Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
I’m posting a video of Benny Hinn to show you what mass hypnosis and the pre-conditioning of false doctrine can achieve.
When people attend Hinn crusades there are two different things they expect:
- To come under the influence of whatever power Hinn claims to have whenever he touches, blows, or waves his hand at them, and
- To be knocked down.
What we call that is pre-conditioning. It’s present even before the people walk through the door. The power of suggestion can be so strong, that it can even cause an entire section of the audience to fall on command. For devoted followers who believe Hinn possesses the power of God, Hinn only needs to utilize a pre-established trigger to encourage them to act.
A good example of this is at the beginning of the video. Hinn is praying for the pastor’s son to receive a “double portion.” As Hinn is commanding that the boy receive this double portion, he is waving his left arm up and down saying, “A double portion! A double portion!” Now, notice this. When it is the young man’s time to ACT upon what Hinn is triggering him to do, Hinn leans back, switches the microphone to his left hand, and with his right arm, he leans back and slings it TOWARDS the boy while yelling louder and with more emphasis than at other times….”A DOUBLE PORTION!” Guess what? The young man falls down on cue.
People have watched Hinn slay his followers for years using this method. They’ve seen him wave his coat enough times that they know when he does, it’s time to hit the floor. There only needs to be a signal from Hinn, and once given, he can rely upon his loyal followers to act upon it.
Here’s another case in point – in the video below, Hinn prepares the audience by asking, “Are you ready? I said, ‘Are you ready?’ I said, ‘Are you ready?’” By saying this, Hinn is preparing them to act. He even begins to count, “One! Two! Three!” And then when he says, “Three!” A whole section of the audience falls down. One might think this takes talent, but there’s not really much talent involved. What you’re seeing is the ability of a false teacher to blind his followers to the point that he can get them to fall down at will. See the horrible power of deception?
Hinn later walks to the audience and signals them by saying, ”Let the power of Almighty God rest on these people!” As he begins to touch them, they begin to fall one by one. Then Hinn touches one man who has the type of reaction faith healers love – he begins to flop like a fish and then hit the floor. Here’s an old trick of charismatic charlatans, the bigger the reaction, the bigger the show. Notice what Hinn does… he tells his handlers to pick him up. This is the type of follower Hinn can get a show out of. He tells his handlers to pick up the man, and he commands his music leaders to pick up the key (the music). He’s preparing for what he’s about to do next… ratcheting up the suspense and impregnating the atmosphere. He says he doesn’t know who this man is (don’t forget that point), and then is told he is one of the church’s minister. Then, he lashes his arm towards the gentleman and yells, “Glory of God brought [couldn't completely understand this word] on this man!” When he lashes his arm towards him, in characteristic fashion, the man jumps backward, hits the floor, and even does a back flip. Now, he didn’t do this because Hinn has the power of the Holy Spirit, but because Hinn has the deceptive power of suggestion.
He then moves on to the pastor’s son, who I mentioned above at the beginning of this post. This is how it all began with him…while still in the audience Hinn lashes his arm at him and the boy falls down. He does it again, and the boy falls down again. One thing that struck me about this young man, however, is the look on his face. He doesn’t look like he is being blessed, he looks like he is in agonizing pain. Then Hinn has him brought up on stage where the young man falls … on cue. He then goes after the pastor’s younger son, who is too immature to do anything other than what he has be taught to do by his parents and by Hinn. He touches him, and he falls. Then, sadly, he takes him up on the platform to make a spectical out of him as well.
Watch the rest of the video and see if you can spot the triggers and reactions. After a while you’ll become a pro at it.
Sorry Chrystal, I can’t watch the whole video. This is nothing short of sickening! I’ve actually been to a Benny Hinn crusade and seen how his handlers manipulate the crowd, looking for people who’ve been “healed”; but I’ve never actually seen these types of reactions! These people are worshipping Hinn…not Jesus Christ!
“…I came here today for your sons…” that is a scary thought!
