In the following video, you will see Todd Bentley, Jeff Hansen, and Jason Hooper commission and ordain a married couple by the name of Michael and Amanda Krysty, who recently finished a Burning Ones internship with Todd Bentley and Fresh Fire Ministries.
What is so odd is that Bentley is commissioning and ordaining them as associates of…..himself….. Todd Bentley. I never knew a person needed to be ordained for that, did you? To clear up any confusion as to what is meant, Bentley explains that as a result of this ordination/commissioning process, the Krystys are coming under his covering.
As is to be expected from anything Bentley and others at Fresh Fire/MorningStar do, there is a lot of twitching and jerking going on. Bentley describes Michael and Amanda Krysty as “true lightning rod revivalists,” and upon hearing this, as if right on cue, Mr. Krysty’s head begins wagging and he begins to twitch.
Bentley starts the ritual by saying, ”Michael….shama…. tell me one word, burning ones.” In response, Mr. Krysty says, “Fire,” and his wife says, “Englightenment.”
Afterwards Bentley says, “Here’s what we’re gonna do, we’re gonna commission them. I’m gonna give them a Holy Ghost charge, and then Jeff, me, Jason, my wife, Jessa, we’re gonna lay hands on them all and just bless ‘em…”
He then says, “We’re gonna go from what I call a commissioning to an ordination.” By this time, there is plenty of wagging and twitching on stage. Bentley continues, “We’re gonna go from the commissioning, Burning Ones class 2010, to the ordination of two associates, revivalists and power evangelists. Clearly the power of God is on them already……”
Now, I want to stop here and say that the next statement Bentley makes is the whole reason I’m taking the time to link up this video and transcribe parts of it. This is what Bentley said……
Todd Bentley says with a chuckle: “And, of course, we don’t do anything decently and in order at Fresh Fire Ministries.” (emphasis mine)
Did you catch that? Did anything come to mind when you read that? Perhaps, maybe, a Bible verse?
Normally I would give you an entire litany of reasons why this statement reveals just one of the many reasons why Bentley does not represent nor teach God’s Word. However, I’ll leave off and just show you what the Bible says. When admonishing the Corinthian church in the proper administration of the spiritual gifts, the apostle Paul said:
1 Corinthians 14:40:
Let all things be done decently and in order.
A literal reading of that verse contradicts Bentley, but more importantly, it’s Bentley who directly and flagrantly contradicts Scripture.
A disturbing facet of false doctrine is the power people give to the deceiver teaching it. As shown, Todd Bentley has such a hypnotic hold on his followers that he can flat out speak the opposite of Scripture, word for word, and get away with it. His followers eat it up, swallow it, and continue to follow him. I can’t help but wonder if any of the people who heard this that night had a check in their heart. Did their mind flip through the pages of Scripture and remember that 1 Corinthians 14:40 says, “Let things be done decently and in order?” If so, how long did it take before they pushed it out of their mind and disregarded it?
As Bentley continues, he speaks over the Krystys and with a big “BAM,” says he is going to send them out as Holy Ghost wrecking machines for Jesus. Don’t bother looking for that in the Bible – you won’t find it there.
Bentley closes by encouraging viewers to pray about having the Krystys in their church and then says, “They’ll be here, rolling around in the floor.” Yes, that’s exactly what I look for in a minister (sarcasm).
This is perverse.
When Jesus commissioned the disciples, He told them He was sending them out to make disciples of all nations. But, what kind of disciples is Todd Bentley making? While he and his friends are rolling around in the floor getting a giant snoot-full of the deceiving spirit which has them bound, many are looking on and watching. Some will see this and be seduced by it. Some will see it and believe this represents all Christians, and thereby be repulsed by Christianity and its message of salvation. But, thank God, there is still a remant in the church who refuse to bow to false doctrine and will steadfastly stand on the Word of Truth in these days of darkness. To them I say, “Continue to fight the good fight of faith!”
See you on the front lines.
(HT: Bud Press)
Okay, Mr. Bentley, “….we don’t do anything decently and in order at Fresh Fire Ministries.”
That’s the problem, there’s not much decency and order done– God is a God of decency and order.
How and why would God have created us, a miserable, pathetic lot of sinners and not have a fail-safe remedy to man’s dilemma which is: we are going nowhere without the blood of Jesus on the cross; to go to a safe place in the arms of a loving Savior, after we royally messed-up in Eden. Hmm.
A goofy dude is he, yes? K
Todd Bentley said around 1.38 minutes or so……We don’t do anything decent and in order at fresh fire ministry….. What a mockery to the Holy scriptures…….. 1 Cor. 14:40 says Let all things be done decently and in order. KJV
This man make my blood boil……..I’d like to give him a swift……..Well I will just keep that thought to myself , so I do not have to repent. God bless.
