Harold Camping – False Prophet and Doomsayer – Suffers Stroke

Thanks to Ken Silva, of Apprising Ministries, for pointing this out….

Harold Camping, the false prophet who has predicted the end of the world (with 0% accuracy), suffered a stroke Thursday.  This is from MercuryNews.com:

ALAMEDA — Harold Camping, the Doomsday radio preacher who sparked international media attention by predicting the end of the world last month, has been hospitalized after suffering a stroke at his Alameda home Thursday night.

The 89-year-old radio evangelist and president of the Oakland nonprofit Family Radio was taken by ambulance from his house Thursday night, a neighbor said, but his well-known, gravelly voice that led many believers to donate millions of dollars to his cause may never be the same.  (Source)

  1. Rev's Kate & Rich M. says:

God be with him and his wife– they are elderly. I pray he fully recovers. K

Harold Camping is a false prophet – worth millions – who has led millions astray.
Perhaps the L-RD will get his attention as he lies flat of his back – I pray he repents and publically
confesses his error before it is too late. G-D will not be mocked and whatsoever a man sows, that too will he also reap.
Many were damaged by this heretic but G-D is able to redeem that which has been lost.

  3. ali says:

Thinking about it further, how “interesting” that it appears all is well – EXCEPT his speach has been affected.

Hmmmm..!!.. We do indeed serve a MIGHTY AWESOME G-D, who it would appear has a sense of humor.

  4. Let us make sure not to peg this as God’s judgment on Camping. Pray for him and his family, they direly need it.

  5. Darrel says:

It is not wise to attempt to limit our God in any way. To say that this is or is not the judgment of God upon Mr. Camping when we do not know one way or the other is arrogant and presumptuous on our part. Luke 1 and Acts 5.

  6. mike hakins says:

I hope that the people that followed Harold Camping will pick the Bible up and read it for themselves, they would have never been fooled if they had just read the Bible and not taken Harold’s word for what the Bible says. I hope he recovers and sees the error of his way. I’ve heard he already has another date out there in October. Wake up people. Jesus says no man knows the hour or the day, so be prepared. Mike

Sure there are many out there that will do the whole “this is the judgement of God against this false prophet” thing. In reality, he’s just another old man, and like many millions of other old men, he had a stroke. No “judgement of God”, as we have no idea regarding the state of his health, diet, hereditary factors and so on.

  8. Kiwi Dave says:

I found this video on a contrversial YouTube channel where the account holder exposes false prophets and doctrines, cult leaders etc. This distrubing video new report shows the *real* effects that false prophet Harold Camping had in the real world on the lives of people who were totally decieved by his false teachings, and this is very, very sad:

  9. ian vincent says:

Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that you have received, let him be accursed.
    (Galatians 1:7-9)

Much worse than Camping’s failed predictions is the false gospel he preaches. He says that no one can be sure that they are saved; he says that people can only cry out to God in the hope, the chance, that they might be one of the chosen.

Therefore, he has been under God’s judgment for many years. The worst judgment is when God hands a person over to believing a lie.
