Benny Hinn: Video Proof He’s a Charlatan

The more things change, the more they stay the same.  You would think that if it were truly the Holy Spirit slaying people, they would not be able to stand under His power.  But if it’s only the power of suggestion they’re falling under, that power can suddenly be broken if you’re yanked up out of the floor and pushed off stage.

In the video below, you will see people who behave like trained seals.  They approach Hinn and mistakenly believe they are going to get zapped by the Holy Spirit.  When he touches them or waves his arms, they fall on cue.  But they don’t stay down because Hinn’s ushers are jerking them up off the floor and are very brusquely slinging them towards the edge of the stage.  It’s quite a spectacle to watch!

The following video is from a Miracle Service in Atlanta, Georgia.  Some of the unscriptural things you will see in this video are as follows:

  • Benny Hinn swinging his designer jacket around to supposedly distribute the raw anointing of the Spirit.
  • Hinn swinging his arms as if he possesses the anointing of the Holy Spirit and can release it to people by merely waving his arms.
  • Really bad singing.  (Okay, that’s not unscriptural, it’s just really painful to listen to.)
  • Hinn pushing some people down.

At 4:20 into the video, Hinn lays hands on a couple and the lady touches him.  He points at the usher and shouts, “Don’t let them touch me!”  (My guess is, he professes to be so full of the anointing he can’t be touched.  I’ve heard this from other Charismatic teachers.)

If you’ll notice, Hinn takes out a tissue and wipes his nose several times throughout the video.  Could it be that he has a wee bit of a cold?  If so, how could that be if all this Holy Spirit anointing is working in him so strongly he can swing his arms and sling it all over the place?

It’s not hard to spot a charlatan, you just have to pay attention.  If those who follow Hinn would be truly honest and add up all the inconsistencies, they would see that nothing, absolutely nothing about this man adds up.  But, it’s hard for many people to admit they’ve been scammed.

Edited to add:  The video below was recorded on April 2, 2010.

I’d like to find out how many people would still fall backwards if the so-called “catchers” would step away.
    My guess is not many.

What a farce! God have mercy on the sheeple.

Question. Do you know the date of this video? The reason I ask is that I thought Hinn gave up the coat waving years ago. Didn’t Jack Hayford counsel him on this matter?

So, is coat waving back in play?

…and thru it all, Benny Hinn is exalted, and Jesus Christ becomes his puppet master.

We all know Mr.Hinn is a fraud, and a conman extraordinaire ; and he’s been playing this game so long, that I trully believe he believes he actually is one of God’s super-anointed. Nothing could be farther from the truth, as he continues to elevate himself, preach hypocrisy, and ripoff millions so he can continue to live a lavish lifestyle.

Because of Mr. Hinn, sadly, I can see how millions upon millions will be easily decieved when the anti-Christ makes his appearance and commands the worship of all, thru decieving signs and wonders. Never has it been more important to know what your Bible says.

Its also amazing to see how mind control asserts itself, and how a sort of mass hypnotism has an effect of all those present. What would happen if, say, someone like me got up on stage and wouldnt submit to Hinn’s ‘ laying on of the hands ‘ ? Well, I’d probably be quickly ushered off, seen as a malcontent or worse.

A useful video (there’s also a part 2 on YouTube) as it’s recent, dated April 2, 2010. It shows that Benny Hinn hasn’t changed and is still doing the same things that he’s always done. Let me make one thing clear: if a professional hypnotist went to that event, they would say that Benny Hinn is a master hypnotist and is just doing the same things that they do every day. No ifs, no buts, no doubt whatsoever. There’s nothing “miraculous” about it, and we must be careful not to describe it as supernatural or demonic. The fact is that Benny Hinn is nothing more than a stage hypnotist masquerading as a christian minister, and he does it simply to make money. What a disgrace to Jesus.

I was in a church that was seeing a beautiful visitation of the Spirit of God. The Pastor and his wife were humble and seeking the Lord. Unfortunatly, the leadership of the church went to a Benny Hinn event. While they were there the pastor and his wife were singled out and called up to the stage and were prophecied over and “received” this anointing. When they came back there proceeded one of the most demonically led seasons in any church I have ever been in. It’s been almost twenty years but I still bear some of the scars of it to this day. People, run! Run fast and get away from this man!

Oh how sad, to think that the Hold Spirit could be thrown around like that with no reverence. It is like a sausage factory and the people believe it.

What is with the “don’t touch me”? Is he some holy “pope’ or is he afraid that this can weaken his ‘power’ some how?

Oh I fear for these ‘christians’ if they do not come out of this.

Not to mention he must be getting paid very well, he looks like he put on a FEW pounds. No doubt he isn’t starving or suffering for Christ’s sake.

    I’ve always wondered the following:
Why do the ushers never fall over under the “anointing”?
Seems like the power would be so strong that they would fall over too.

Also, I love where he tells the ushers to keep the people from touching him. I guess Hinn didn’t pick up from Jesus how to be touched and let the power flow out of you.

Serious question: is that italian that he keeps repeating that is his “tongue”? Sounds like that or greek or latin. Just curious

  9. Mike L.

I would have to disagree on one point, Daniel. I DO think what Hinn is doing borders heavily on the demonic. Mind-control tricks, especially of this sort, most certainly open up the mind to demonic influence. The guy is dangerous; plain and simple. He will have to answer for many a soul led astray during his tenure as a “preacher.” What happens in the spiritual is echoed in the natural; we see that in Scripture. And so, the spiritual battles occurring are manifesting themselves in the physical at Hinn’s events.

What is with the “don’t touch me”? Is he some holy “pope’ or is he afraid that this can weaken his ‘power’ some how?

If you noticed the music got a little slow, non-existant atthis point, and it was one of his methods to keep the false flowing. It was away of making people thinking that the anointing was stil there. The thing almost died at that point before they actually got singing the song.

In my early days of Charismania I attended two Hinn Crusades (Sacramento Ca) by participating n the choir. It is quite an ordeal to prepare for one of these crusade. At least back then you attended a couple of rehearsals as a choir to learn the songs and parts, and you received instructions on how and what codes were given when it was time to participate when a certain level of “annointing” began to occur.