Chrystal,
I am sorry I should have read your article first before I posted. You already said what, I said. I amen what you said …….Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s me again. By the way Jessa looks like she has a bump, she looks pregnant.
beyond comprehension
I’m pleased to see everyone dressed appropriately for the occasion.
Their use of Jesus’ name or holy Scripture is (as it always has been) a mere ruse. As Paul says, in 2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
Everything about Bentley and his crowd is repulsive. One benefit is, that except for the most fanatical supporters, the rest may eventually see through him as he grows worse and worse. Let’s hope. And pray that the Good Shepherd rescues his own from their grasp.
Stan
There are some occultic connections to the terms fire and enlightenment:
Prometheus bring fire and enlightenment to men from the gods
This occultic website http://goldring.wetpaint.com/page/SPIRIT+FIRE+INITIATION
replace initiation with the word internship
The terms also related to practice of alchemy
One more reference. There may be a similarity with the concept of kundalini dragonfire.
this website has an animation. Note resemblence to symbols on the freshfireusa.com website
Thanks for breaking this down, Chrystal. All I kept thinking of was the Kundalini spirits these guys are possessed by. I’m sure most of your readers have seen these videos, but just in case: http://airo-cross.blogspot.com/2010/10/charismania-when-false-spirits-enter.html
I followed another video after watching this one and it shows that Michael Krysty leads up Joel’s Army.
This is a perfect example of deception – when someone clearly says something contrary to the written word of God and yet people believe in and follow them anyway. It reminds me of this verse:
I’d leave a comment but all I can say is “AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH” out of frustration.
Prophecy fulfilled before our very eyes . . .
3 For the time will come when they will not endure the sound doctrine; but, having itching ears, will heap to themselves teachers after their own lusts; 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside unto fables.
2 Tim 4:3-4 (ASV)
1 But there arose false prophets also among the people, as among you also there shall be false teachers, who shall privily bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master that bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their lascivious doings; by reason of whom the way of the truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And in covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose sentence now from of old lingereth not, and their destruction slumbereth not.
2 Peter 2:1-3 (ASV)
Chrystal:
This needed to be posted and exposed. Thank you for doing so.
For me, the video brought back bad memories of the Lakeland Outpouring revival (and other counterfeit revivals within the Prophetic Movement).
Bentley’s actions and words clearly demonstrate, again, that he has no fear and respect for God and His written word, nor is he concerned with the spiritual welfare of the small crowd that participated in the service.
Frankly, what took place in the video is occultic at best and spiritual insanity at worst. It should serve as a thunderous wake-up call to Todd Bentley’s followers that Fresh Fires Ministries is nothing more than a three-ring circus act that is manned by silly clowns with painted smiles.
The Prophetic Movement is cultic, occultic, heretical, and blasphemous. If the small crowd of people in Bentley’s audience truly loved and trusted Jesus Christ, they would not have tolerated what took place for one second.
Todd Bentley is not a Christian.
“Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:12-13).

They could have least dressed up
a little bit, maybe wear a tie for this special time in their lives after such an extensive Theological training program.
What a dog & pony act.
If you listen to what the “spirits” are saying through these false prophets, you will get an idea of the origins….
Notice that Todd said shama…….what has that to do with the Bible? Shama Bhakti Yoga…how about that?
Enlightenment? That also has to do more with Eastern religions than the Bible.
Maybe we should call him Guru Bentley.
What are these burning ones, lightening rods and power evangelists channeling? Listen closely, search the scriptures…and you will find a strange blend of angel whisperings, glory gallivanting, heady Bentleyisms and heavenly hangovers that have absolutely nothing to do with God’s plans and purposes.
2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
The words mentioned by the Krystys, ‘Fire’ and ‘Englightenment’ sounds like Kundalini.
These people are brainwashed by Bentley and influenced by demonic spirits. I hope God opens their eyes so they will see the truth, but I fear that they are to deep in this false movement to get out…
Bentley describes Michael and Amanda Krysty as “true lightning rod revivalists,” and upon hearing this, as if right on cue, Mr. Krysty’s head begins wagging and he begins to twitch.
Bentley starts the ritual by saying, ”Michael….shama…. tell me one word, burning ones.” In response, Mr. Krysty says, “Fire,” and his wife says, “Englightenment.”
“Lightning rod” is euphemistic for Kundalini. “Enlightenment” in the context of this video is clearly New Age occultism. It boggles my mind that individuals would actually think this is Christianity.