I think though that Benny Hinn is just as deceived as his followers – it is not uncommon for mistake what appears as an angel of light as Christ… this whole thing is very sad!
The crowd is getting exactly what they came for – a show and a personal sensual experience and fables of healings that they take for truth. God help his own escape the jaws of this roaring lion.
Excellent article, Chrystal. I agree with you 100%. Let me add that no-one should offer a supernatural explanation for what we see. It’s not God and it not demonic either – it’s mind trickery and it is purely natural. The same thing is seen throughout charismatic and pentecostal christianity, including the events at Toronto, Pensacola, Lakeland, and most recently Mobile. In fact I suspect something similar was behind many other revivalist movements from previous years, such as the Shakers, Jonathan Edwards, Azusa Street, etc.
Let me suggest something rather provocative – having spent a bit of time looking into pentecostalism, I have a theory that the whole “baptism in the Holy Spirit” concept, and the gift of tongues, are both products of what we see here – mass hypnosis and pre-conditioning. This would mean that they are man-made emotional experiences, and not from God. If this is true, then the foundations of everything pentecostal and charismatic are non-existent, and the whole movements have to come crashing down.
I’m writing as someone who has spent 20+ years in a balanced and biblical denominational charismatic church that is not prone to excess. So I’m not coming from the outside with an axe to grind. But my theory seems to fit the facts on the ground extremely well. The alternative hypothesis has far more problems with it.
If I’m correct, then there are some pretty serious implications… What do people think, and forgive me if I’ve gone off-topic.
Each time I’ve seen Benny Hinn in action he uses God’s name in such an irreverent way. It reminds me of people who use His name as a curse and not in respect. It is hard for me to stomach hearing him. Manassah Jordan is as bad and maybe worse.
I pray that God will open the eyes of the people deceived by Hinn. May God grant them repentance that they may “come out from among them” as stated in 2 Corinthians 6:14-18.
I have always felt something was wrong with Benny Hinn even since I first came to know the Lord. Even in my early walk I realized that there was no message of salvation in his preaching. It was always healing and Holy Ghost comas. Though I do believe in healings, not all healings are real. Not all who preach healing are real prophets of God.
Jesus warned us of the day we live in. He said, “Many shall come in my name saying I am Christ, and will decieve many.” He also said that they will say “Come here, the Lord is here or go there, the Lord is there. ”
I appreciate your exposing false prophets for who they really are. Jesus never put on a show for entertainment purposes. Everything He did was real and could be counted on as being such.
Ugh-went to a Hinn crusade here in Minnesota in 2004-I was a fan of the guy for 15 years, praying with him everyday to heal me of a condition I have had since childhood. Coming home from the meeting, I experienced a horrible satanic presence of oppression that was telling me to blaspheme God. It lasted for many weeks afterwards. Now after reading this post, I totally understand what or should I say who is behind all of this. I was “blind” but now I “see.” I quit watching all of them years ago when we got rid of our tvs.
Can I just say something else? One of the reasons why it is so hard to get people caught up in this falsehood to see sense is that they genuinely believe it is true. Imagine yourself in their shoes – you’ve just had an incredibly powerful experience (from the manipulative techniques that Chrystal described). You’ve been seeking God for years, and now something has happened to you and you feel different. You probably felt an overwhelming outside force which caused you to fall over, shake, speak in tongues, etc. You didn’t make it up, so the last thing you are going to consider is that you were tricked – that would be admitting that you are a fool and Benny Hinn is a fraudster. There’s so much at stake that the possibility that it’s not God doesn’t even enter your brain.
That’s from the perspective of a member of the congregation. What about the preacher? Well, similar things to what we see on this video happen in numerous churches throughout the world. In all instances the manipulation is basically the same. Sometimes it’s done by a well-known preacher, others by someone who’s unheard of outside their own church (but if they’re good at it, they often end up on TV). And in many cases, the preacher is unaware of what they’re doing – they genuinely believe they are ministering the Holy Spirit, but in reality they have just learned to manipulate people, either by chance or by copying what Benny Hinn and many others do. Oh, and doing this attracts huge crowds and lots of money, so the preachers are not going to question themselves – after all, they simply believe that God is blessing them with a ministry.