At the crusade Hinn wore all white and after some time of “worship” Mr. Hinn would come out on the plateform, spot light on him, and make a grand entrance. It started with him being the center of attention, for sure.

He then did his thing and eventually had the whole choir stand up to receive the annonting. He had us all hold hands and then he’d yell the same thing “fresh fire!” and all it took was one person to go down and because we all held hands we followed suit. There was no annointing and when I went backwards it was all I could do to keep from getting hurt from the chair I was falling against. I tried to let go of the person(s) hands but they were holding on too tightly. It was a charade.

The rest of the night was nothing more than what you see here. He would wave his hands, yell, throw his coat, do all sorts of stpid stuff to get the crown excited. The speaking in tongues was new to me in this video. I don’t remember it ever being done before but where was the interpretation. Scripturally broke the rules right there.

I ave to admit that I got caught up in it all at the time but after further evaluation of the meetings later in my walk I could see the “show” as it were….

Sorry for so much mis-spelling in the previous post…. You know the sad part is that I knew a family where I live now, who watched him advidly. In fact I wondered at the time if they had some special Benny Hinn channel because everytime I went there they were watching a Hinn telecast.

I worked in a medical equipment/supply business and would have to deliever to their house on a regular basis. I worked for the company for 5 years. They had a son that got in a motor vehicle accident and between that and a “gone wrong” surgery he was paralyzed from the neck down and in a wheelchair.

This family sent 100’s and 100’s of dollars to the Hinn ministry to support him and letters for healing prayer for their son and the last time I saw them there has been no change or healing in this boys life. They have moved from the area, but I bet there has still been no change.

Very sad to see them put all of their effort into this ministry and get no-where!!!!

Having researched Benny Hinn since the early 1990’s, his “anointing” is not from God. It is, however, a mixture of Hinn’s narcissism (inordinate fascination with oneself), polished showmanship, and demonic activity.

Benny Hinn’s shouting,”DON’T LET THEM TOUCH ME!” is nothing more than a power-play to scare and intimidate his followers, and remind them of who is in charge. So, who’s afraid of the weenie-wolf? Only his followers.

What does God’s written word say about Benny Hinn and others like him?

“But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves” (2 Peter 2:1).

In 2 Corinthians 11:12-13, the Apostle Paul wrote: “But what I am doing I will continue to do, so that I may cut off opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the matter about which they are boasting. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.”

Further, in Galatians 1:6-9, the Apostle Paul warned that those who preach a counterfeit gospel are under a divine curse from God. A counterfeit gospel includes a counterfeit “Christ” (2 Corinthians 11:3-4).

By claiming to be a “god,” and that Jesus took on the nature of Satan and sinned, and that Jesus had to be “born again” in hell, Benny Hinn denies the Biblical Jesus and favors the counterfeit.

Benny Hinn is a gutless coward. Only the courageous follow the real Jesus Christ and cling tenaciously to His word. Hinn turned his back on the Jesus of the Bible many years ago, and shouted the praises of hyper-heretics who came before him. By his own choosing, Hinn has ridden the blasphemous waves of the Word of Faith movement to his own destruction.

Is Benny Hinn my brother in Christ? No. Is Benny Hinn a Christian? No. His “fruit” is rotten to the core (Matthew 7:15-23). Is it wrong to “judge” Benny Hinn as a non-Christian? No. He is a false prophet, false teacher, and blasphemer of God–many times over.

    Unless there is confession of sins, repentance, and salvation, no false prophet, heretic, or blasphemer will enter heaven (Revelation 21:8);

Just a thought … regarding the holding of hands by the choir and everyone pulling each other down. Maybe that is what Bennie is afraid of, being pulled down himself if someone is clutching or touching him.

    Hi Beverley:

You made a good point. If Benny Hinn was holding hands with those he was “slaying in the spirit,” he would have to go down–if anything to authenticate the so-called “power.”

As far as I can tell, Benny Hinn’s slinging the spirit (or “slaying in the spirit”) dates back to December 31, 1989. After delivering a series of false prophecies to his Orlando Christian Center congregation, Hinn instructed them to stand up and get ready for the “anointing.” Moments later, Hinn slung “God’s power” into the congregation and balcony with commanding words that were deep and gutteral, followed up with long, snake-like hissing sounds.

The first time I listened to the audio-tape I broke-out in chill-bumps (no kidding). The word-for-word transcript is at http://www.christianresearchservice.com/BHinn1.htm , so feel free to review it and make hard-copies.

Benny Hinn is the first I have heard to coin the word “drunk” in the spirit. Towards the end of the above-mentioned audio-tape/transcript, Hinn stated, “I wish somebody would make sure to tell me what I said. Did–Did you tape that, brother? Did you tape that? Ooh! I was totally drunk. I’m still drunk.”

Benny Hinn was out of control that night, and was controlled by something not of God. He bragged about keeping his congregation until 1am, and he did it.

Finally, Benny Hinn could have been a great evangelist. But despite the efforts of many to meet with and reason with him, he chose to remain out of control. And the rest is history…

I think we’re all in agreement about Hinn. I hope Chrystal doesn’t mind, but I’d like to ask a favor, off topic-I just finished watching (most) of a movie a friend lent me called, “The Cross-the Arthur Blessitt Story”. Blessitt is that guy who carried a 12 ft cross around the world for 40 years. I’m wondering what you think of him, if you’ve known of his ministry?
I had never heard of him before seeing this movie. Thank you in advance.

Robert L in a comment above alludes to a point that I’m wondering if in fact maybe far darker than we realise.

He said “Because of Mr. Hinn, sadly, I can see how millions upon millions will be easily decieved when the anti-Christ makes his appearance and commands the worship of all, thru decieving signs and wonders”

Are these not lying signs and wonders?
    Are not multitudes being decieved?
Is this not also the spirit of antiChrist (false Christ)?
And to cap it off, this is taking place amidst a people whom God has/had called the temple of the Holy Spirit?
    It is an abomination!
And the result of this will be God’s righteous judgement and a time of great desolation.