This stuff makes me sick…………………………………….I use to have two of Todd Bentley CD’s before all this took place……before he was even known to anyone. I tried to research him and could not find nothing about him. May the LORD grant forgiveness to me for listening to that garbage or those CD’s………………LORD thank you for opening my eyes to your truth, the truth of your HOLY word. Your mercy and grace endureth forever.
This stuff needs to be exposed, however my heart hurt for those that are deceived by this ………..false prophet…………and doesn’t even know it. May the LORD open more eyes to his truth. May we continue to be lover’s of the truth of God word.
“For false Christs and false prophets will appear to deceive even the elect-if that were possible.” Matthew 24:24 I never would have thought that the “elect” could be so deceived-but I am seeing it now more and more-and I was one of the deceived at one time. We need our discerning radar on now more than ever before!
By the way, what is your take, posters on the new “revival” at Mobile with John Kilpatrick?
Berakah, to put it simply, it’s the same vein as Lakeland.
Just when you think a heretic can not longer surprise you……..
Mobile “revival” – Same guy who has other false “revivals.” Same aberrant stuff all over again. Phony, phony, phony
wow – he actually said “we send them out with our impartation.” DEMONIC! A DOCTRINE OF DEMONS! THEY DO NOT BRING THE WORD OF THE TRUE GOD!
This is disgusting.
Note that the Comments section for the above video has been disabled. Sometimes, the truth hurts…

This is SO clearly demonic it is just sad. I would not let this heretic “impart” anything to me. The one thing that he said that I would agree with is when he said that tonight is going to be dangerous. Oh, I am so grateful to God for eyes to see and ears to hear the truth of the Gospel in scripture alone. No need for all this circus act–I pray that they will come to their senses and repent for they teach this foolishness to their own destruction.
@ Teresa – what you said about Jessa’s bump. it does like like that to me too. the mere thought of that…and todd bently….ewww.
@ Bud – you said: “Frankly, what took place in the video is occultic at best and spiritual insanity at worst. ”
next to the Bible, truer words were never spoken. Amen brother.
@ Carolyn – I too immediatly picked up on that “enlightenment” part. That’s one of the basic doctrins of the new age movement.
They seem to have disabled the comments on this video at the Youtube site. I wonder why? (more sarcasm).
Interesting sermon (rant) about Joel’s army. Complete insanity here.
“Fresh Fire Ministries”
Fire is judgment in the Bible. Just a thought
I chose not to view this video – having seen FARRRR too many when Bentley was in his slime uh prime. As I attempted to expose him for the fraud he is – some listened others did not. We lost friends and left a congregation because of this heretic when the pastor refused to stand against this mocker of our G-D – I knew it was only a matter of time before Bentley would returned.
“Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” and, “A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud.” 2 Peter 2:22
“As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly.” Proverbs 26
Gee, I wonder why comments have been disabled when you go to the video on YouTube (it’s the couple’s channel)? At least you can ‘dislike’ it, which three people, myself included, have done.
Shoot me– please. K
Watching this video brought such a sense of profound sadness. My family once attended the same church as one of the participants in this video. Neither family attends that church any longer, but we knew them fairly well. It’s hard to watch people you know doing this stuff, along with knowing that those who should know better are giving their approval.
We have the mandate from Christ to go and make disciples of all nations, teaching them to observe all that He has commanded us. What must the unbeliever think when we testify to them of Christ and they see this type of behavior? This is supposed to be the image of a Holy and Righteous God who is calling people to repentance? Why would an unbeliver want to follow the commands of a Savior who causes his people to act in such an assinine manner?
My greatest concern is that they are making a mockery of the Holy Spirit with no concern for their offense. I fear for the judgment to come upon His church for our lack of discernment and the strange fire our leaders, and ourselves, have brought to the altar.
According to the Fresh Fires website, the cost of that internship is 5,000.00 dollars. Yeah, people actually pay for this…what a waste.
@Frank, you are right, fire is judgement.
I hear those extreme charismatics cry out for the FIRE to come and they use the frase from scripture that Jesus came to baptize with Spirit and fire. But they do not read the context: the fire John the Baptist mentioned is the fire of judgement.
So everytime I hear those people cry out for ‘FIRE! they really don’t know what they are asking for… They think they get the Glory and the Spirit. They believe a lie.
Just like satan promised Eve to be like God and that she would not die when she took the fruit from the tree of knowledge. It was a lie.
It is so sad.
They really dressed down for the occasion!!. TB is a mocker, charlatan, wolf, false teacher and whatever else, he’s it. He has been warned time and time again and he didn’t listen. Things are only going to go downhill for him. Why would people want to go and watch rubbish like this, surely they have got better things to do. I would love to give him a smack in the head
I don’t know if this has been noticed, but at 2:21 Todd Bentley says “separate them to ME”.
He also says …”there’s no telling how wild this party is gonna get tonight…” at 3″05!
