Patricia King says that when negative things are spoken against a person, it releases a negative force against them. Patricia King believes that the reason Bentley “fell” and had to leave the Lakeland Revival is because of all the negative words spoken against him (by us). She says that when we speak negative words, it releases “dynamics” in the spirit. She says a devastating force can come upon you as a result. This is the word according to Patricia King, it is not scriptural. I suppose we are to blame for Bentley’s lies, false doctrine, and marital discord? Bentley is not to blame?
The signs and wonders movement believe that words are a tangible force that can effect people in either a positive or negative way. The words of your mouth, according to them, is a spiritual law that moves according to what you speak. This isn’t scripturally sound, it’s witchcraft.
Special Note: There are those of the signs and wonders crowd who have taken offense at this post. I’m quite amused by that. Patricia King has basically said that it is our fault Todd Bentley committed adultery, lied, deceived multitudes, and became a drunkard because we spoke negative words against him. No, Todd Bentley committed all of the above acts because it was in his heart to do so. Therefore, Patricia King’s notion that we are to blame for Todd’s fall is UNSCRIPTURAL!