Jesus said that when you see the abomination that causes desolation standing in the Holy place…..It’s time to flee!

  17. IWTT

Why do the ushers never fall over under the “anointing”?
Seems like the power would be so strong that they would fall over too.

Oh they have fallen many a time… He especially likes to spend time blowing, throwing and pushing on them as well.

Benny Hinn claims people are healed after he has touched them. I would be interested in the % of verifyable healings that have occured and these healing must stick.

I bet, just like Lakeland, there may be few healings that are genuine, but we never hear of them. How many have thought they were healed only to have all of the pain and symptoms return? Of Course then these Hinn-ittes and Bently-ittes will just tell you that your faith isn’t strong enough or that you must still be living in some type of sin. False signs and wonders, false teachers and prophets, false gospel and doctrines abound in this camp of MSoG, Third Wave, WOF, Dominionites. THis will bring about the false christ. I agree, flee the wrath, the stage is being set up.

  18. Mike L.

Flee, I agree…Benny is an antichrist and he is performing lying signs and wonders. He is deceiving multitudes and he will have much to answer for. I don’t think he is the abomination of desolation by a long shot but he IS one of those spoken of in many places in the New Testament; a false teacher and false prophet, to be sure. Him and his ministry are judgments from God upon those who will not endure sound doctrine. They are getting what they want. There will come a day when it will be GOD sending a strong delusion upon those who refuse the Gospel of Truth. Right now, people can still repent and come out of those wicked ministries and out from under the teaching of those heretics and be restored but the season is coming to an end quickly. Pray for the deliverance of those entrapped therein.

I heard a comedian once say he went to the front of the church and asked for prayer – then the preacher started slapping him on the head and pushing him. He then went to the back of then line and cam back again – the preacher asked him, “What do you need now?” to which the response…………..”Now I have a headache – and please don’t touch me!”.

Just thought I would add some humor.

  20. Bud Press

Many times I have been asked if Benny Hinn is THE antichrist. I answered, While Benny Hinn operates in the spirit of antichrist, he isn’t smart enough to be THE antichrist. The same goes for Todd Bentley and other false teachers.

The spirit of antichist is and has been operating in the world for thousands of years (1 John 2:18; 1 John 4:3).

IF (and I say, “IF”) we are here when THE antichrist takes his position, he will make the Benny Hinn’s and Todd Bentley’s of the world look like Mary Poppins. It is then when we will see some heavy-duty, industrial-grade deception.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58).

  21. flee the wrath

    Hi Mike L,
If it’s ok with you I thought I might pursue the “abomination of desolation” line for a moment. I know to look at Benny in this context seems quite bizarre but let me expound. I think it’s important for God’s people to see it.
A clearer understanding of that term “abomination of desolation” would be found in the wording of some of the biblical texts “the abomination that causes desolation”
Benny in and of himself will not instigate any violent overthrow of peoples as we understand the antichrist to do. But Benny is one of many now, amidst apostate Christendom who are an abomination standing in the Holy place. This is part of the scriptural fulfillment of the apostasy.
When the temple of God is in such a sad state as a result of these abominable teachings, false apostles etc God Himself will be the one who will bring the desolation.
As the Apostle Paul alludes to “If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are”
Benny is an simply one of many of an apostasy that is an abomination which will result in desolation. It’s not Benny who will fulfill the desolation part of the deal, it simply comes as a result of, i.e. he along with many false teachers, prophets etc cause the desolation to come.
That of course leads one to a far darker scene which must shortly follow, and I as a Western Christian am not one bit excited to tell people that God intends to judge His house first. And the accompanying judgment will indeed be widespread desolation.

    Hope this makes sense…
    Tim.

I didn’t have 2 watch 2 much of that circus before I came 2 the conclusion that satan must howl with delight when he sees this stuff goin on time and time again, and that people are buying it lock stock and barrel. The sad part in all of this is that those people I beleive are genuine and are looking for the Lord.On the other hand ole Benny is not genuine and he plays all those people 4 suckers, and than on the other other hand the Lord is genuine and he will repay those who say they prophesy in his name and yet speak lies, who say they preach the gospel but it is a gospel of the flesh,a gospel of profit.who say they love the Lord but it’s with their mouths and not their hearts, need I go on,u get the picture.Hinn and others are not true shepherds, they are the hireling’s and do not care one iota for the sheep, and what did the master do when he returned and found this out.The time is at hand and the master is about 2 return and when he does he will lay hold of those pretenders and cast them out into the darkness where there is wailing and gnashing of teeth.

  23. Beverley

We must remember one thing, with all these false teachers and preachers … God allows it. Why? Because He is testing all these ‘christians’. Many of us have turned away from these chardes which are absured pretences. God allowes us to be tested and thank you Lord, we were not found wanting.

Many of these christians will come through this, wounded and bloody, but those that come through will be much stronger. Those that stay? Well the bible tells us what they really wanted.

It took me 8 years to recover. I murmured and mumbled and asked God “How could you let me sit in all that for so long”. “How could You allow me to get it so wrong”. But I clung to the Lord in all my sorrow and He held my hand and I came through. I know now it was my doing, and God allowed it. I needed Him to drop a brick on my head, to wake up, but he didn’t. It had to be my decision, my free will.

Thanks so much for sharing that, Beverly! I could feel the pain in your heart as I read it because I was where you were as well. It took about 12 years before circumstances changed in such a way that I could see the error of that way I was following. As I reflect on it, I am simply amazed that fell into it but I can only say that it was the incredible power of emotion that held me in that place. And I would venture a guess that many others are also held captive in those ministries by emotion. After all, it does “feel good” to feel like the Lord is sweeping through a place and doing great signs and wonders. It does “feel good” to have that charge of energy that I now feel is probably just adrenaline or endorphins and not really the Spirit of God. Emotions are very misleading. It’s not wrong to be emotional but the better part of discernment is to hold in the balance what it was or is that is causing the emotional response and see if it passes the testing of the spirits and the standard of Scripture. The Lord made us as emotional creatures and I feel sorry for those who feel that emotions are evil. Jesus surely was the most joyful of all and I wonder how much He laughed as well.