It’s very sad, and we must remember to pray for everyone involved in this terrible deception.
I cannot help but think these people are being filled, at at least surrounded, by demons.
A friend of ours attended a Benny Hinn function and claimed that those whom he “healed” on stage had to sign a paper beforehand saying they had already been healed. I am not sure if this is true or not (my friend is not the dishonest type, though), but the whole thing reeks of a satan-filled scheme.
I’ve been wondering the same thing as anastasis. I’ve seen people that aren’t even Christians hypnotize groups of people making them think it was the holy spirit and then telling them later that they were just using them to prove a point–that anyone can do it–it’s not really God.
I couldn’t watch that video right through. I was too disturbing. I really felt sorry for the son that “pastor” who was so obviously in torment. Benny Hinn was being the big bully. Nothing seen in this video showed the love and mercy of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus. Benny Hinn is practising hypnosis and everything he does can be seen by hypnotists around the world. However, it is still Satanic as the true spirit behind this is evil. That young boy’s experience shows you that there’s no love there in those meetings of Benny Hinn, only condemnation and torment:
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” I John 4:10 KJV
Anastasis,
I partially agree with you that this and other things are a product of mass hypnosis. BUT from my studies and my own experiences, I believe that familiar spirits/demons are a huge component of the Charismatic movement. You just can’t explain away everything by blaming it on hypnosis or suggestion.
I have noticed that the babbling that my toddler makes sounds similar to some of the “tongues” I have heard in the pent/chars movement. Perhaps the modern “tongues” is just simply people reverting their brains back to the age of an 18 month old???
I just watched this video from Benny Hinn. It is socery. Terrible. Especially how he deal swith that boy. Pure manipulation. This has nothing to do with the Holy Spirit. It is demonic.
Many times I noticed that people like Hinn and Todd Bentley, when they use words with the letter ‘s’ at the end (like Jesus), they make that ‘s’ very long… Jesusssssss. It sounds like the sound of a snake. I find that very interesting. I think it shows the source of their ministry: the snake, Satan.
What Hinn is doing with those boys is childabuse!
I watched the video ’till the end. This is so wrong! It is hypnosis. You can see the trick: counting 1, 2, 3. I have seen more video’s of Hinn and he always uses the same song ‘Oh the glory of Your presence’.
Well, this is not about the presence of the Holy God, this is about the presence of a demonic force.
Those people are really deceived.
I only watched the start of the video, but in the very first knockdown it seems apparent that the two bodyguards are actually dragging the victim backwards across the stage for dramatic effect.
When Hinn was here in town, one of my colleagues returned from the “revival” and commented to me that the wheelchairs lined up on the stage — which were supposedly the evidence of several people having been healed — were all shiny and new and some still had price tags on them. This perfectly corroborated a report I had recently read by a journalist who had more or less “infiltrated” the crusades and observed the very same thing: the wheelchairs all seemed to be props with no actual former owners.
It’s hard to say how much of this is Satanic and how much is just carny trickery, but does it really matter? Either way it’s not of God; either way it dishonors and mocks His holiness and His gospel; either way it constitutes stepping-stones on the broad path to destruction.
Ireland, can you explain your reasoning? Why have you come to your conclusions?
Ireland
“I believe that familiar spirits/demons are a huge component of the Charismatic movement. You just can’t explain away everything by blaming it on hypnosis or suggestion.”
I know I have seen things that can’t be explained. Like someone that knows something about you that they could not possibly know. I lean towards the familiar spirit/demons in those cases. I believe that because I don’t believe that God would be using signs and wonders to validate their twisted heretical doctrine.
