Katie Souza: Demonic Kings Hinder Your Healing

Ever hear of Katie Souza?  That’s about to change, because I fully intend to introduce you.  Katie is a former meth/drug addict, and an ex-convict who was saved in prison.  She now has a ministry called, “Expected End Ministries.”  You can find that by clicking here.  Souza is one of Patricia King’s partners, and she even has her own channel on King’s XPmedia.com.  If I decided to apply “guilt by association” to Souza because of that, we would be justified in doing so.  Patricia King never endorses or partners with anyone who is Biblically sound.

In the following video, Souza explains that one reason people aren’t being healed is because demonic kings are hindering it.  This is what she says you have to do to deliver or receive healing.

Souza says that while she was praying for healing for her mother, God instructed her to go to a church in Redding, California so that she can receive the Matthew 10 anointing that Jesus gave to his disciples.  The very same anointing that drove out demons and healed the sick.  The name of that church?  Bethel Church.  The pastor of that church?  Dominionist Bill Johnson.

When she got to that church, Souza says she received that anointing, and felt the “liquid power of God” fill her body.  So, she goes back to her mother and prays for her……. nothing happened.

So, as you might imagine, Souza is a bit confused and asks God why.  She claims that God tells her to go to Matthew 10 and read the order in which Jesus spoke about that anointing.

Here’s the order in which the anointing flows (according to Souza):

  1. Jesus gave the disciples authority to drive out evil spirits, and then…
  2. To heal the sick.

So, first, you have to drive out the devil, and then you can heal them!

So, Souza says that when she got that revelation, she began rebuking every evil spirit on the planet off of her mother.  Guess what happened?  Nothing.  Uh-oh… must’ve doubted without knowing it.

Nope.  She once again asks God why, and this time God supposedly tells her that she’s fighting the enemy, but wouldn’t ya know it?  She’s doing things in the wrong order!  Ooooooh!  Of course!

So, not only does everything in the Bible operate in an order, but so does the kingdom of darkness!  Souza explains that the kingdom of darkness is like an army, and there are ranks in an army.  There are generals, lieutenants, colonels, privates…so, if you start knocking ‘em down from the top and work your way down, you’re gonna win the war.  But, if you start from the bottom and work your way up, you’re gonna get messed up!  So, when she wrapped her mind around that revelation, she says that God took her to Ephesians 6:12 because she says that scripture defines the ranks in the kingdom of darkness.  Let’s look at it.

Ephesians 6:12:

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Here’s what Souza says about that verse…. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the despots, against the powers, and the master spirits who are the world rulers of this present darkness.”

A despot, Souza explains, is a tyrant king.  Who are his soldiers?  The powers and master spirits.  The powers are angels, and the master spirits are foot soldiers of the army.  This is the order.

Once she got that, God said, “Once you fight and conquer the king, the powers and master spirits will submit to you.”  “Where is that in the Bible?” she asks God.  It’s in the story of David and Goliath!!!  David kills Goliath and cuts off his head.  Souza explains that removal of the head symbolizes removal of headship.

*blank stare*

Guys, this isn’t even scripture twisting.  This is ding-bat Bible doctrine.

To get the full jist of what she means, and to hear her explain the David and Goliath connection, just watch the video.

Staring straight on into the camera to denote honesty? check.
Hands constantly squaring around face to make us focus there, where the lies come from? check.
Modulated, measured tone while telling the story? check.
Multiple false teachings flowing by so fast that you almost can’t catalog them? check.
God revealing special revelation to HER? check and double check.
    This woman is a pro.

  2. Carolyn says:

Ya, Chrystal… *Blank stare*… But you must admit that she spins a good tale. I mean, I’ve certainly never head the David and Goliath story from the angle of a whole spiritual dimension that is unmentioned anywhere in the Bible…so many voices, so much mysticism, so many lies.

Sometimes you just get too many different flavours going with the Word of God (spicy, ranch, honey mustard, hickery smoked). I prefer the original. It’s the one the Spirit of Truth prefers also.