My point is simply that as frail humans we can get caught up in emotion and, sadly enough, high emotions will cover a multitude of sins, so to speak. We will overlook, often unknowingly, that what has caused the emotional response is not orderly or Scriptural and we receive it as a deep, spiritual experience with the Lord rather than just as highly charged emotions. I hope I’m making sense here. I’m just trying to articulate my own experience and I know it was emotional and I didn’t have the sense about me at the time to weigh it against Scripture and probably didn’t really know how at that time.

I guess I’ll leave it at that and surely welcome comment from others who have experienced something similar. Sorry if I didn’t make sense. I’m normally not at a loss of words but I’m struggling this morning.

  25. Mike L.

“Slain in the Spirit” is an interesting term. I recall an angel of the Lord slaying 185,000. I recall Ananias and Sapphira being slain. I recall other instances of many being slain but they were KILLED by angels or the Spirit of God. The Lord slays His enemies; not His beloved children. Semantics? Perhaps.

Does the Spirit of the Lord come upon people in such a manner? Well, I think a case could be made that He does. There are a number of instances in the Scriptures where the Spirit of God showed up and people became “as dead men.” So, I wouldn’t say that people can’t experience the Spirit of the Lord in such a way that they become “as dead men.” However, when I was in that place where people were “slain in the spirit”, it seemed more like people “forced” themselves to fall over because they so much wanted that “experience.”

“Experience” is not a measure of maturity of the presence of God in someone’s life but it is often presented that way and people want to think that the Lord would touch them in that way. Does that make them heretics? Of course not. They are just desiring a very intimate touch by God. I desire that every day but I’m not looking for any kind of “slaying.” I just want His presence to rest of me heavily each day. There is definitely an inherent danger in seeking emotional things because of how misleading they can be. It’s akin to seeking “signs and wonders” sometimes.

    Thoughts??

    To Beverley,

I think I take a different viewpoint. I don’t think that God allows evil in order to make people stronger.

I praise God that you have emerged from deception with your faith strengthened. But for every one like you, there’s many more who stay trapped in it, and others who leave with their faith destroyed by the corruption of those who claim to be God’s “anointed” ministers. Yes, some of these may have had no genuine faith to start with, but I know from personal experience that this isn’t always the case.

And what of the unsaved, who don’t even consider Jesus because they can see straight through the con-artists like Benny Hinn?

God does permit bad things to happen, but that’s because we are living in the “not yet” period where the kingdom has not fully come. I think He grieves at the evil in the world, and one day He’s going to put it all right. He can use the evil for good, but I don’t think He allows because it sometimes produces good (subtle different). He allows it simply because that’s the way He’s chosen for his creation.

  27. stan

So will I choose their delusions. . . (Is 66:4a)

The Hinns of the world serve God’s purposes. The world wants to be deceived, so God obliges. Eventually, Antichrist will serve His objectives for the same reason: And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. God is using false ministers like Hinn to judge the masses who want a Jesus who is on demand to meet their desires. The crowds want to see a miracle, but miracles of the prophets were never put forth to entertain people. Such people are condemned by Jesus with these words: It is an evil and adulterous generation that seek for a sign. It is these masses who no longer endure sound doctrine, but are heaping to themselves such teachers to tell them what they want to hear and show them something of what they want to see.

Among the devotees of these false prophets there are the unsuspecting who are saved, but who are not well-armed by their pastors to recognize these wolves under their woolly clothing. I was like that years ago, until God led me away from these frauds. These need prayer that the Good Shepherd will leave the 99 to rescue them from these lions’ mouths.

In Hinn’s case, he is a one-trick pony, knocking people down to no purpose. With such a well-polished PR machine, there will always be an eager audience to view his antics. Yet, they will always watch the visibly deformed and obvious lame leave the auditoriums in the same physical condition in which they arrived. Will that glaring fact ever intrude itself enough to their minds to dismiss Hinn as a fraud? Don’t count on it.

    Stan

  28. Mike L.

    Hi Derek,

You said, “And what of the unsaved, who don’t even consider Jesus because they can see straight through the con-artists like Benny Hinn?” The answer to that is that those unsaved people will die in their sin because that is the wages of sin but also, there will be a more severe judgment upon those false teachers who led them astray.

As for God allowing evil to bring good, consider MANY Old Testament accounts. The Babylonian Empire was raised up BY GOD for ONE PURPOSE; to bring about punishment upon Israel so that they would turn back to Him. Babylon came into existence very shortly before the 70-year Babylonian exile (as prophecied by Isaiah, Jeremiah, and others) and then they were wiped out right after the 70-year captivity was completed, as per the bidding of God. God showed in all of that that HE ALONE is responsible for shaping world history. It has NOTHING to do with politics, religion, philosophy, or anything else. HE makes kingdoms rise and fall for His glory and His purposes. Not only did God allow it, He ORDAINED it by His perfect will and for His glory. He raised up the wicked Assyrians as well. History is incredibly fascinating when you study it from the biblical accounts and see just how the Lord did everything for His glory and for (and often TO) His people.

Did anyone see or hear Benny Hinn a couple of nights ago on TBN (4/3-4) say that those who make it to heaven can still sin against God or can fall away from God and be cast out of Heaven. Totally bizarre. He said that is why Jesus said I will aways be praying for you. I have never heard this and of course believe it to more of Benny’s whimsical fancy…”make-it-up-as-you-go-along” theology. It is frigtning the level of false doctrine that this man espouses.

Hi, Chris. Thank you for posting.

    Hey Chrystal!

Well let me ask you? What is heresy? Is calvinism heresy? Then why don’t we call the calvinist heretics? is Universalism heresy? Are catholics heretics? and i could go on and on.

We today call someone a heretic just because we don’t like him, or what he does and not based upon the word of God. there are 5 essential doctrine of Christianity. and I bet if Benny came to your house and laid down everything he believed on ” the Deity of Christ, Salvation by Grace, and Resurrection of Christ, the gospel, and monotheism.” and you laid down what you believed on them, you would have exactly the same thing.