There are a lot writings out there of pastors having to test the spirit of a person who returned from a conference etc… When they do, the spirit reveals itself, even identifying itself as the name “Jesus”. Then there are the prophets themselves like Stacey Campbell. There is no conditioning going on there, she has false spirit within her. I’m sure there is some conditioning on an audience but there is just as much or more spiritual deception. I have a friends that are in this movement that I think are being led by a false spirit. They hear voices, see angels, shake, get pinned down by “the his weighted glory” and on and on. Satan deceives the New Ager’s and well as the Christians – he just changes his game plan a little bit.
@ Ireland,
You said in your previous post “I believe that familiar spirits/demons are a huge component of the Charismatic movement”. I do have to differ with you on this. Whilst I wouldn’t want to rule out the supernatural completely, I think it is very rare indeed. The things you describe can easily be produced by hypnosis and pre-conditioning, and I think we should be very reluctant to see spirits and demons behind them.
I also want to respond to shane’s previous comment – again, I’m reluctant to jump to that conclusion. There’s a technique used by fortune tellers called “cold reading” – it’s another type of mind trickery that aims to make the subject believe that the mystic has supernatural knowledge about them, but in reality they know nothing. Pentecostal conmen are known to do the same thing. Also, if you are in a hypnotic state at the time (induced by repetitive music or preaching), your perception of reality is distorted and you may have ended up believing that the preacher was a prophet who knew everything about you, but all they actually did was ask a few leading questions and made simple deductions.
For information on cold reading, see:
http://www.skepdic.com/coldread.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_reading
http://www.skeptics.com.au/publications/articles/guide-to-cold-reading-ray-hyman/
This is a good example of a topic that many Christians are completely unfamiliar with(we obviously avoid psychics etc) and so when someone brings it into the church, a supernatural explanation is offered – God or demons. The reality is somewhat different.
Jesus said “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32). I would encourage everyone to learn the truth about psychological manipulation – once you know what’s happening and can see through it all, you’re no longer captive to it. I can say from personal experience that it is very liberating. I’d also suggest that seeing supernatural forces everywhere is a form of fear and bondage that Jesus wants to set us free from.
Anastasis,
I will look at the web sites you suggest but I believe there is more supernatural deception going on than you would like to believe. When I was a New Ager, I phoned MANY and saw in person psychics at all different levels. Some were just OK and maybe used suggestion but a lot were right on and knew things that I never had told them. SOMEONE told them and it wasn’t God. There was one particular psychic that was unbelievably good and was very expensive because he was THAT good. So, familiar spirits are ready and willing to lead people astray.
The guy I know was not doing cold reading. We knew each other for a couple of weeks and he asked me about the inner ear trouble I have had. The first time he met my wife he knew she had some stomach issues. Neither of us have any symptoms that you could look at us and see. So as for this particular guy I would say there was some sort of spiritual activity in his life. Plus he has known things about other people that he possibly could not know.
I have seen a lot of things in that movement. Most I would attribute to learned behavior, con men, and the like, but some of it I would attribute it to spiritual activity (not the Holy Spirit).
I look back on it now and think how funny, yet sad, that people attribute the things they do to the Holy Spirit. I also think that every pent/chars I have ever know treat the Holy Spirit like He is some type of “force” that can be manipulated.
I thank God that He pulled me out of that zany movement.
I think both demonic activity and psychology are at work in some of this stuff. There is a guy on YouTube who is a confessed atheist and he has fooled pastors and psychics by using psychological manipulation, understanding human nature, and good old fashioned attention to detail.
It was a shake up for me when he gave ‘readings’ to people that sounded like most of the ‘prophetic words’ I had heard given to people. He does his bit, gets the people all ‘wowed’ and then lets them in on how he did it.
He’s a showman with bodyguards that know their cues
I don’t believe that humans have special powers like ESP, psychic, mentalist, sixth sense, visionary, mind reading, etc. But spirits do…the Bible instructs us to test the spirits and tells us there will be deceiving spirits, false prophecies, etc. There is an element of the supernatural that isn’t natural. I also have seen too much and experienced it myself. Just because something doesn’t work in a lab, doesn’t mean it doesn’t work elsewhere.
