina Murray over dinner with the women, whose husband Anthony leads Oasis Family Life Church.  (Online Source)

Not exactly Proverbs 31 women, are they?

Amazing what passes for entertainment today, isn’t it?

Underground Gay Group Emerges at Christian College

Be careful, I’m about to be sarcastic…

I tell you what Biola University should do…they should either toss the Bible, rewrite it, or completely disregard it all together because those homosexual students feel threatened!

That’s what you would really have to do to change Biola University’s stance on homosexuality, because regardless of what the underground gay community at Biola think, it’s God’s Word Biola is following, not man’s; and if the student population who is guilty of this uprising were truly honest with themselves, they would admit it is not Biola they are rebelling against, but God Himself.

Please pray for the leadership at Biola.

Gay Activists Mull “Organized Terrorism” Against Christians

Pro-Family Leaders Targets of Death Threats

Lynchburg, VA – In the wake of the horrific act of Islamic domestic terrorism at Fort Hood Texas, it has been learned that militant homosexual activists recently made similar online postings to those of Nidal Malik Hasan, threatening additional acts of terrorism against Christians.

In response to Maine’s natural marriage victory last Tuesday, “gay” activists have directly threatened to retaliate with “terrorism” and the “killing” of Christians on the popular homosexual activist “JoeMyGod” Weblog. Liberty Counsel notified the FBI which is investigating the matter. As of this morning, the offending blog entry had been removed. (captured version of post will be available at

Matt Barber, Liberty Counsel’s Director of Cultural Affairs, issued a statement shortly after Maine’s marriage victory (posted with additional commentary at In reaction to that statement, blog poster “ColdCountry” wrote: “Will someone please give me a gun?” Poster “Fritz” warned: “What I fear is that once gay and lesbian people give up hope of achieving equality through nonviolent means, there will be radicals who will begin to hunt down haters… All it will take is a small group of radical zealots who are willing to kill for their cause.”

In reply to Fritz, “tex” posted: “Fritz….you say this like it’s a bad thing? Maybe a bit of well organized terrorism is just what we need.”  Read more…

America and God’s Judgment

Here is a very insightful article by Brannon Howse of Worldview Times.  Please click the source link to visit the site and read the article in its entirety.

1-judgmentI believe America is at a dangerous tipping point  for receiving God’s judgment for two reasons. The first reason is America’s withering support for the nation of Israel. This began under the Bush Administration but has rapidly advanced under the Obama Administration. In early June of 2009, President Obama traveled to Egypt to deliver an address to the Muslim world. In his speech President Obama cited what he called the holy Koran numerous times. This is the very book that calls for Muslim to murder the Jews as well as Christians.

Days before his trip to the region President Obama declared that Iran has the right to a nuclear facility for energy. Why do they need a nuclear facility for energy when they have all that oil? We all know they want a nuclear bomb. Obama has clearly thrown Israel under the bus; by weakening Israel’s national security and making them vulnerable to a nuclear strike by Iran. In addition he has increased Iran’s threat to America’s national security. Since 1998, Iran has been practicing shooting a missile off a cargo ship. If one missile, with a nuclear war head, was launched from international waters over the United States and detonated only a few miles above the center of our nation, an electronic magnetic pulse could very easily put America back in the mid 1800s technology wise by damaging vital electrical devices such as America’s power-grid and our military defenses. Military experts and scientists have testified before the U.S. Congress and declared that the only way our enemies could bring us down militarily is through an EMP bomb.

In Genesis 12:3 God says that He will curse those that curse Israel and bless those that bless Israel. I believe one of the only reasons God’s wrath has been delayed for America is because of our support for Israel and now America has almost completely withdrawn this support and I believe it puts us at great risk for being cursed by God.

The second dangerous national tipping point that is inviting God’s wrath is found in the book of Nahum. The prophet Nahum shows up in Nineveh about 150 years after Jonah to tell the nation that God is not going to give them the chance to repent this time but His wrath is going to come upon them. Why? Because in Nahum 1:11 we read that the people had begun to “plot evil against the Lord.” Rejecting God is one thing; plotting evil against him is the tipping point for national judgment.  In fact in Nahum 3:19 we read, that their national “injury has no healing, your wound is severe.” One translation says, “Your wound is incurable.”  (Online Source)

Homosexuality and the Lutheran Church

In a post at A Little Leaven entitled, “ELCA Gives God the Middle Finger,” blog owner Chris Rosenborough wrote:

The nation’s largest Lutheran denomination (the ELCA) said Friday that gay and lesbian clergy who are in monogamous, committed relationships can be called to serve as pastors and church leaders in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Make no mistake about it, the ELCA’s vote to lift the ban on homosexual clergy is nothing less than outright rebellion against God and His word.

Yet God’s word could not be clearer.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10   Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Pray that God would grant the ELCA repentance for their rebellion. Even now, God is offering His forgiveness for this egregious collective sin.