  3. Robert L. says:

In Matt.10, Jesus gives his disciples an annointing……that same annointing can be yours…by buying her healing ministry tapes Wow. Doesnt she know that the annointer lives in God’s people today ? ” He who is joined with the Lord is one with the spirit of Christ ” We can now learn to break demonic curses over us ? Wow. Doesnt she know that when Christ went to the cross He bore the penalty of the curse of death & the curse of sin over us ? No more curse.
I will admit there is a demonic army out there, but the real difference isn’t God vs.Satan, its the God of this universe who spoke the worlds into existence against a flea. There is no comparison. She hasnt a clue of what the riches of God’s grace has done for us. My fear for this nice girl/former meth addict, is that she find her way back into her old drug habit. She needs to get ahold of a revelation of Jesus Christ, and who we have become in Him.

  4. Paul Gesh says:

    Katie Souza’s tall story!

  5. Mike A says:

“Guys, this isn’t even scripture twisting. This is ding-bat Bible doctrine.”

    You said it best

  6. Ruitje says:

This woman is a clone from Patricia King. The same stare in the camera, the same way of speaking and using hands, the same false spirit…

  7. Rev's Kate & Rich M. says:

Ding-bat Bible doctrine is an understatement!

I do not understand the use of these incantation-like prayers: call this one out and curse it; damn that one, rebuke another one– then, ya gotta let that spirit know you’re the boss before such and such, so the other one can leave; oh…I forgot… run around the yard 4 times with a hickory stick so you can beat the ever livin’ tar out of ‘em all before they get you, and if they get you first, then who’s gonna be left to drive out the demons!

    See how stupid that sounds?

What ever happened to Ms. Souza’s mother who was sick–did she make it, did she go to a doctor before all this lunacy took place. I hope so because she won’t stand a chance. Who can?

Just crazy, crazy stuff–too nuts for me. K

  8. IWTT says:

    and then go here…

  9. Doug says:

This seems to be the new idol thingy for this season-I’ve seen books recently about how to have control over demons, how to exorcise and battle them, from alleged Christian writers.
Keep away. Don’t mess with demons. Remain close to God and demons will leave you alone.

  10. ceejay says:

You are harsh and unloving……..Jesus showed many different ways for healing… Ms Souza is presenting one aspect (ie deliverence)…….We’re told the world could not hold all the writings about what Jesus did while on earth……so we’re are thankful we have the slim NT (compared to the large OT). Ms Souza concentrates on the relationship and focus on Jesus as central to healing; deliverance or otherwise. Christians need to work together in unity as His Bride……otherwise what, or rather who, do the arguing Sunni & Sheaite muslims see that we represent?

  11. Shannon says:

TBN condones her???? I knew they had issues, but now I realise how many-RUN!

  12. Daffydil says:

Well. Maybe that blank stare is because the spirit of truth that she has chosen to hide in the depths of her soul can’t believe this garbage is coming out of her mouth. Beyond that, it could be useful as a hand and triceps exercise video.

  13. Grant says:

If you take this lady’s revelation on “how to” and all of the other Sid Roth TV show promotions on “how to” that were supposed to have been given out by Jesus, how do you know which one is the real ” how to”

seems like a works based philosohy to make money off people who are into a phase in their life

  14. Sadparent says:

    Ceejay,
Try and remember that Jesus warned (more than just once) that there would be great deception in the last days. We are, right now, living in those last days — and believers, such as yourself, are allowing experiential worship to supercede the word of God. That’s not only foolish but dangerous as well.

  15. Kiwi Dave says:

@Ceejay, the Apostle Paul gave us this admonishion and instructions regarding self appointed “prophets” like Katie Souza:

“That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.” Ephesians 4: 14 – 16 KJV

  16. ceejay says:

Thank you for your reply……..yes Jesus did warn……hence the purpose of the site I understand…..He also emphasised the 2 important commandments……as well as John 4:23-24….. so seeking intimacy with God is our purpose and through worship is a good start. Mother Teresa said in one of her letters; “Love Jesus – live with Jesus that you may live for Jesus”….she had a burning passion to reach souls for Jesus and people like Ms Souza have that desire too – just a different style.