Just as we are sensitive to the Holy Spirit and we can be directed by Him…Christ said, “I will send the Holy Spirit and He will teach you all things”. We can just as easily be sensitive to other spirits telling us things. I know they are outside my human perception because when I test them and stop them, they go away. If you encourage ESP or psychic powers you are encouraging the things that Paul said we battle; not flesh and blood, but principalities, powers and spiritual wickedness. At any time, I could walk into the occult because I have walked in it before, but I choose not to.
Our freedom comes from knowing the Word, discernment and choosing to accept only the true, the good, the holy, the pure and to say “no” to the impure, the false and the occult.
Some in the world would like to attribute all these things to human potential. And that’s ok with the underworld, because that way the deceptive spirits can remain under the radar and do their work undetected.
I believe Benny is working much of the time by the spiritual influence of dark entities that keep him and his followers blinded by the false “Light”, doctrines of demons and ecstatic feelings they are experiencing.
Divination, Mediums, witchcraft, sorcery is all real, otherwise the Bible would not forbid it. It would just be people doing their thing.
shane / ireland,
I appreciate your comments which I found interesting. I think Paul Cain and William Branham were also both reported as having some supernatural prophetic ability. It’s hard to evaluate stuff like this, especially shane’s report. I’ve never experienced it in person as I’ve only been at the more sensible end of the charismatic movement.
@ Ireland, if you’re unfamiliar with cold reading then you could easily have been a victim when you visited psychics. The whole aim of the fraud is to trick you into believing that they have supernatural knowledge about you, so that you will give them lots of money (sounds like some in the church?). The one who was “unbelievably good” could just have been a particularly good cold reader. Remember, the idea of a confidence trick is that the victim doesn’t realise they’ve been conned.
@ shane, I agree with you about the way some people treat the Holy Spirit as a “force” – there is so much bad theology around.
Power of suggestion or pre-conditioning OR DEMONIC!!! I believe that the bible says: “When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable way of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord, and because of these detestable practices the Lord your God will drive those nations before you. You must be blameless before the Lord your God. The nations you will dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery or divination. But as for you, the Lord has not permitted you to do so” (Deuteronomy 18:9-14).
Utilizing techniques, mechanical props such as music, fog, lightshows, and even gestures….in order to manipulate a person or persons….to bring about YOUR will…and to thereby CONJURE up the desired result…that YOU desired…in order to recieve personal gain….is by definition witchcraft. Benny Hinn is a practicing witch. He enters the demonic realm everytime he does a show like this.
Here is the thing about Satan. In Matt. 4: 1-11, Satan temps Jesus…Satan simply asks Jesus to bow down to him. Simply…. Bend at the waist.. That is all Satan asks. GOD on the other hand ask for you to give all your mind, body soul and spirit to Him…but Satan just says to bow. It doesn’t have to be men in black robes and hoods with pentagrams, and daggers and chalices of blood in order to be TRULY demonic. Satan said just bow.
When Benny decieves he is acting as his father Satan. The father of lies, master of the dark craft, who causes deception to flourish, and fooled the whole world. I do not believe we can give Benny a pass and simply call him a con-man when he exudes the gifts, craft, and even rewards of Satan.
Benny creates illusions in order to trick and decieve, while concealing his true motives (monetary gain) from the crowd (which is the difference between Benny and a Vegas magician…magic shows advertise decpetion…) Benny advertises that this is all of God, while there is ZERO biblical eveidence for any of this outlandish, chaotic behavior. IMHO when Benny does magic, creates an atmosphere of deception, using devil devices instead of God devices….it is demonic. Not simply old fashion trickery.
