Spin Control: Sorry for the Hassle

In responding to the news article exposing his new mansion, Steven Furtick, pastor of Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC, apologized to his congregation for all the hassle they have gone through because of his taste for fine things.

It sounds like the congregation is completely behind their pastor and feel he deserves to live like one of the celebrity elite, because after hearing his speech they gave him a standing ovation.

I’m just wondering… what is the need for such a big house?  Would it be impossible to live comfortably in a house one-half that size?  Yes?  No?  Don’t care?  I dunno.

Oh, come on, Chrystal. Don’t you think God wants you to live in a house whose cost exceeds that average LIFETIME income of most people on the planet? Don’t you think God wants to bless him with that mansion, maybe a nice BMW or Mercedes as well? I can’t imagine God would want any of us not to live like that. Fact is, since we aren’t living in houses like that and driving cars like that, surely we must be living in sin. [pass the vomit bag] (did you sense any sarcasm in my post?)

Talk about fleecing the sheep. IF they are duped enough to put up with this hogwash, they get what they deserve. This money should have been spent paying medical bills for those who had to suffer a great disease, or some other such more noble purposes. Not to feed the greedy lusts of a so called “pastor”.

Hi Chrystal– stumbled upon your very insightful blog from March 24, 2010, “Members Of Congress Receiving Death Threats”.

Let’s just say, the Obamacare/Affordable Health Care Act fiasco is seriously hitting the fan!

Geez, almost four years later…talk about “being on the money”. K
