T. D. Jakes Celebrates 35-Years at Star-Studded Event

T. D. Jakes just celebrated 35-years of ministry at a star-studded, red-carpet event, that is bound to raise a few eye brows… mine included.

Among the guests to help Jakes celebrate was Playboy model, Maria Leanna (click here for a picture of Leanna arriving and walking the red carpet), and Oprah Winfrey (click here for a photo of Winfrey speaking at Jakes’s anniversary event).

Wow!  With all the glitz and glamour, you would never know it was a preacher who was being honored.  You would think it was a celebrity or something.

I’m so glad Scripture says, “I Jakes, if Jakes is lifted up, he’ll draw all men to Myself.”  Wait… it doesn’t say that, does it?!?!  No, what it says is (Jesus speaking):

John 12:32:

“And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.” (emphasis mine)

I wonder if James MacDonald was on the guest list?  Sorry, just had to throw that in there.

If you were to create a parody site of Christianity today and try to make stuff up in jest – you couldn’t do better than the real stuff going on. Sometimes I just shake my head and wonder how much worse it can get before Jesus returns. Will He find faith on the earth?

When the world embraces you, look out..” If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” John 15:9
T.D. Jakes proves he is a wolf by the fact that the world embraces him and loves him as their own. If he were preaching the true gospel, the world would be offended, Oprah would have nothing to do with him.

As for James MacDonald being there, why stop there? Why not throw in Ronald McDonald as well? After all, this does seem to be a bit of a circus and a showy, star-studded event.

I hope he enjoyed the adulation and praise, that he took note of his achievements and revelled in the company of his peers [ that paid $ 150.00 for the priveledge], that perhaps he stopped by a mirror and took in the granduer of his Armani suit and the gold dripping off his fingers, because for Bishop T D Jakes , this is probably as good as it gets.

T.D. Jakes is a modalist and a heretic. The sad part to me is that there is a larger issue at hand here–how churches (Evangelical and otherwise) tend to be drawn by the Celebrity model of ministry of Rock Star Pastors and Hipster Christianity. Sad.
