No one is Safe: Guard Yourself Well!

2 John 1:9-11:

9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him Godspeed: 11 For he that biddeth him Godspeed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Hello, everyone!  Long time no see, eh?

It has been a while since I’ve posted, and I’ve missed all of you terribly.  Now that I’ve gotten things to settle down, I think it’s time to get back to work!  Wouldn’t ya say?

For my inaugural post in my grand return (ahem), I can think of nothing better than linking you up to a post by Ken Silva at Apprising Ministries about a recent appearance by Dr. David Jeremiah on TBN’s Spring Praise-a-Thon 2012.  When reading this, I was a little astounded, but just a little, mind you.  I have listened to Dr. Jeremiah teach for years, and while being extremely chagrined at his employment of Eugene Peterson’s “The Message,” and a few other things I won’t go into here, I figured he still had enough spiritual and scriptural wherewithal not to endorse someone like Paul Crouch or TBN.  Nor did I think I would ever see him on TBN’s main fleecing platform like the Praise-a-Thon (Beg-a-Thon, Fleece-a-Thon, Rob-a-Thon – insert clever synonym, antonym, or pseudonym here).

Bloggers have been accused of indicting someone using the “guilt by association” tactic.  Well, this is not a “guilt by association” tactic, this is a flat out endorsement on Dr. David Jeremiah’s behalf.

Ministers that many have, for years, thought to be “safe” are making some interesting choices.  It will be interesting to see who is next.

Please read the entire article by Ken Silva.

I stand amazed that people are listening to whatever’s told to them by a TV personality. TURN OFF the TV, read what God has for you in His word and voila! Instant revelation as to what HE has in store for you.

My goodness, what did we ever do before cell phones, TV’s by the dozens, CD’s, DVD’s and etc. etc. etc. We sat on the porch, read, talked, discussed and thanked God for our numerous blessings. But of course,…those were in days gone by… Come Lord Jesus, Come!!!

Welcome back Chrystal! Have you been keeping up with the TBN scandal? I’m thinking it will implode just like Richard Roberts did back in 2009.

  3. Jesus Wins says:

As we say here in Nigeria, masquerades are being unmasked!
    Glad to have you back.

Some of these people have me shaking my head. I have been wondering if it’s a case of a Christian just getting off track or if it’s a 1 John 2:19 situation.
    1 John 2:19
They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us.

If it’s the latter it grieves my heart and reaffirms that I need to be in Scripture constantly and be a Berean when it comes to testing teachers.

  5. Rev's Kate and Rich M. says:

Oh my goodness! Chrystal, you have no idea how much we have missed you– I can only think, if I feel the loss, there are probably many who feel it too. I missed you! What else can I say? You are a friend who has been missed. Love, K

    Heresy Hunters

It seems that most of what is promoted by TBN or Charisma Magazine (Charisma Media) is heretical so this proves they are heresy hunters for the Christian church.

If you subscribe to Charisma email newsletters then you will be updated on the very latest deception, false teaching, false prophet, false everything else.

They call their critics “heresy hunters” whereas in fact that is what they are.

They provide a service to promote the emerging false Christ, the antichrist.

    >> Sadparent May 21: “My goodness, what did we ever do before cell phones, TV’s by the dozens, CD’s, DVD’s and etc. etc. etc. We sat on the porch, read, talked, discussed.

Now we can read, talk, discuss in world wide accessable forums through internet sites/blogs using computer and communication technology.

This is a marvellous facility for the true Christian church (the collection of authentic believers throughout the world) to continue fighting the good fight for truth in times when deception increasingly seems to be more attractive than truth in local church fellowships.

Ezekiel 3:27 ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says.’ Whoever will listen let him listen, and whoever will refuse let him refuse; for they are a rebellious house.

2 Tim 4:2-5 Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.

Hello Baby Sister! Great to see you back!

Speaking of TBN, your readers may want to contact Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort, and ask them why they advertise and promote TBN on their website at http://www.wayofthemaster.com/tvschedule.shtml

Welcome back, Chrystal. Sad to see what Jeremiah has done. We don’t watch TV at home but are housesitting for friends who have cable and tonight for the first time in months I watched TBN. A pastor named Muncie was telling the audience how TBN is virtually everywhere now.

    What a sad truth.

Welcome back Chrystal! Just checked your site again, and am pleased to see that you have room in your life to post-please don’t burn yourself out by trying to do ‘too much’.
“No-one is safe” indeed. All it takes for a Christian to start down the wrong road is trusting in our own works instead of God.
“God must be blessing me-look at all of the books I’ve written! Look at how big my church is!”
No-look at how big your head is. There is a reason why God humbles us: it keeps us from putting faith in our ‘works’.
Even John MacArthur (hear me out, please) is human and could fall into the same trap as Dr. Jeremiah. He HAS written many more books, and has a larger ‘following’ than most Evangelicals.
The temptation to trust in his own abilities, his own works must be great; that so many Christians read his books, hear/enjoy his sermons/teachings may add to his burden of ego.
But I trust that God is working in each of our lives, and that Dr. MacArthur won’t suddenly take to the pulpit embracing T.D. Jakes or Benny Hinn. I believe that Dr. Jeremiah will be in Heaven though, like the all of us, his works will be tested and what is false will burn away. Which is as it should be.