I usually only post a snippet of someone else’s work, but his post was so dead on that I wanted to post it in it’s entirety.  (Please click the links above to visit his blog.)

I have one question – is there really any debate about ordaining homosexual clergy?  Never at any other time has there been such ambivalence about homosexuality among those who call themselves the church as there is now.  As a believer who holds to the Biblical world view, there is no discussion where homosexuality is concerned.  It’s immoral and perverted.  If a clergyman declares himself to be gay, as Bible believers, we know he is unrepentant, still in his sins, and unable to lead the flock of God.  Therefore, there is no option – he doesn’t even teach sunday school, much less pastor!

This is evidence that those who suppose they are in the church (the body of Christ), truly aren’t.  If they loved God, they would retain knowledge of Him in their hearts, and follow His Word.  And, His Word has said that “those who do such things will NOT enter in.”  How hard is that to understand?

I pray there would be a mass exodus out of the ELCA because of this decision.  I fear there won’t be, but I sure hope there is.

Update:  Thankfully, not all Lutherans are accepting this perversion.  Read an article entitled, “Smaller Lutheran Church Bodies Reaffirm Bible’s Stance on Homosexuality.”

Michael Jackson: Will It Ever End?

I’m a news junkie.  I admit it.  I got it from my mother, so you might say I got it honestly.  I feel it’s important to keep up with current events, especially in light of Bible prophecy as it relates to the days in which we live.  But, what passes for news nowadays is pathetic, really.  It isn’t really news any more – it’s like we’ve been watching nearly two weeks of Entertainment Tonight.

I called my mother a few hours ago and asked her if she was going to watch Michael Jackson’s memorial service.  She snorted and said, “I don’t have a choice!!!”  Unless you withdraw into a coccoon, you won’t be able to escape the Jackson press coverage today…or maybe tomorrow…or maybe the next day.

I’m sitting here looking at the news, and with unrest in Iran, North Korea blustering and snorting at the world, a war in Iraq still ongoing, soldiers being killed in Afghanistan, President Obama’s visit to Russia, Israel possibly preparing to strike Iran in the near future, and a host of other important developments throughout the world, the one that trumps them all is the death of Michael Jackson. I’m not surprised by this, but I am sickened.

I was watching the news when word came that Michael Jackson had been taken to the hospital, and that he had ultimately died. When his death was confirmed, I looked at my mother and said, “This is all you’re going to hear about for weeks.” I knew it would be overblown. I knew many from across the world would scramble to memorialize him. I wasn’t even surprised when his music sales went through the roof. But, what angers me is not just the massive press coverage of Jackson’s death, but the hypocrisy displayed by the media.

Before his death, Michael Jackson was branded a weirdo, and some even called him a pedophile. While I’m not arguing the point of his guilt or innocence one way or another, what I am saying is that the media in this country tripped over themselves to gather like vultures to pick him apart during his child molestation trial, but when he died, he was a media darling. To be fair, not all media can be indicted with the charge of deifying Jackson, but they are all guilty of saturating the airwaves with constant coverage of his death.

One thing America is known for is its obsession with celebrities. When someone does something good like donating their time to help at the local food bank, it goes unnoticed, but when a celebrity goes out in public without their underwear, we hear about it incessantly. I know the names and faces of countless celebrities despite the fact that I never watch their movies or listen to their music. How? The news, even world news, is saturated with them – their comings, their goings, who they’re sleeping with, where they go to party – and there is no escape.

I was a child of the eighties. No one has to tell me about Michael Jackson or Thrillermania because I lived through it. I lived through the big hair and spandex days of the hair bands, and Madonna’s pornographic assault on society. Christian mothers allowed their children to indulge in the preoccupation of pop culture, and most defended it by saying, “It’s just entertainment.” But, hasn’t the church been entertained enough? Hasn’t America’s Christian youth been desensitized enough by entertainment that is neither spiritual nor Scriptural? Exposing youth to the ungodliness of pop culture distracts them from the Scriptural precepts of living a Godly life. Jesus told us to learn of Him and walk in His ways, but when our churches use worldly concepts instead of Christly ones to reach the youth and the unchurched, is it any wonder the church looks nothing like Christ Jesus, but looks like the world instead?  You look like what you mold yourself after; those molded after Christ look like Christ, and those molded after the world look like the world.  The ending result is that our churches are producing worldly youth, not Godly ones.

I will not allow myself to be entertained by anything that my Heavenly Father finds offensive. I don’t find that entertaining, I find it sinful. Michael Jackson will be laid to rest either today, tomorrow, next week, or who knows when. But, the damage is done. This isn’t Michael Jackson’s fault. The obsession was already there. This insanity is the evidence of the spiritual rot in our country, and our world. It will not end here, and will continue long after Jackson has been buried.

People always need their idols.