    So what’s the problem?

In Benny’s miracle crusade, he spends one hour preaching the Gospel and thousands of people surrender their lives to Jesus. He gives them a KJV bible and tells them to read their bible everyday, talk to God everyday. he also tells them to develop communion with Jesus, to talk to him through out the day. Then he tells them to find a good church and go to church every sunday.

Well no one focuses on that. Then he spends another 45 mins preaching on how Jesus heals with scriptures. No one focuses on that. They focus on the part where people come and testify of what God has done for them. This is when they start pointing fingers, They focus on the part where the Holy Spirit is falling and because we don’t understand it, we criticize it.

Though Benny has expressively said that He is not a healer, yet people call him that when they criticize him. They call him a faith healer and he denies that and has never claimed to be and rejects it.

Now about prophecy, any Christian can prophesy according to Paul in the scriptures.
Its not a mystical thing to speak what you believe God is saying to you. every christian has the Spirit of prophecy and God is always speaking but we need to clean out our ears to listen, then there is the gift of prophecy which God gives and then the office of the prophet which God calls men and women into.

    1. Chrystal Post author

Chris, you said: “We today call someone a heretic just because we don’t like him, or what he does is not based upon the word of God. ”

Oh, my goodness! You just admitted that what Hinn does is not based upon the word of God, and then you go on to defend him.

Hinn has been proven a false prophet. Anyone who speaks in the name of the Lord and that prophecy does not come to pass is a false prophet. There is a 0% tolerance in God’s Word for failure. Not one prophecy can fail. All of Hinn’s have failed.

As for Hinn’s preaching… Jesus said that MANY would say to Him in that day:

“Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” (Matthew 7:23-24)

As for the office of prophet, I would advise you to read Hebrews 1:1-4:

      HEBREWS 1

1 God who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
      2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
      3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

  35. Mike L.

Amen, Chrystal. Chris, you need to look at Hinn’s theology. Have you seen what this man does to sound biblical doctrine? Let’s just take a VERY BRIEF look at some of his so-called “prophecies.”

    1. JESUS CHRIST WILL PERSONALLY APPEAR ON THE PLATFORM IN ONE OF BENNY HINN’S CRUSADES

    2. GOD WILL DESTROY THE HOMOSEXUAL COMMUNITY

    3. AN EARTHQUAKE WILL HIT THE EAST COAST

    4. FIDEL CASTRO WILL DIE IN THE 1990’S

    And let me just remind you of some of his doctrine;

    1. “When you say I am a Christian, you are saying I am a messiah in Hebrew.”

    2. “God the Father, ladies and gentleman, is a person and He is a triune being by Himself, separate from the Son and the Holy Ghost. See, God the Father is a person, God the Son is a person, God the Holy Ghost is a person; but each one of them is a triune being by himself. If I can shock you and maybe I should, there’s nine of them! What did you say? Let me explain. God the Father, ladies and gentlemen, is a person with his own personal spirit, with his own personal soul and his own personal spirit body. You say, I never heard that! Well, you think you are in church to hear things you heard for the last fifty years?”

    3. “I’ve known moments when I’ve felt the presence of God, I’ve smelled the presence of God. I did this morning right here. And those around me smelled the frankincense. In Detroit, Michigan, so great was the presence of God, the whole building began to fill up with a mist and we began to breath it and smell it, frankincense. I’ve seen the presence of God. I not only have smelled it, I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Moses saw a cloud. Peter, James and John saw a cloud. As Christ walked into that cloud, and the voice of God spoke and said, ‘This is my beloved Son, hear Him.’ Many times, in our own meetings, many times I will see a mist over people. I can actually see like a mist over the people’s heads. Elisha said, ‘Open his eyes, Lord. Open the eyes of my servant so he might see.'”

    4. “It’s closer to you than the air you breath. I’ve walked in that world. I’ve seen things you would never be able to understand. Paul, do you believe that I am a man of God? Do you? How long have you known me? Am I crazy? Can I tell you something? I’ve never shared this. Never! I was in prayer one day and a man appeared in front of me. For two days in a row, twice, one day and the next day. I saw this man in my room. It frightened me at first. When you enter into this world of prayer it starts with the mind where you’re so accustomed to the things around you, then you enter into a spiritual thickness and wealth where nothing bothers you, nothing frightens you. Angels don’t surprise you anymore with their appearance because you’ve been already tasting and been feeling and you been living in an atmosphere. Do you understand that? You are not shocked by anything. There appeared to me a man. He was about six feet two. Old man, white beard. His face was somewhat thin, but very bold. Eyes, crystal blue. He had on a white garment. On his head was like a shawl. He looked like a priest. But every part of Him glistened like crystal. And I spoke out and I said, Lord, who is this man I see? I know you might think I lost my mind, but the Lord said, Elijah the prophet! Do you know when that happened? That happened days before the anointing on my life doubled. Literally! The ministries’ anointing doubled after that.”

I could give you a detailed list as long as a horse’s leg about the false prophecies of this charlatan. He’s a money grabber and is misleading people by the thousands. If you want more evidence, google his prophecies and read for yourself. Last time I checked, there was something like 182,000 hits on that topic.

    In His service,

    Mike

  36. Chris

(“Oh, my goodness! You just admitted that what Hinn does is not based upon the word of God, and then you go on to defend him.”)

LOL, that was a typo, i meant to add an “and” not a “is”. There is no way to edit posts on here, so don’t blame me. But I still didn’t expect you would think i was actually saying that.

What i meant to say is this “We call people a heretic today just because we don’t like them, or because we don’t like what they do [AND] not based upon what the word of God calls heresy.”

(“Hinn has been proven a false prophet. Anyone who speaks in the name of the Lord and that prophecy does not come to pass is a false prophet. There is a 0% tolerance in God’s Word for failure. Not one prophecy can fail. All of Hinn’s have failed.)