The whole video shows a group of ungodly people. There’s nothing Christian at all about what they are portraying.
I also noticed Todd Bentley was out of breath though. I persoanlly have a serious problem with listening to any pastor or preacher or evangelist who is obese! Why? They are gluttons, serving their own selfishness, and their obesity is a manifestation of their gluttoney. Remember the words of the Apostle Paul:
“For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.” Phillipians 3:18 & 19 KJV
Even the prophet Isaiah prophesied concering what we are now seeing in this video:
“His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.” Isaiah 56:10 & 11 KJV
This video below shows Mike Krysty preaching the false doctines of Todd Bentley and Fresh Fire Ministries in Haiti, and supposedly some miraculous healings taking place:
While I’m on tghe subject of Mike Krysty, here’s a direct quote from is YouTube channel, and the “about me”, and it really is all about Dominionism:
About Me:
” Evangelist and revivalist, Michael Krysty is the founder of Inhabit Fire Ministries (IFM). As a teenager, Michael, an alcoholic, drug dealer, and drug addict, had a intense life-changing encounter with the power of Jesus while in a drug rehab. Michael began to minister personally and corporately shortly after he was saved, and signs and wonders followed. Michael began to have powerful encounters with the Lord in times of prayer for months at a time. Today, Michael travels the world with his wife, Amanda, as an associate of Fresh Fire USA to preach, demonstrate, and release the supernatural, healing virtue, and the saving power of Jesus Christ. He believes the Church must be encouraged and equipped. Michael has strong convictions that before the return of Jesus, the Church will rise up in victory, maturity, and glory to operate in the largest and greatest move of God the world has ever known. He ministers prophetically and powerfully through a demonstration of the Gospel of the Kingdom. Michael and Amanda reside just outside Charolotte, NC.”
You’ll also find the other videos here very interesting indeed:
http://www.youtube.com/user/MikeKrysty
Hmm, that’s strange. They have disabled the comments on this video. Yesterday, January 26, it was still on and there were about 3 comments. But those comments were not in favor for Bentley or this so called commissioning. They were similar like the comments here. So the Truth does hurt and Bentley is aware of it. The Real Holy Ghost is on his back, still giving a chance to repent. But it is obvious that he doesn’t want to repent or that he is pressurized by some ‘higher’ people in the hierarchy of a wicked, vague organization, because he is a Posterboy for the NAR-agenda.
One thing that I agree with Bentley on is that these people need prayer.
I am so sad to read these answers to my question about Mobile. We were so caught up in the Brownsville “revival” for many years until it started to fall apart about 2003. We were so clueless as to what was true and what was false. We were so desperate to see God move, we didn’t know any better. We are now in a trust hardly anyone mode-always checking against what the Word says. Once bitten, twice shy! Now, an acquaintance has been healed of lupus after watching the live streaming of the services. They are on a crusade now, have started a ministry and off they go…… they are down there right now to get a touch from God. This is so troubling for the Body-more sheep led to the slaughter…thanks to all who answered.
I would say we should ignore this guy, but then there are too many people taken in by him. I too thought of “shaman” when I read the word “shama”.
Berakah, do you believe your friend was healed of lupus by God in spite of the false revival or do you believe it is a false healing entirely?
Good morning everyone. Hope all you folks in the Northeast have successfully dug yourselves out of this “Snowpocalypse”!
Possibly Mr. Todd “Willynilly Thought Process” Bentley has been out in the FL sun without a hat for too long; it seems to have burned-out his reasoning.
He needs to come up north and get stuck in a snowdrift for a short while, cool down, as he… gulp… ponders and brings to memory 1 Cor. 14; 33– and hope the EMT’s have professional protocol and some ORDER–’cause he’ll never get out!
The more I read the comments, the more I am convinced he needs an adjustment; he doesn’t think straight.
K
They r receiving fire alright,a false and deceiving fire.If the spirit of God is present in those meetings, than I am a monkees uncle. If the spirit of God was present in those meetings I would think that they would be on their faces before the Lord but since it is not the Holy Spirit they can pridefully and arrograntly stand and perform the satanic rituals they perform. All Bently and others like him are doing is heaping coals of judgement upon their heads and upon the heads of their unsuspecting followers. They are and will continue in their error beacuse they love not the truth so God has given them over to beleiving the lies the enemy has been feeding them. What greives me is the multitudes of people following them down the garden path 2 destruction.
