Jesus Who? Actor Says Pitt and Clooney are Bigger than Jesus

In an article posted on Foxnews.com, actor Steve Guttenberg makes the following statement:

“Listen, I’m a nobody. I’m sure if George Clooney was there she’d have had a  heart attack but the great thing about being famous is it’s a new religion.  Jesus is not the big name anymore. The big names are Brad and Angelina. That’s  just the way it is. If we walked Jesus, Brad Pitt and George Clooney down Fifth  Avenue, I think Clooney and Pitt would get a lot more attention.”  (Online Source)

You want to know what’s so sad (or sickening) about that statement?  In many people’s lives, he’s probably right.  Shows the age we live in when mortal men (who have the loose morals of the world) are more respected than the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  However, regardless of the praise these men are offered on earth, their knees will bow to the same Savior as mine, and their lips will confess that He is Lord.  Guttenberg’s as well.

I know this is Steve Guttenberg’s opinion and not the opinion of Brad Pitt and George Clooney, but, you know this is nothing new.  Jesus has been rejected and slurred for centuries.  Why should now be any different?

Good to see you are up right now, Chrystal; such a familiar site brings joy to my soul, as I’m sure it does to many others. You are a true blessing.

There is nothing new being said, as sad as it may be; that’s the way of the world.

However, and it’s a big one, we Christians should never be surprised as to how the world is. So let us respond as we’re instructed: to love, pray, be vigilant and keep on declaring that Jesus loves us, died for us and there is no one else by which salvation can be achieved.

I must encourage the Body of Christ right now– please beloved, do not be weary in well doing; if we give up, then who will tell of our Savior’s promise? I know how hard and how difficult our present times are–go, go, go and know our Father will never leave us nor forsake us. His Holy Spirit will pave the way… He will do as He said.

May our Lord be with you all.

    Your sister-in Christ,
    Kate

I remember one of the Beatles who said the same thing….he is gone and Jesus is still here….

  3. Jesus Wins says:

John Lennon said the same(Well, almost..) Check out how he ended up.

  4. vintagegirl says:

Amen, Rev.’s Kate & Rich! May we continue to pray and reach out to the ones who are lost. I, too, was once lost and am so eternally grateful that I have been found. May we never give up on a single soul!

    • Rev's Kate and Rich M. says:

Hi vintagegirl. I am so glad to hear from you and talk to you again! I am so happy to hear from our beloved Christian family.

Yes, never, never give up…’til our last breath, we shall declare that Jesus is lord!

Thank you for your faithfulness… Jesus never forgets!

      Kate :)

  6. SLIMJIM says:

Jesus I know, Brad I have not met, but Jolie I’ve seen in person…and one of the things that shocked me was how much of a frail mortal she was outside of the red carpet and movies. Jesus is the one who’s bigger…because He is Lords of Lords, and Kings of Kings…

In a strange way, he’s actually telling the truth. We are in the end times and nobdy wants to know Jesus, at least not the real Jesus of the scriptures. There’s the WOF movement and all those charismatic/spinoffs wheer prople go to a “church” but not to hear about Jesus. They go to be told how “god” is going to bless them and make them rich:

“Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.” Amos 8:11 & 12 KJV