Benny then recieves Satan’s blessings. Satan asks people to bow down and in return he will reward them. Satan’s rewards are Sex, Money, Power and fame. Benny is close to being a billionaire (I’ve heard..I can’t prove it) . He is very powerful in his WOF world, his daliance with Paula….etc. Kenneth Copeland who admits to being a Billionaire practices the same witchcraft, only Kenneth invokes the practice of using demons to do your bidding. (I know KC calls them angels)
When I see the Praise-a-thon on TBN is see a gaggle of witches. People who decieve, lie, steal, manipulate, in order to gain riches. Benny is the King of that world.
A friend asked the other day…do they know they are witches and practice witchcraft…and my answer was… I believe they have to know and actually made a decision. A choice. Roman 1 says that it is a concious clear choice people make to turn from God. These folks are not of God they are of Satan.
If you disagree let me ask you this: What would John the Baptist say? WW Paul say?
To JimmyKrackKorn,
With respect, I can’t agree with your view, for one simple reason: you do not differentiate between the natural and supernatural. This is a principle seen throughout the Bible.
The Bible’s reference to witchcraft is right in the middle of a passage that also mentions sorcery and spells. All these involve invoking supernatural powers. Deceiving and manipulating people Benny Hinn-style does not involve invoking supernatural powers, by your own admission. So it can’t be called witchcraft.
Yes, it’s sinful. Yes, it’s ultimately inspired by satan, as all sin is. But no, it’s not witchcraft.
What I’ve been arguing for, consistent with Chrystal’s insightful original post, is that we must not treat things as supernatural when they have a perfectly natural and rational explanation.
what i found in watching this video was that when benny spoke he had interpretures translating his words in to spanish. if this a work of the HOLY SPIRIT wouldn’t the audience be able to understand as in acts 2?
The Holy Spirit Comes at Pentecost
1 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them.
5 Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. 6 When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. 7 Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? 8 Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language? 9 Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,[b] 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome 11 (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!” 12 Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?”
anastasis -with respect please…..consider the following:
1 Samuel 15:23 (New King James Version)
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,
And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
Because you have rejected the word of the LORD,
He also has rejected you from being king.”
IS nothing about Benny Hinn rebellious? His stating the Godhead is actually 9 persons? His stating live May 5 on the Praise a thon that we can still sin when in heaven and then go to hell. Which contradicts Rev. 22:15 and 21:27. To me that is rebelling against God’s Word. If he was 19 years old and just starting out, missing on a few random verses or even has some faulty interpretations I could give him a pass. But this is out and out rebellion.
In Jonas Clark book “Exposing Spiritual Witchcraft” the author states on pg. 133
“Whenever someone tries to manipulate another for the purpose of advacing a selfish aganda that is witchcraft.” According to all…Benny is manipulating his audiences.
There is this:
1 Timothy 4:1-3
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; According to this Word, giving heed to seducing spirits, and DOCTRINES of DEMONS is one description of those who have DEPARTED from the faith. Would you not consider that the person BRINGING the doctrines of demons and seducing spirits/manipulation is also DEPARTED from the faith?
Then real quick this:
When Saul decided that God was taking too long he decided to go see the witch of Endor for quicker results… 1 Samual 28:6-8 ” When Saul inquired of the Lord, the Lord answered him not, niether by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.” So God supernaturally speaks through these methods according to 1 Samuel 28. It goes on to say, …”Behold there is a womqn that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.” A familiar spirit is supernatural. It’s in the bible.
No lets go to a book recommended by Bud Press at Christian Research Services “The Confusing World of Benny Hinn.” On pg. 169 there is a sub-chapter entitled,
“Confessions of Occultism.” This deals with accounts in which Benny openly boasts about his involvement in activities which according to the bible are Occult/Witchcraft/Supernatural. I will cite one: When Saul was freaking out he went to visit a witch. This witch had a familiar spirit. Familiar Spirits are according to
Hebrew owb or Hebrew Lexicon- a mumble as from a water skin because of it’s hollow sound; a bottle; a necromancer or ventriloquist.