Berekah, praise God he rescued u from that deception,he rescued my wife and I from what was going on in Toronto. The devil just keeps repacketing the same ole garbage hopin people will take the bate.People get involved in this web of deception beacuse they have no discernment nor are they willing to ask questions, thats how we got involved. Its no different for many people today. They r searching for God and many are disappointed with their walk and than stuff like this comes along and it’s like a breath of life but it isn’t it’s a breath of death.I could go on and on about where we were but I won’t.The bottom line is those getting involved with this stuff get a free spiritual frontal lobotomyfrom the devil ,if that’s how u spell it
Bentley has become a perfect example that people will fall for and follow anything. He’s the most disgusting thing around and still he draws ‘em in.
By the way, what is your take, posters on the new “revival” at Mobile with John Kilpatrick?
I’d call this a kick off from the Toronto Blessing where it all began. Bentley mentions the TB and all the players on one of his older videos when Randy Clark comes on stage to join him.
http://mkayla.wordpress.com/2009/07/21/lakeland-electrocution-impartation/
mkayla,
John Kilpatrick is trying to resurrect his glory days. That’s my take. It’s the same vein as Toronto, Pensacola, and Lakeland.
Why do you keep calling yourself Rev Kate?
Whoops! I think I made a mistake.
Apologies–Fresh Fire Ministries is in North Carolina and not in Florida?
The Lakeland thing–I think I got them confused.
Oh well, either way, same mess…
K
I’m surprised no one mentioned the Il Cornuto or goat head sign he flashed at 3:58 . Just showing his allegiance I guess .
for it is written in 1Co 14: the gifts and the order in witch there are to be ministered to the people ! and as for me as a Judge I am not only G D YHWH .
Hi Chrystal,
Yes, that is true. And I noticed some time back how they were trying to grab the credit for the revival, or – “I was here first long before you were” – nothing but pride and jealousy. They defined Lakeland as the “third wave”. So what are “they” calling his comeback now? Crazy.
He was here in WA and had he been in my town I would have gone to witness first hand, take some video. I didn’t want to put out the money for the travel.
Hi brooklyn Khloe’–how are you? I’m a Brooklyn girl, too. I grew up there. And I still visit with my husband, Rev. Rich, or Rich, to friends and family.
The snow is awful and I know you guys are just having the dickens of a time digging out– whew! What a mess, right? Here too, mounds of snow and impossible to remove.
How was that 12/26/2010 blizzard for you? Mayor Bloomberg got some tough ribbing and really rough feedback, huh? Looks good for the Bklyn snow removal/maintenance crew now.
I remember your name from the John Maxwell debate we, at this site, had back in December, just before Christmas. Great debate. Intelligent and super friends.
Well, I usually sign off as, God’s best always, K, or
Kate, Sister Kate and rarely Rev.
Are you okay with that?
God’s best always and talk to you soon,
K
Good spot Tim. I did have a dream around a year or more back that Todd knows what spirit he is of – and he doesn’t yet care.
I was going to post a lot but, most were covered regarding “no order or decency” or the demonic Kundalini convulsions. But I wanted to point out “Burning Ones Internship”. The translation of this is fiery seraphim OR fiery SERPENTS!
I’ve also been noticing more and more of these false prophets giving themselves the power and the glory, which is the greatest heresy. He’s calling the great commission or ordination upon himself. Where is the Lord Jesus Christ in all of this? Instead he throws out phrases like “Holy Ghost wrecking machines”…but nothing surprises me this deceived individual.
@Erin, I don’t know how answer that-she has documentation of being healed of lupus, how that happened is a mystery to me…
They are obviously possessed by evil spirits and teach doctinres of demons. It is horrendous for them and their followers because it just proves not only the truth of the scriptures but the prophetic power of the scriptures regarding the end times. Evil has always been with us, but these things in particular are evidence that we are nearing the home stretch very, very soon. I pray that if the Lord wills, that people that are caught up in this type of thing come across our path so that we may try to help them see the true Jesus before the end. We need to pray with a ferverency for them, as God is not wililng that any perish. Amen!
Wow Tim…how in the world did you catch that? Impressive. It does make you think…
I do not trust anybody who openly associates with this man and his ministry. This is so far off the mark, it is astounding. How anyone can take this seriously is beyond comprehension. I thought TB was the worst thing I’ve ever seen. That is until I saw John Crowder…and is it any wonder those two are in kahoots. Thanks so much for the site.
P.S. Last night I read the Rick Warren/Joyce Meyer entry, and all the comments accompanying it. Until she comes out and publicly denounces the health and wealth emphasis, and unapologetically renounces the “Jesus completed the atonement in hell” heresy (and not just a few passing statements hiding behind the pages in a book, or in a sanitized statement of faith on her website), everything is status quo on how she should be categorized.
@ Tim
It was really hard to see him do that. It is amazing that you saw that, good catch. I did not even know what that meant. I researched Cornuto to see what it meant. This man is sick.