(Technically we are in End Times rather than Last Days that passed away in AD70, see Dr North’s many free books at : http://www.garynorth.com/freebooks/sidefrm2.htm he is a hard core Presbyterian with the most amazing capacity to have synthesized and produced over 30 years, the economic implications of every Bible book, among other prolific and substantial writings, for building God’s kingdom on earth in a financial sense etc). You will probably like his pragmatic approach as he says things like “people are not in Church to be entertained”. )

  17. IVAN says:

Thanks for your article.i have been battling to receive healing for years. i have a lump at the back of my ear almost the size of a tennis ball. There are other lumps on different parts of my body.I also have a strange whistling sound in my head, for many years.I am also battling with double hernia. But what is amazing is i believe that GOD will heal me.After reading your article i was very encouraged to know that there is an order in the demonic kingdom. From today when i engage the enemy i will do it in an orderly way ,starting with the tyrant king.I will also appreciate your help in this battle.I am from zimbabwe.i.. I will let you know about any victories that take place.I am a born again believer.

  18. It seems pretty clear to me that this woman is pretty confused. She’s just taken parts of the Bible that confirm her theories and stuck them together, in a collage fashion. These over optimistic ‘self-help ministries’ really do my head in as they detract from the collective, community-focused, ‘love thy neighbour’ approach that I believe the Christian faith to be all about; and lean precipitously toward an individualistic, ‘I want’ mentality that is self-serving and potentially idolatrous. And would these televangelists please stop banging on about how God can help with your FINANCES! The love of money is the root of all evil!

  19. Rev's Kate & Rich M. says:

Brother Ivan, I am so touched by your story–I, and our wonderful crew here at Slaughter, for sure, will be praying with you and for you.

Yes, our God is the Great Healer, our salvation–He can and does heal.

You are from Zimbabwe? God is as real there as anywhere else on earth.

What is so wonderful about our Christ is that His sacrifice on the cross has made it very, very easy to talk to and be with Him–imagine, the God of the universe is closer than a brother; a simple call to Him and He promises rescue.

Finally, I hope you have availability to immediate medical care, Ivan, it seems you need it. Promise us you will seek help asap–and keep believing God as we all will.

    God speed… K & R

  20. Poindexter says:

Wow, you people almost make me embarrased to be a Christian. I never seen so much prideful, self-righteous judgmentalism on one page before. And this from supposed Christians. I can almost feel Jesus’ righteous indignation when he yelled ‘you brood of vipers’ to the Pharisees. Some of you know it alls may want to examine your own heart before tearing into the hearts of Gods children. Who are you to judge other peoples motives!?

  21. David Green says:

That’s some serious judging you just did there Poindexter.

  22. dulac says:

Hmm. It’s a common practice in deliverance ministries and exorcisms to find out who the strongman or principle demon is. What Katie is saying isn’t original to her even if she does claim revelatory guidance. I do agree with Robert L. on the anointing aspect though — smells of guru worship and the New Age marketing of spiritual goods. Could be she doesn’t know any better given the rampant promotion of syncretism.

  23. shane says:

I just love how people play the Pharisee card and then break out their judgement hammer on people they accuse of being judgmental. What do I have to say to those people? 1Corinthians2:14.

  24. Rev's Kate & Rich M. says:

Poindexter–love it! Well, let’s see, ya got to get to know these folks here–completely harmless!

Ms. Chrystal knows exactly what she’s putting up to raise the eyebrows and shake some sense into some folks.

The tricky part is, are we going to fall and become obnoxious or politely answer with intelligence and use God’s word as we’re instructed to in love.

Keep smiling there folks! :) K

  25. Rev's Kate and Rich M. says:

Brother Ivan from Zimbabwe, any new updates on your health? It’s been a week, what’s happening?

    God’s best– K

  26. Many will believe a lie and be damned. The Holy Spirit doesnt need to put on a show for no one.He is there to lead you into all truth……If you are searching after it.

  27. Rev's Kate & Rich M. says:

Hi Chrystal–did you write that new post? Who’s hacking now? Doesn’t look like your writing style. K

  28. Carol Evans says:

I’m always horrified at people who criticize other ministries which are bearing much fruit. God spoke to me through a dream about the fall of Demonic kings. This was before Ide even heard of Katy Souza. Go and tell people who have been healed through Katy s ministry after suffering for years that her teaching is incorrect.
You shall know them by their fruit!!