A necromancer is someone who talks to the dead…and is the same as using Familiar spirits according to The Hebrew lexicon which is Brown, Driver, Briggs, Gesenius Lexicon; this is keyed to the “Theological Word Book of the Old Testament.”
on pg 177 of “The Confusing World of Benny Hinn” Benny tells of A VISION (according to 1 Samuel 28 dreams and visions is one way God spaeks supernaturally) Benny said,” the vision was as real as me and you right here”…this is how Benny prefaced it to the live audience… It is a vision of Kathryn Kulhman…and Kathryn speaks to Benny, as “electricity went through my body” …
then on page 181 the authors calls this sub-chapter “On Deadly Ground” is the story of how Benny says he recieved his annonting. It was at the grave site of Amie Simple McPherson… Benny decribed this gravesite as “supercharged with a SUPERNATURAL annointing.” Benny goes on to descibe such blasphemy as 7 ft. angels bowing on either side of Aimee’s grave because she was so anointed. (Question? Who do angels bow down to?…One Jesus Christ. Period)
I could go on and on.(..like youtube Benny Hinn growls and calls down curses.) This is when many believe Benny was demonically possesed and was gutterily growling out curse to those against his ministry…not the individuals BUT THEIR CHILDREN.
Now does Benny still sound like a common con man? This is all I was trying to say. There is too much evidence of Benny’s involvement in the supernatural dark side, to not go ahead and call a spade a spade…and that is Benny is a practicing witch.
Every battle is against spiritual darkness and evil spirits. Satan leads people astray and so does Benny. Benny manipulates which is as witchcraft! We are conditioned to live in a physical world. As Christians we accept God as supernatural but often scoff at the dark side as hollywood, explained it away, poo-poo it, but supernatural works both ways.
One more point if I may….I have seen footage of Benny “laying hands” on people and they do not simply fall. they are literally “shot” back like out of a cannon, 6-7 ft. and more.
If you were to stand up and from a flatfooted position…try and jump back and see how far you go…you will see my point. How are these people literally being thrown through the air? Power of suggestion tells them they are going down on cue….but body tossed back 6-7-8 ft feet in the air? It is supernatural in my opinion. Some of these folks are old and can’t barely walk.
I have also seen Benny have words of knowledge or knowledge of the history of a stranger and it would seem that he is consulting familiar spirits at that point. Like a psychic. Yes! They could ALL be ‘plants.’ I see a dark side in adjacent to a manipulating, con man.
I was doing some more research into this subject and came across some pages by a hypnotist. The following are well-worth reading:
http://stevenpeliari.com/category/mass-hypnosis/
http://stevenpeliari.com/about/
Let me quote from the latter:
Let’s look at one of the most lucrative industries in the world. The psychic industry. Each year people pay billions upon billions of dollars to have their ‘fortune told’, to speak with ‘departed loved ones’ or to ‘have their mind read’. Here’s something that most people will never realise: paranormal psychic phenomonena doesn’t exist. I’ve convinced many people I’m psychic whilst experimenting with covert hypnosis, and performed mental feats that most psychics could never dream of performing. But the thing is, it was all fake. None of it was real. And the techniques that psychics use most definitely aren’t real either. Want to know how all psychics, mediums, clairvoyants and other ‘mind readers’ give the illusion that they can read minds? It’s through a technique known as ‘cold reading’, which is a subset of Mentalism. Mentalism is just one field in covert hypnosis, which I will teach you right here in my blog.
The exact same points he makes there could be applied to certain people in the church. For example (changing a few words to “christianise” it):
I’ve convinced many people I’m a prophet whilst experimenting with covert hypnosis, and had words of knowledge that most prophets could never dream of giving. But the thing is, it was all fake. None of it was real. And the techniques that prophets use most definitely aren’t real either.
That sounds just like Jimmy’s description of Benny Hinn in his final paragraph. I’m sure it is.
Jimmy, is any of the footage you mention (people being thrown backwards) available on the net? I’d like to see it for myself.