The message the video sends is that Todd Bentley and everyone who participated think Christianity is a joke, and that they have nothing better to do than mock Jesus Christ and God’s written word.
Todd Bentley is right when he said, “But of course, we don’t do anything decent and in order at Fresh Fire Ministries.” This is a flagrant mockery of 1 Corinthians 14:40: “Let all things be done decently and in order.”
Todd Bentley and others within the Prophetic Movement are no strangers to mocking God and His word:
http://christianresearchservice.com/The_Prophetic_Movement.htm
As Christians, the message we need to send is that Todd Bentley and the Prophetic Movement do not represent true Christianity, but do represent a cultic, heretical, blasphemous belief system that reduces mens’ minds to pudding and damn a soul to hell.
Bud Press
Gene: you said:
According to the Fresh Fires website, the cost of that internship is 5,000.00 dollars. Yeah, people actually pay for this…what a waste.
I completely agree with you. It makes me think of three scriptures:
Jude 1:11 they have rushed for profit into Balaam’s error
2 Peter 2:15 They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Bezer, who loved the wages of wickedness.
and
Revelation 2:14 Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: There are some among you who hold to the teaching of Balaam
Balaam was a medium, spiritist, and seer, practicing magic with occult powers. He had no ragard for God. After he had been warned and disciplined by God, for profit and reputation, he rushed for profit into seducing God’s people to sin.
Todd carries with him an air of pride of lawlessness as he takes a swipe at the Scriptures…we don’t do “decently and in order”. Here’s this verse again, fitting perfectly.
Matthew 7:
22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Todd is just proving who he is. Does the Bible talk about Todd? You bet…Todd is a student of the teachings of Balaam and passes them right along to his followers.
@ Carolyn
You nailed it darling. 3 years ago when I began to research WOF/NAR, in my prayer time I ask God what is this stuff. God impress in my heart Doctrine’s of Balaam. I knew about Balaam and that donkey that talked but that was all I knew. So, guess what? I had to research again and ask my son Dravin, who is Balaam.
You nail it girl friend……………..
Bud, on the mark. Really scary movement. K
@carolyn, yesterday I listened to a series of studies from Bill Randles about Balaam. He is stating the same as you do. And talks about those flse prophets. They are pagan when they look for power. It is a very interesting study.
http://www.believersingracevideos.com/01%20The%20Error%20of%20Balaam.mp3
Let he without sin cast the first stone.
Nice blog, but too much emphasis on what others are doing wrong. What are you doing right?
So, DP…what do you make of the Scriptures we are bringing up. Should we just ignore them too?
@ D P
I can tell you this for certain……Chrystal and some of the rest of us on this blog are contending for the faith and the truth of God’s word. That is what we are doing right…….What about you?
Whoops again! John MacArthur… not Maxwell. See what happens when I rush?
Especially on the Internet, the comments, they go all over the place.
Being perfect isn’t my aspiring theme; just doing my best to get the Good News out there. I will be more vigilant. K
@Teresa and Ruitje. Yes, when you slow down and read between the lines there is a lot being said about this Balaam character. The occult practices/paganism have always been Satan’s counterfeit for real spirituality. And unless we are in the Word, we will never know the difference.
Even then, I tried to run the two spiritualities parallel for as long as I could. I don’t know how I could have been so daft!
James 4:6
But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
……though in my case, humility was not an attribute that came easily.
I am finding a lot about Balaam on the internet. It is definitely an interesting study. And thanks for the link Ruitje.
Regarding DP’s comment:
Here we go again (boy this gets old!). Someone else who doesn’t know the difference between judging and being a watchman and sounding the alarm. Hopefully there won’t come a time when DP will regret and wish they’d listened to those alarms. My goodness, can any of us imagine what this world (and true bible Christianity) would be like, if we watchmen were to sit down and shut up, and NEVER sound an alarm?? Talk about the devil run amuck. Narrow is the way, He said.
Crystal, never ever stop what you are doing. This site is a blessing, and a learning tool for me, and many others. And those that you mention in your comment from another post about the emails you get from those saying “thank you, now I see”, well those people are worth the mud that gets slung on you from people like DP. Our Lord won’t forget your hard work in His name. Be blessed.
and one more thing, a question for DP. If it were possible to go back in time, and actually be there when Christ overturned the tables in the temple and called them vipers, or when Paul strongly rebuked the false teachers in his day, would you have faced either one of them, and said the same thing???