Well first, no where in the bible does it say that. Second, you have to be a prophet first to be a false prophet. Third, alot of prophecies in the OT didn’t come to pass and they weren’t declared false prophets. For EX: Isaiah prophecy to Hezekiah or Jonah prophecy to Ninevah Why? because every prophecy is subject to change.

Fourth, you said “Not one prophecy can fail”. Well again, I noted two prophecies that did not come to pass. Fifth, there were two inaccurate prophecies in the NT aswell. One from Agabus and another from some disciples at church.

Sixth, you quoted: “Matthew 7:23-24”. I’m not surprised, everyone uses this as the building block of their statement. It doesn’t hold any water, i can use it on YOU aswell. I don’t know you, sure it may seem you preach Jesus. But i don’t know your heart, so i can quote the verse on you as well just like you quoted it on benny’s preaching.

Many people have called benny names, including a devil.
Would a devil preach Jesus and him crucified and call people to flee from this wicked generation?
I find it hard to believe!

    1. Chrystal Post author

      Chris,

In that case, forgive me for thinking that.

As for the Bible not saying that prophet’s words can’t fail without them being a false prophet, read Deurteronomy 18:20-22. If a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord and the thing does not follow, he is a false prophet. It doesn’t take once…they only have one false prophecy.

Jonah wasn’t a false prophet, and since I’m ill, I don’t have time to answer you, but the following link will say everything I would say to you. Please take time to read it:

      http://www.letusreason.org/Biblexp17.htm

As for the prophecy not coming to pass, what God was saying was, repent or be destroyed. They repented. They weren’t destroyed at that time. Anyone can see that.

That argument put forth by Word of Faith believers is weak at best.

And, how can Isaiah be a false prophet (which is really what you’re saying) when he said what God told Him to? This is not a false prophecy, Chris, this, if anything, shows God’s tenderness and mercy. To say it is a false prophecy is to accuse God of actually prophesying falsely. Consider that.

As for, “Would a devil preach Jesus and him crucified and call people to flee from this wicked generation?” Yes! The devil disguises himself as an angel of light and the devils also believe and tremble. Jesus would say that many would claim to do many wonderful works in His name, but He would tell them to depart because He NEVER knew them.

Tell me, Chris…do you agree with Hinn that we are little gods?

P.S. I edited your post to say what you really meant it to say.

  37. Chris

(“JESUS CHRIST WILL PERSONALLY APPEAR ON THE PLATFORM IN ONE OF BENNY HINN’S CRUSADES”)

Hello Mike, First benny didn’t say that someone else did. You see, this is what happens when someone doesn’t have first-hand information.

Second, Like I told crystal earlier, Prophecy is subject to change and comes in part, and also subject to mixture/error on the part of the person speaking it.

(“Chris, you need to look at Hinn’s theology. Have you seen what this man does to sound biblical doctrine? And let me just remind you of some of his doctrine;”)

All you did was post sound bites from 20 to 30 years ago, copied and pasted from sites and call it his doctrine. That is not his doctrine or theology!

I bet if i had sound bites from 20-30 years ago of what you said, i can make you look bad.
Why don’t you look at what benny believes and preaches today?
and by the way, He believes and preaches the Trinity. Father Son and the Holy Ghost!

Response to 3 and 4: Do you know Jesus is a real person? a REALLY REALLY REAL person. When we say Jesus is in us. He is literally in you. Its hard to believe, how can God be in me? But he is, but he is not manifested. If he manifested himself to you, if he revealed himself to you. You would be like Moses on the top of the mountain. Then you would no think benny is crazy when you reread 3 and 4!

  38. Barry Boyd

Hinn is a 100 percent bona fide false prophet and if anyone doesn’t think so than ask the Lord.He knows everything and he always speaks the truth unlike Benny Hinn.People need 2 do their homework on this guy or anyone like him.Check out old reruns of the TBN programs hosted by the Crouchs. The Hinster was making FALSE PROPHETIC statements way back in the eighties,ya the eighties and the Crouchs were backin him.Their all a bunch of loons and God is not fooled by any of em andf he’s also not mocked.Pay day is coming for all of em who took the gospel of Christ and made a mockery of it in the eyes of the unsaved unbeleiving world.Hinn and many like him are prophets for profits, nuff said!

  39. Chris

(“In that case, forgive me for thinking that.”)
    Don’t worry it was nothing

(“As for the Bible not saying that prophet’s words can’t fail without them being a false prophet, read Deurteronomy 18:20-22.If a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord and the thing does not follow, he is a false prophet. It doesn’t take once…they only have one false prophecy.”)

You see, This is my point. The verse does not say they are false prophets. it says “but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.” not that they are false prophets.

and second, we don’t live under the OT laws. Today every christian can prophesy according to the scripture!

    (“Jonah wasn’t a false prophet, “)
    I never said he was.

(“and since I’m ill, I don’t have time to answer you,”)
Sorry that your ill, i pray you will get better.
i think you should definitely rest:)
I had a fever a couple of days ago and i know how it feels to be ill.

(“but the following link will say everything I would say to you. Please take time to read it:”)
I did read it, but i should tell you. I have read alot of things that letusreason has to say in general.
But i did read it, and i think they coped out of the question.

Jonah said: “Forty days from now Nineveh will be destroyed!”
He didn’t say maybe, not might, not if, not possibly.
It wasn’t conditional as letusreason is trying to suggest.
he said in 40 days Ninevah will be GONE! and it didn’t happen not because it was conditional, but because prophecy is subject to change.

(“As for the prophecy not coming to pass, what God was saying was, repent or be destroyed. They repented. They weren’t destroyed at that time. Anyone can see that.”)

I think i will stick to what Joel actually said: “Forty days from now Nineveh will be destroyed!”

(“That argument put forth by Word of Faith believers is weak at best.”)

Well, i’m not a WOF, but my argument is biblically strong!

(“And, how can Isaiah be a false prophet (which is really what you’re saying) when he said what God told Him to? This is not a false prophecy, Chris, this, if anything, shows God’s tenderness and mercy. To say it is a false prophecy is to accuse God of actually prophesying falsely. Consider that.”)

