Here is some insight on the Hyper-charismatic’s so-called healing powers from friend and fellow-soldier, Bud Press.
Beni Johnson: Stressed Out

Beni Johnson is the wife of Bill Johnson, Senior Leader of Bethel Church in Redding, California. In a blog entry dated June 30, 2011, Beni admitted to suffering from sinus problems, stress, depression, and adrenal fatigue (
http://www.benijohnson.blogspot.com/2011/06/adrenal-what.html
).
Note that the remedy she sought for her suffering was not ”divine healing,” but visits with her “natural path doctor” and an “organic product called Maca.”
Every day, reports of “divine healing” flood into the hyper-Charismatic camp. Yet, hyper-Charismatics and their leaders continue to suffer the effects of sickness and disease, and seek medical treatment.
Of course, Beni Johnson’s stress-related medical problems don’t sit well with Bill Johnson’s May 2012 book, HEALING unplugged: Conversations and Insights from Two Veteran Healing Leaders; nor does Bill Johnson’s book sit well with his own medical problems, as mentioned in this “Prayer Alert” at
http://www.breakingchristiannews.com/articles/display_art.html?ID=6590
And, both Beni and Bill still wear glasses:
Thanks for the update, Chrystal. Good to see Slaughter again. As always, this site is very special and loved to me.
Umm, I feel bad for them and will pray for them. I know that the hypercharismatic thought process can be a problem.
Alrighty then, God’s word is true–we cannot take His word out of context– we must pray over the sick and believe that our Father is in control and His will is supreme. K
PS–Ms. Carolyn, how’ve you been? Miss your wisdom and humor. Write us, okay dear friend.
I will say that I do not agree with much of what I am starting to see come out of Bethel, however, this blog is poorly written with facts that are not relevent to a deeper issue that is going on within many Churches, and that is new age. People go through depression, wear glasses and such but if your going to write something about a ministry that is leading people astray…..write on the real issue not the lack of a person’s manifested healing that comes from God. In Christ Love~
This is the deeper issue…here is a well balanced article on this very issue..

Ironic!
L.W.:
It’s good that you don’t agree with much from Bethel, but if you will take the time to research this blog, you will realize that all of the major issues with Bethel and false teachers have been covered.
And there is much more to come, so stay tuned.

you said…write on the real issue not the lack of a person’s manifested healing that comes from God. In Christ Love~
The real issue is this…….Keep in mind that (Bethel is not the only one’s who make these false claims) These so called “faith healers” make all these claims on healing.. and they talk about these super-natural manifestations that they say comes from God….
The real issue and the point that Bud Press and other’s on this forum are trying to make is this…If these people can make claims such as; people legs growing, people being raised from the dead, and so forth…. the fact remains that they “cannot” heal themselves or each other.
Big difference between “Divine healing” directly from God and than “faith healers”
Little history for you.
Phineas Parkhust Quimby was a faith healer, who healed (Mary Baker Eddie) Christian Science. E W Kenyon got his teachings from the writings of Quimby and Eddy. Kenyon then mixed their teachings with scriptures, thus adulterating the Word of God. Then comes Kenneth Hagin Sr. was accused of (plagiarizing) the works of Kenyon. Hagin claimed that God gave him these visions, dreams and revelations, thus the Word of Faith movement was birthed.
Research Quimby, Eddy and Hagan Sr. The New Thought movement, Christian Science, Mind science, The secret, Oprah, Della Reese, if you want to see!!!!!! In Christ Teresa
Hooray! Pink, chicken- thingy icon again. K
with bat wings….??
chicken with Bat wings….love it. hi kate
Yeah , I ‘d be stressed as well , keeping the Bethel circus up to date with new tricks is no mean feat.
Hi Kate. Sorry. Just saw your post now. When Chrystal was absent, I kinda zoned out and haven’t been able to get back in the loop since. I just can’t think of anything to say. I know that’s hard to believe, but true. I have however been commenting a bit on the following site about Bethel and Bill Johnson: http://notunlikelee.wordpress.com/2012/06/25/bill-johnsons-christology-a-new-age-christ-part-iv-conclusion/#comment-5627
LW: you may already have been to this site, but if you want some serious research about the deeper issues of the New Age and Bill Johnson, you will find plenty of food for thought on the blog site I just mentioned above.
As for the issue of Bud’s post being trite…I believe, he is trying to catch the attention of people to make them think about the absurdity of their WOF thinking with regard to healing. It’s the carrot on a stick mentality. Even though Bill and Beni say the healing is right there in front of them…they are not healed. Hello?!? Having been in WOF for years myself, I understand this illusion. And yet people continue to believe this stuff. Instead, if they would stop following their gurus and the proffered “carrots on sticks” (COS doctrine) and study the Word for themselves, they would find that, in reality, there is NO truth to WOF or COS doctrine.
What a wonderful feeling to see you; yes, we probably all zoned-out at one time or another– but that’s okay.
I’m just so glad you’re doing well and having little to say is good too–I don’t either, miraculous as it may sound, too!
Must be, God is doing all the talking to us? K
L.W.:
I’d be the first to agree with you regarding New Age as I’ve written quite a bit about it on my own blog. Part of the problem is that most don’t really understand what New Age is or they discount it as only on the fringes. And it’s not easy to educate readers without articles getting lengthy in order to show the connection.
However, in defense of both Bud Press who wrote this article and Chrystal who posted it, this is an important issue as it shows the hypocrisy of at least two hyper-charismatic leaders – namely Bill and Beni Johnson (not to mention that fact that their son Eric is deaf). If God wants all healed, as Bill Johnson claims, then certainly such ‘anointed’ leaders and their families should provide an example of such a thing.
Perhaps someone who is caught up in these teachings can see the hypocrisy in this short, easy to read article; and/or, perhaps a family member or friend of a Bethel-ite can see this and subsequently warn their Bethel fans of this obvious contradiction.
If the goal is to warn others about the dangerous hyper-charismatic movement and potentially save individuals from it, then a multi-pronged approach seems to be warranted.
Oh yeah, and what’s wrong with seeking healing from nature instead of taking medications? And do you feel it’s okay if Beni were to have gone to a traditional doctor and taken prescribed drugs? Using natural medicine is NOT new age. Refusing to use chemically based man-made products and choosing to use natural things that have healing properties is not a new age invention. There’s nothing wrong with Beni’s choice to heal with the natural healing medicines that God created for that very purpose.
Hmm… what’s going on here, MRR? Don’t be so cranky, please. K
Hey everyone.
Do not know how many have seen the news and I know this is off topic. However, I live in Wisconsin but I was born and raised in Clay County West Virginia. Tuesday night there was a shoot out with state trooper and a guy who from Oak Hill WV. One state trooper was killed and Eric Workman is in critical condition. I grew up with his mother, we really need to remember these families in our prayers and so forth. This is an sad accident here is the link. http://www.wsaz.com/breaking/home/BREAKING-NEWS-Two-WVa-State-Police-Troopers-Shot-167774505.html Teresa
Hi dear friend–good to hear from you and so sorry for these sad circumstances–God’s comfort is a definite and that’s my prayer; for our Lord’s direction and comfort for all; and you know what the good news is, He’s faithful to follow through.
On a lighter note Ms. T, it was your suggestion (I still crack-up at that) to name my icon a “pink chicken-thing” from way back in 2010, so, now with bat wings, Ms. Julie’s new definition–hmm, very interesting, girls… love it too and good to know! I thought they were elephant ears, T… oh well… and your’e still tough as nails.
Funny site, funny friends and we, as always, true to our silliness and darned proud of it… K