Dear Ruitje:
I listened to Bill Randles – very good! He mentioned that when people would listen to Paul Cain’s talks on (cassette I believe) that the player would short out or something. My brother-in-law is into New Age and went to hear a powerful New Age woman speak and the sound system did all sorts of crazy stuff like zapping, shorting out etc…
@ D P:
No one here is trying to execute Todd Bentley for being a false prophet by casting stones at him, nor is anyone attempting to use fire, nooses, rifles, grenades, or any other deadly instrument against him or his kind. Don’t confuse well-deserved denouncement of heretics with hatred of them. But, Benny Hinn said this in a TBN Praise-A-Thon in April of 1990: “You know, I’ve looked for one verse in the Bible, I just can’t seem to find it. One verse that says, ‘If you don’t like ‘em, kill ‘em.’ I really wish I could find it. … Sometimes I wish God would give me a Holy Ghost machine gun – I blow your head off!” Now, there is a direct statement of a famous Christian leader who wanted to cast a modern version of stones at his critics. I think he would be well-served to have John 8:7 quoted at him, for I am quite sure he is not without sin.
It is a righteous thing to expose the false teacher or prophet so that the church can be protected because it is obedience to Scripture. For example, Romans 16:17 says to mark those that cause divisions and offenses by teaching contrary doctrines and avoid them. You cannot mark them by ignoring them or not naming them or by not exposing what is wrong with their doctrine and practice. Jesus commended the Ephesian church for putting false apostles to the test and finding them to be liars (Rev. 2:2). I suppose that, somehow, you got taught that anything negative is not Christian love. Unbiblical Baloney. It is the hirelings who inhabit pulpits who won’t risk their secure pastor’s pay, parsonage and social standing who are responsible for this false idea of what love is. By their own unwillingness to protect their people, they model a “let-them-alone” attitude toward savage wolves like this Bentley character who rip apart their flocks under their well-paid noses. Let them repent and let their flocks go free from such error.

Amen! Eli and Stan
@slave to Christ, I had my iPod with me today while I was in hospital for my treatment for multiple sclerosis and I listened to Bill Randells’ study. Interesting what he told about the pagan habit to make people ‘special Great men of God’ where we have to go to to receive the power: that is paganism. And how they want the power, to receive ‘it’, but they don’t want God himself who wants us to act on His terms, not our terms. People who want the power, want ‘it’, want more of the anointing, they want it to use it and controle it. Just like the WOF-people who see faith as a ‘force’ they can use. It is paganism and has nothing to do with christianity and a real walk with God.
Hi DP- – welcome to a super site and be challenged. Keep posting; the more we all “talk”, the more we get to know each other.
Also, the greater our knowledge becomes — we’ll have some wisdom, which is what we’re supposed to desire above all, except knowing Christ which supercedes everything.
See you soon…. have a great Sunday. K
Compare the video of Todd Bentley above, and these videos. Warning: These videos are disturbing, but also relevant:
Dave, A witchdoctor hunting witches. How blockheaded is that? Superstition, witchcraft, paganism and mysticism…the road to nowhere. What an apalling situation.
As an update, a “pastor” that performed “exorcisms” and accused children of being “witches” has been arrested:
Now you most certainly see why not all who call “Lord, Lord” will enter the Kingdom of Heaven:
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21 – 23 KJV
This is the same spirit that is inside Todd Bentley and all his followers.
These young poeple are awesome lovers of Jesus… the Krysty!
John, which Jesus………. another Jesus.
Firstly, I agree with your statement that Todd contradicted the scripture by saying that do nothing decently and in order at fresh fire, I dont think he understood what he was saying, at fresh fire they are working in the true ‘order’ of God.
Secondly, lets have a look at a meeting that was decently in order, remember this is coming rite out of the bible word for word,
Acts 2 : 1 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them.
It goes on to say were these men not drunk, this is wat it means to be decent and in order im not saying lets go be drunk on wine in the church but i am saying lets go and be FILLED with the one who is wine Jesus Christ! lets not focus on who said wat to who but lets rather focus on the cross, lets rest in the ease of grace!
God Bless
Nic Robertson
Nic,
I can guarantee you they were not drunk, nor were they acting drunk. The people who were saying that were deriding them, not reporting what they were seeing.
As for Fresh Fire being in order, rolling around on the floor is not neat and orderly.
Let me ask you this…. if Bentley’s ministry is in the true order of God, do you consider Bentley leaving his wife and marrying another woman to be in order? Do you consider Bentley lying to the crowd at Lakeland in order? Do you consider the angel Emma to be in order?
Nic Robertson,
No, the Apostles were not “drunk as you suppose.” From the NIV Study Bible note on verse 2:15 regarding “only nine in the morning!”:
On a festival day such as Pentecost, the Jew would not break his fast until at least 10:00AM. So it was extremely unlikely that a group of men would be drunk at such an early hour.
Spiritual drunkenness in the hyper-charismatic community comes from “another spirit” [see II Corinthians 11:3-4]. Bear in mind that self-control is one of the fruits of the Spirit [Galatians 5:22-26].