I never said isaiah was a false prophet. The prophecy was true but was never fulfilled. Now look at what happened:
“Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.”
not for thou might die, or maybe die, or possibly die.
    but THOU SHALT DIE!

but that prophecy was not fulfilled.
Same prophet had to turn around and say, God will heal you.

Most people will say impossible, can’t be true.
Well that’s because they don’t know that prophecy is in part and therefore subject to change.
Paul said: “For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.”
When God reveals something to someone. He reveals it in part.

(“As for, “Would a devil preach Jesus and him crucified and call people to flee from this wicked generation?” Yes! Yes! The devil disguises himself as an angel of light”)

Jesus said: “How can Satan cast out Satan? And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.”

Satan disguise as angel of light to deceive people and lead them away from Jesus,
not to call them to repentances and preach to them the Gospel and heeding them to flee from the damnation of hell! He would be destroying his own kingdom! Lets be honest with ourselves

(“Jesus would say that many would claim to do many wonderful works in His name, but He would tell them to depart because He NEVER knew them.”)

Can you do me a favor and reread that scripture, it is dealing with the heart of the person, the salvation of the person. They turned away from God and started living a life of sin, not because of their doctrine, mistake they did or w/e…

“Tell me, Chris…do you agree with Hinn that we are little gods?”
Well that sound-bite was taken more than 20 years ago…
I don’t think that is of any use today.

and no, i don’t believe we are little gods. I believe we are spirits created in the image of God, but lost that after the fall. But we are now renewed by the death of Jesus Christ. Now we are sons of God:)

    Thats better.

Jonah never preached a false prophecy to Nineveh. He prophecied that God would destroy then if they didn’t turn from thier ways…and they not only turned but dressed the oxen in sackcloth as well. Jonah true prophet.

Yes Benny can certainly preach Jesus and still be of the devil. Who would lead more Christians a stray? Someone who looked like Charles MAnson and only spoke of Satan? Or some one who looked like everyother TV preacher and mixed a little false doctrine with the truth. Remember 99.999% truth is 100% satanic. Matt. 24 Jesus said ” Beware for many shall come IN MY NAME (Jesus) saying that I (Jesus) am the Son of God, and shall fool many….and LEAD MANY A STRAY. Those are Christs words not mine! So yes absolutely Benny can and is demonic and does preach Jesus. Sorry.

Benny declared that his annointing comes not from God but from a graveyard with the spirit of dead Kathryn Kuhlman and Aimee Simple McPherson. Necromancy is strickly forbidden in the scriptures. Yet Benny talks to the dead. BY his words not mine.

Anyone who calls someone they do not like a false prophet just because they do not like them is an imbecile. But anyone who calls someone a false prophet because thier prophecies are FALSE and because that person claims that it is from God and it is almost exclusively WRONG….and it is seldom backed up by scriptures…then that person is right on the money.

  41. Jimmie Krack Korn

I just gave Chris a soundbite from 48 hrs. ago from Benny and Moron #1 (Paul Crouch senior) and Moron #2 (Paul Crouch Jr.) when Benny declared that once we enter God’s presence in heaven and recieve our glorified bodies that we can sin and fall away and then be thrust into hell. That is typical outrageous Benny Hinn BS that he flings around the TBN studio indoctrinating listeners and viewers with flase lies and misinterpretation of the scripture. Benny has not changed over the years 20-30 years ago or today he is a false teacher, a false leader and he is waxing worse and is being decieved (by those ghosts he talks to) and decieving many. (Millions on TBN)

I call the Crouched morons because they encourage and tolerate Benny’s false mystic theology.

  42. Beverley

Phew … what we really need to look at also ARE THE FRUITS of these ministries. Boy oh boy do they have fruits. Fancy homes with every mod con available, the top of the range car(s). The Jets, the 5 star holidays and food the fancy clothes and every bling, bling to go with it and finally … the divorce.

They are so out there charging after money and fame it makes them sick. They are chasing their tails. I always think of them as those hamsters in their wheel’s going round and round. If they don’t get off they get sick. Sick in their heads, sick in their marriages, they can’t see the wood for the trees.

I know, I watched my pastor and his wife from the Word of Faith hit the skids. It was then I woke up too their fruits. Alright he did not have a Jet, but it was 5 star all the way. Now his (ex) wife is all but destitute. How is that for fruits, and him preaching away merrily.

Just in the natural you can see things are wrong, one does not have to spiritualise everything. That is why Jesus told us to look at the fruits. Just use your common sense, get out of the whirlwind. Take a step back and have a good look. That is called wisdom.

    Love u all

“Benny declared that his annointing comes not from God but from a graveyard with the spirit of dead Kathryn Kuhlman and Aimee Simple McPherson.”

You do know that lying is a sin?
    Benny never said such thing….
Wow you amaze me with your lying slander!

  44. Chris

“I just gave Chris a soundbite from 48 hrs. ago from Benny and Moron #1 (Paul Crouch senior) and Moron #2 (Paul Crouch Jr.) when Benny declared that once we enter God’s presence in heaven and recieve our glorified bodies that we can sin and fall away and then be thrust into hell.”

Well i didnt hear the interview, now you said and i repeat: “Benny declared we can sin and fall away and then be thrust into hell.”…

Now you do know that if Benny did not say every single line you quoted, then you would be a liar.

But i can tell you, that one of the biggest question is that is there possibility to sin in heaven.
Angels sinned while in heaven, so its a plausible question.
if we still have free will. Is there a possibility that we can sin or do anything like the angels did and get into trouble…

  45. Jimmie Krack Korn

Taken from: “The Confusing World of Benny Hinn” -Morris Publishing 8th edition. pg.180-181

From the very inception of his ministry, Hinn has had a penchant and an obsession with the late Kuhlman. Hinn has publicaly stated that Kulman’s grave carries a supernatural “annointing.” He alleges the same from the BODY and grave of Aimee Semple McPherson. The theatrical, twice divorced McPherson, who probably died by suicide, is hardly a model of Christian annointing.(10)

FROM: Benny Hinn sermon, “Double Portion Anointing”, Part #3. Orlando Christian Center, Orlando Fla.. April 7, 1991. From the series Holy Ghost Invasion. TV#309, tape on file.