  29. Rev's Kate and Rich M. says:

    Hi Mom!
Hysterical! How sweet is that, Momma leaving her wisdom–give her a kiss; and what other nuggets does she care to share? :) K

  30. roxanna quinn says:

Unless you have been in the trenches face to face with demonic power you have no idea of the battle that the enemy wages for the hearts and lives of men and women. He works stealthily and will usurp territory that does not belong to him; he must be forcibly removed. If a person in deliverance ministry is working in one accord with the Holy Spirit for someone’s freedom then that person will receive from God the words to say to break all claims to the person receiving ministry. Often that involves words of knowledge and discernment which display God’s power and authority in the situation to the worker and the oppressed. I have seen things that would make a person not filled with the Spirit of God run with their tail between their legs… We must not fear, but we must not be ignorant of Satan’s devices. What better person qualified to work with those coming out of bondage than someone who was in bondage herself and is now free to help set others free through the mighty name of Jesus Christ? Who cares if she is instructed to pray to cut off Goliath’s head? It certainly cannot hurt! As I understand it, there is a heirarchy at work in the demonic realm. I have observed that demons fear punishment from their “commanders” for not fulfilling their assignment to utterly destroy a person. Brothers and sisters, let us get about the Father’s business and stop bickering about whether demons are actively destroying people’s lives… They are, and we are called to set the captives free!

  31. Amy says:

roxanna….I totally agree. Our focus needs to be on Jesus, the Author & Perfector of our faith. He did say we would know His followers by our love & the fruit that we bear. I don’t always agree with everyone else’s doctrine, but I can still reap a righteous person’s reward by simply accepting them as a righteous person. Not one single believer will ever have 100% truth…..that’s why God gives us the body. Until we are with Him there will alway be some error in our doctrine.
    Blessings

  32. al says:

i have listened to katie souza . i listened to the glory light , ascending into the supernatural and things that block our healing . not at one time is she telling anybody to believe in her and follow her methods .
she is constantly praising GOD for what has happened in her life , she is constantly telling people to develope their own praise and worship life with GOD and she is constantly telling people that they will have to develope the style that works for them .
does the scriptures she give seem to match what she is saying ? yes they do ,but who’s job is it to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling .
everyday someone is claiming they had an out of body expirence with god and went to heaven , are they all liars too ?
so what if you bought her 30.00 cd and got a healing or found out how to get a healing ,or maybe you did not get healed , you are paying 5 times that much for one of those ongoing doctor visits that you are seeing no productivity from .
is not this the same holy spirit that was in john the baptist , was in jesus christ , that taught the apostle paul , and is also in you right now if you are saved ? then what makes you all think that GOD is not still bringing fourth prophets , prophetess , and apostles still today , and who are we to decide who is what because it does not line up with your historical mana that you have always received from the past or your inability to receive or believe that GOD is showing yet another part of him in a different fashion .
like christ told nicodemis ” how can you believe the things of heaven ( supernatural ) when you are so earthly minded ) .
wake up , how come everybody can make money except GOD’s people .
try the 40 day fast and study jesus for 5 months and come back and post your comment . if it is still negative , then we need to cast the devil and his kings out of you .

  33. ceejay haymen says:

Good support 4 the different parts of the body and I love the ‘ 40 day fast and study jesus for 5 months’ suggestion :)

  34. Kiwi Dave says:

Katie Souza is a false prophet! The simple giveaway is the first two words in the title of her video:

    “Demonic Kings”.

She immediately puts The Devil ahead of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She didn’t use a title like “Jesus Will deliver you from Demonic Oppression”. The reason why so many who comment are seemingly afraid of the Devil is because that are his servants. That includes Katie Souza, Benny Hinn, Paula White and all that teach this garbage “the Devil this” and “Demons of that”. Where is God in all of this? Jesus is mentioned as an “afterthought” and the whole focus is how an indivdual can “beat the Devil” by standing in his own strength. That’s not what Jesus taught:

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” John 15:5 KJV

Katie Souza and amny others have swallowed the lie of the Devil, and teach his lies as fact. These are the same lies he tried to use to tempt Jesus:

“And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” Luke 4:5 – 8 KJV

The Devil is a defeated enemy, and this was promised by the LORD in Genesis:

“And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” Genesis 3:14 & 15 KJV

Also the prophet Isaiah confirmed that statement made by God:

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5 KJV

So, where do Katie Souza and all the false prophets of the WoF/NAR/IHOP movements get their doctrines and teachings? Certainly not from God or the Holy Scriptures. In response to those that make the claim we are being judgemental regarding the calling out of wolves like Katie Souza, the Apostle Paul says this plainly:

“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.” Romans 16:17 – 20 KJV