Heresy hunting, critical spirit, contentious, judgemental, divisive, etc.

To see a complete list (an article by Warren Smith) of the improper accusations made against any Christian who faithfully discerns fraud and speaks out, go to this page on Caryl Matrisciana web site.

Caryl Matrisciana’s DVD “Wide is the gate” is a very good and thorough coverage of the emerging church (emerging false Christ or antichrist).

Another DVD “The submerging church” by Joseph Schimmel is also a very good researched critique with extensive video footage of the false teachers of our times – Rick Warren, Rob Bell, Tony Campolo, Brian McLaren, Doug Pagit, Tony Jones, Bono (U2), etc. Some are openly stating the cross was a failure and God’s “Plan B” is a universal Christ in all religions.

“Everything must change” according to Brian McLaren, in defiance of the unchanging Bible canon closed more than 2000 years ago at Revelation 22:21 and has always been totally sufficient for humanity through all subsequent ages.

However, the closed canon of Bible written text isn’t sufficient for those who want to rebel against God. The above listed teachers and others preaching similar teachings are rebelling against the God of Genesis 1:1 and promoting a revival for a false Christ of “the God of this age”, “the prince of the power of the air”, “the lawless one”, “the father of lies”, “counterfeit angel of light”, Lucifer.

This recent testimony by Roger Oakland is revealing for the current times.

Narrow gate / Wide gate – Matt 7:13-14
    Test all things – 1Thess 5:21-22
There is a way that seems right – Prov 16:25
    Don’t go there – Rev 21:8
Be sober, be vigilant – 1 Peter 5:6-11
    Don’t get drunk – 1 Peter 4:3-5
Sharper than any 2 edged sword – Heb 4:12
    Ravenous wolves – Matt 7:15
The falling away comes first – 2 Thess 2:1-3
End of Days – Daniel 12:1-3

Hi Chrystal, gald to see you back. In order to get the post above from seeker3k in context, and to fully understand what yourself, Caryl Matrisciana and Bud Press is trying to warn everyone about, read this “sermon” from the forever-banned-from-Australia Todd Bentley, It has everything about the “Word of Faith” belief system, and it’s really mind blowing that people believe this garbage:

  12. Wendie says:

I am taken aback by this as well, as I assumed David Jeremiah would have the discernment not to endorse the Crouch’s ministry. I have to admit that once a minister I trust and respect begins to implicitly endorse those who teach false doctrine, I begin to question anything coming from their mouths. Such lack of discernment is unsettling. I know that we can all be led astray and confess that I’ve on occasion been temporarily deceived by a false “angel of light” who was truly clever and convincing. However, the Holy Spirit has always brought me back be reminding me of a refuting Truth. It is true that Christ’s sheep know His voice in comparison to the strange voice of a false shepherd and immediately responds to it by an inner witness. That being said – certain false teachers are just so obvious that it seems ludicrous that anyone with a true foundation in God’s Word would miss the red flags. Yet I keep seeing Christian ministers who once seemed wholly grounded in God’s Word aligning themselves with “ministers” of false gospels. What’s up with Billy Graham speaking in agreement with Robert Schuller and his Emergent Church nonsense? Its all very confusing and saddening to me. But it just goes to show that we MUST NOT put out confidence in men or transfer our faith to anyone but God alone. We can confidently follow men ONLY as they follow Christ and believe their words ONLY as they align with God’s Word.

I felt this same astonishment when a well known ministry couple who I regularly watched had the man who wrote “The Shack” on their show and actively promoted it. Either they hadnt truly read the book first (which is irresponsible) or their discernment is extremely poor. That book has heresy written all over it. I would expect anyone that God entrusted a worldwide preaching ministry to could discern the unbiblical content within that book. I sent them an email sharing my concerns and also quoted the same 1 John 1:9-11. Never heard back and I just never felt right about watching their program again.

To me, it seems that the visible Church is becoming more about celebrity, power, and wealth–“success” based on the World System moreso Everyone who seems successful gets a pass–no matter what they teach or represent. The amount of popular ministers that attach themselves to Oprah is nothing less than sickening to me. The woman is an open enemy to the Cross of Christ, yet they act like fans and draw others to also accept her as truly Christian. In fact, I suspect Oprah remains in the dark about the truth that she doesnt meet the biblical standard for a Spirit born believer because of all the ministers that flock around her and make her feel comfortable in her apostacy.