During a sermon on the Holy Spirit, Hinn offered the following eerie testimonial:

“One of the strangest experiences I had a few years ago [was] visiting Aimee’s tomb in California. This thursday I’m on TBN. Friday I am gonna go and visit Kathryn Kuhlman’s tomb. It’s close to Aimee’s in Forest Lawn Cemetary. I’ve been there once already and every so often I like to go and pay my respects ’cause this great woman of God has touched my life. And the grave, uh, where she’s buried is closed, they built walls around it. You can’t get in without a key and I’m one of the very few people who can get in. But I’ll never forget when I saw Aimee’s tomb. It’s incredibly dramatic. She was such a lady that her tomb has 7 ft. angels bowing on each side of her tomb with a gold chain around it. As- as incredible as it is that someone would die with angels bowing (btw, angels only bow to Jesus) on each side of her grave, I felt a terrific anointing when I was there. I actually,I- I, hear this, I trembled when I visited Aimee’s tomb. I was shaking all over. God’s power came all over me….I BELIEVE THE ANOINTING HAS LINGERED OVER AIMEE’S BODY. I know this may be shocking to you,…..And I am going to take David [Palmquist] and Kent [Mattox] and Sheryl [Palmquist] this week. They’re coming with me. You–you–you gonna feel the ANOINTING AT AIMEE’S TOMB. It’s incredible. And Kathryn’s. It’s amazing. I’ve heard of people healed when they visit that tomb. ”

If this is the man you worship, that your thing. Benny is not of God. He promotes unscriptural activity at his shows. Such as calling down God…(the anointing) admonishing those present to speak in tongues w/o an interpreter, and supports unblical doctrine such as angels who bow to dead bodies. God will NEVER show up in an atmosphere that promotes this kind og heresey against His word. HOWEVER another kind of demon WILL ALWAYS SHOW. Masquarading as an angel of light, and ministers of righteousness. They will mimick a God anointing, they will make people “fall out” they will give Benny a spirit of familiarity….this is dangerous grounds for those with itchy ears to seek after signs and wonders.

It is impossible. A true Christian cannot lose their salvation. They will never be cast out.

To say that a true Christian can lose their salvation is the same as calling Jesus a liar.

I believe that since pents and chars cannot grasp and will not accept this basic truth found in Scripture, that it is no wonder that they fall for every clown that comes down the tubes claiming to have some glorious anointhing from God. Or also that they fall for every clown that claims to have some new teaching from God.

John6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

I mean how much more simpler can what Jesus said be????

    Dear Friends:

The book, “The Confusing World of Benny Hinn” is, in my opinion, the best of its type available. It is authored by my friends M. Kurt Goedelman and G. Richard Fisher–both of whom are solid, Bible-based Christians and top researchers.

The book is comprehensive, Bible based, and jam-packed with documentation that cannot be denied. It is a “Must Read” for anyone interested in the truth behind Benny Hinn–the world’s most prolific heretic, false prophet, and false healer. No doubt the book has prevented people from being drawn into the Word of Faith movement’s web of deception and Benny Hinn’s maze of delusion.

“The Confusing World of Benny Hinn” may be ordered directly from Personal Freedom Outreach at

My husband and I went to a total of 18 Benny Hinn crusades, services and conferences over a period of 4 years. I had many “healings” at first but things would get better for a while and then get much worse. I had my first seizure, migraine, chokiing episode and going into shock episodes after we attended a crusade. We gave him money. For the last 8 years there have been disasters in every area of our lives. I am still sick, my husband has been unemployed, our home is in foreclosure and we have no where to go and do not even have money for rent. But hope grows in winter and God continues to care for us.

I believe my being “slain in the spirit” was demonic because I would lose consciousness for a second. I also believe my “healings” were demonic.

I believe we were suckered because we were so desperate for my physical healing and financial healing. But a good thing has come out of this. We now know how to discern a false prophet. Benny Hinn was a great teacher! We have learned sooooo much from all of this.

God has given me many dreams concerning Benny Hinn. His ministry will fall and in fact has been slowly falling. He only has a few international crusades this year. Where ever he goes he causes big problems and many countries won’t even allow him in anymore. His wife in February filed for divorce and in California the wife gets half of everything. That will put a huge dent in his ministry.

I believe God has allowed him to prosper to teach people what the antichrist will look like.

If you study your Bibles, and pray for discernment, God will tell you the truth about Benny Hinn.

    Barbara:

Your testimony brought me to tears. The deception and pain you and your husband experienced is another example of why we must continue to expose the Word of Faith/Prophetic movement, Benny Hinn, and others like him.

You are not alone. There are many out there who have experienced similar situations. I pray that God will use your testimony to prevent people from being deceived, and rescue those already involved.

If you and your husband need to talk, please contact me at admin@christianresearchservice.com with a phone number and a time to talk, and I will call you to save the cost. In the meantime, I will place you and your husband on our prayer list. I am sure others on this blog will do the same.

Barbara, be strong in the Lord and remain steadfast in the faith. God is in charge, and He will not forsake you.

“The LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed” (Deuteronomy 31:8).

Chris? Where are you? You gone silent! Dude I was there too. I pray God brings you out. Because I am starting to believe that we are living in the God Delusion of 2Thess2 when God sends a strong delusion to those who want to hear entertaining yet false doctrines. I can not find a particular coorelation that give us a better timeland other thatn “In those days” which is the end times which we are in know. But I have noticed that those who love Word of Faith and Benny Hinn…..Literally can not see the DECEPTION.

You can show them what Benny says…and what the bible says. What Benny says, and what the bible says…and they still call you an accuser of the brethren,,,or accuse you of touching God’s anointed. Benny and Paul Crouch have them well trained. Completely given over to deception. 2 Tim 3:13.

Scary. We should all pray for these poor souls. Because THEY DO NOT GET INTO HEAVEN ACCORDING TO 2 THESS 2: 12.