To be filled with the Spirit must manifest itself according to what the Bible teaches. This is from Dr. John MacArthur,”some of those who believe the filling of the Spirit enables them to speak in tongues do not manifest the results listed on Ephesians 5:19; 6:9. They claim to speak in tongues but do not submit to their husbands or fail to love their wives in a sacrificial way; some provoke their children to anger, others are not good employers or employees. If such people were really filled with the Spirit, it would be manifest in right relationships with the significant people in their lives.”- J. MacArthur
Chaos and sinful behavior are not signs of a ‘Spirit filled Christian’. They are an indication of apostates who act according to their sensual desires.

Who is Emma? Sounds like a seance to me and that is an awful thing. K
Well, if you thought the video above of Todd Bentley was blasphemous, take a look at these:
Notice how may of these videos have had the coments disabled? I believe that this is something John Spurgeon and Nic need to watch these and consider the “ministry” of Todd Bentley and who or what spirit it is that they are defending :
Some of these videos may be old, but it certainly will be new news to many who haven’t known the origins of Todd Bentley, or some of the wild and completely unscriptural claims he’s made in the past!
@nic, you know why they thought that the people in Acts 2 were drunk? Not because of silly behavior like holy laughter, but because the disciples were speaking other languages they could not understand them. Like drunk people sometimes speak very strange. That is why they thought these men were drunk. It has nothing to do with the holy laughter, silly behavior, screaming like lions or barking like dogs you see today in the charismatic world that is influenced by Toronto.
Satan is mocking God by letting people bark, roar and laugh like fools and make them believe it is the Holy Spirit. It is blasphemy.
@ Kate
Emma O is a Japanese Buddhist god of the underworld (from the Sanskirt Yama)
“He” is deity in Japanese mythology.
In the Satanic Bible written by the church founder Anton Lavey, In this bible you will find the Infernal names of satan. One of the names you will find is Emma-O ruler of hell.
This is Todd Bentley angel name Emma, except he say’s she is a female.
You know Ms. Ruitje– you’ve got it right on, very disturbing, that barking response, unusual “silly” behavior; I cannot agree more.
My honey, Rich, and I were talking just this morning about similar behavior in a church (bless them) we attended.
Sadly, visitors, actually family, we brought to a Sunday service back in ’06 were, I know, frightened by similar actions– I was embarrassed and just the thought of God and His son, Jesus, were misrepresented– it was painful– I think we were more embarrassed for us–I know I was– yes, it may sound self-centered… but that’s the story.
The point? Ask God’s direction, test the spirits and just because a congregation calls themselves believer’s does not mean what they are professing is from God.
Gosh, I know their hearts and they truly, truly want to serve Christ–somehow they, we, get caught-up in the “junk” and the Deceiver gets a homerun; boy, does that get me BIG time!
May our Lord and Savior direct our paths, all of us, and be a resource of truth and love and comfort, to the Body of Christ and to the lost. Amen.
God’s best always,
K
@ Kate
Here is a really good article on Todd’s “angel of light” Emma
http://endtimespropheticwords.wordpress.com/2008/04/24/todd-bentleys-and-prophet-bob-jones-angel-emma/
@ Ms Kate “young “and “virbrant”….Here is another really good article that really covers allot of stuff on the angel Emma….
http://www.eternalpath.com/lakeland.html
Thanks Teresa–very didturbing. The Lakeland mess hit here in LI, NY back in summer of ’08 and it was awful. Useless $$$ were grossly spent, youth ministries sent young people down to FL to participate–it flopped big time here, thank God as it was baloney!
We high-tailed out of our old church after a while–but by then they were getting ready to boot our butts out anyway–we were becoming “difficult”, and participating in ministry was frankly, verboten to us!
“Troublemakers” that we are, we’re just moseying around sniffing the wolves trails and tails–too bad for them, ’cause we can spot ‘em a mile away.
The only problem I can tell is, the wolves are very, very nasty and cunning and if for one second we let our guard down, they’ll tear ya to pieces…

Michael Krysty website is http://www.InhabitFire.com – this guy loves the Lord… that is all im going to say. God Bless
I remember watching Todd at Lakeland on my laptop and he talked about how everyone was talking about “Emma”. Then he asked, “Who’s Emma?” It was weird. You know how people ask, “What would Jesus do?” Well, another question I like to ask myself is, “What would PAUL think?” Just picture our apostle Paul walking into the Lakeland mess. I think he would be shocked, devastated etc…. It would be worse than in Corinth. So, if you are ever wondering about something being from the Holy Spirit or another, then just ask yourself, “What would Paul think of this?”
