Rick Warren: Prayer in Time of Tragedy

While we go about our day and tend to all of the things the make up our daily lives, let us stop for a moment and remember Rick and Kay Warren in prayer.  His son, Matthew, has reportedly ended his own life, and in times of unthinkable tragedy this great, the kindest and most honorable thing we can do for the Warrens is to uplift them and their family in prayer.

  1. Amen, Sis. While we hate what wolves do, there is no biblical basis for us to hate the wolves themselves. Since they are human beings, we need to honor the fact that Christ died for them too, and at least be sympathetic to their plight when something tragic like this happens. Here are a few appropriate passages to ponder in this light:

** Romans 12:20 Therefore, “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

** Proverbs 24:17 Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; 18 Lest the Lord see it, and it displease Him, and He turn away His wrath from him.

In short, we need to be compassionate toward those who suffer — whoever they are — and not spiteful, regardless of what they have done.

No, I am not suggesting that we should all send Rick Warren flowers, and sing “kum ba ya” to him and his family. Yes, I do realize (as others have pointed out elsewhere) that Rick Warren’s own sins of heresy & etc., probably contributed to his son’s terrible mental state and subsequent death. Nevertheless, I do not think that genuine Christians should “gloat” over that fact, nor should we be unsympathetic toward ANY man or family whose son has just died so tragically.

    • Rena says:

Well said Rich, it is a sad situation for any parent to lose a child, especially in this way. Perhaps God will use this tragedy to bring the Warren’s to a place of His truth.

  2. Rev. Kate says:

May our precious Lord and loving God comfort the Warren family in their hour of terrible, terrible sadness and grief, we pray. Amen.

  3. Jesse says:

Stephen Chaote is at is again. He predicted the Boston Massacre.

Now I am really getting angry. Why if he knew the twit he is did not do anything about it.

He is a false prophet. Telling us to buy gold and look at the gold prices. Telling us to invest in his satanic emporium of lies and deceit.

I pray that God will bring him down with fickle sharade of lies. So be it.

I think he is hiding also behind the website Sharon Roach who is asking 300 dollars for private prophecy. Look up Sharon Roach.

The 300 dollars is also exactly what Stephen Chaote is asking for his filth that come out of his darkened selfish evil spirit.

He only wants your money and deliver nothing to warm yourself by. Be warned.

Make a new post about this, ASAP.

    • Stephen Choate and Kim Clement are of the same vein. They are self-aggrandizing braggarts. It isn’t the first time I’ve seen false prophets speak of a disaster after the event takes place and claim they saw it before it happened. Same lies different disaster.
