Paula White, Donald Trump, and Brian McLaren?

News broke today that Donald Trump has decided against running for President, but that doesn’t mean the contents of the following article has no merit.

Paula White and Donald Trump have a rapport, that’s no secret.  But, according to this article, White and Trump teamed up to host a private meeting with Christian leaders, and among them was Brian McLaren.  There’s one problem, Brian McLaren is not Christian … he’s far from it.  He has contradicted and undermined God’s Word to a point where it can never be said that he represents Biblical Christianity.

There’s still no word on what the meeting called by White and Trump was truly about, but seeing as how Trump announced today that he has no plans to run for President, it’s anyone’s guess.

Donald Trump, Paula White Rallying Christian Support?

Pastor Paula White and Donald Trump are teaming up to host a private meeting with Christian leaders in New York this week.

The Thursday meeting has been billed as a “time of dialogue & leadership with Mr. Trump,” who is seriously considering a run for the presidency in the 2012 election.

Details of the meeting could not be confirmed. Multiple calls to Paula White Ministries were not returned.

One of the invitees, however, to the meeting is Brian McLaren, a popular Christian author who is considered part of the controversial emerging church camp.

McClaren posted the invitation he received on his blog last week. It reads: “Pastor Paula along with Mr. Donald Trump would like to extend a special invitation to Brian McLaren for a time of dialogue & leadership meeting with Mr. Trump. This private meeting will take place on Thursday, May 12th, 5:30pm at Trump Tower in NYC.”

The author – surprised by both the invitation and the meeting itself – declined the invite “due to cost of travel” and has thus not confirmed details such as attendees or topics that will be discussed. But he predicts the meeting is an attempt by Trump to reach out to Christians before his expected announcement in June on whether he’ll launch a presidential bid as a Republican.

Well, I as a diehard New Yorker, a short time ago, this day, “The Donald” has dropped-out officially as a presidential candidate; fine with me.

I am more than confident he is qualified in the financial arena. However, I prefer Miss Piggy as President and Kermit the Frog as VP! I will stand by my conviction–do not, I repeat, do not try to persuade me.

    Love ya , K :)

  2. Doug says:

Trump ‘reaching out’ to ‘evangelicals’ seems wrong. Especially wrong ‘evangelicals’.

  3. 2plus2 says:

So….the Donald gets his spiritual advice from Paula White, Bryan McLaren, Marcus Lamb, et al….folks, if the so called leaders of this country can’t see thru these wolves and are seeking their council we are indeed in deep, deep trouble.

  4. Kiwi Dave says:

I wonder if they were the ones that advised him that President Obama wasn’t born in the United States? Donald Trump might even be “advised” to cover the costs of, or sponsor “Just Paula”.

  5. Daffydil says:

@Kate – Secretary of State – Cookie Monster!

  6. Whether the article is true or not — most discerning believers know that wolves in sheep’s clothing seem to flock together to devour the sheep.
Good riddance.. if only that applied to White and McLaren too.

    In Jesus Christ eternally, Jack

What would unite the likes of Trump, Paula and McLaren? Maybe the common link is that they have their hope fixed in this present world. They already have their reward.

@ Kate, I didn’t manage to catch up with Beracah. There’s a lot of political tension between Tonga and Fiji at the moment, and perhaps it interfered with what happened in Tonga. He was going to email me when he got back in Auckland on the 16th. Never mind. Hopefully everything went well for both Beracah and his brother-in -law.

  11. Rev's Kate & Rich M. says:

Oh, too bad–thanks for getting back to me.

What’s the deal with Tonga and Fiji? K
