If you mix heresy with heresy, what do you get? Heresy? Yep!
If you mix Word of Faith with Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven doctrine, what do you get? You get a Prosperity With a Purpose Conference.
Read about that and so much more in this post at Apprising Ministries.
This is more connecting of those dots between Charismania, Purpose Driven, and the Emerging/Emergent Church.

This is just a whole big mess.
Compromise is running rampant even in true Christian churches today…SAD!
Why am I reminded of the old Billy Preston song…’Nothin form Nothin leaves Nothin’
Hi Beracah–what’s happening? You sound good. Don’t you just love this site? Gives you a safe way to express yourself and not be offensive or be offended. Did I tell you it was great for getting all the junk out of your soul, appropriately, and hearing those who also feel and think alike; and also those who do not? K
HI K – yes, I’m doing well. This is definitely a fun place. I try not to say anything that would offend anyone. But on the other hand, I’m not too concerned about it. As for me, I’m at the place where I don’t get offended at anything or anyone. They can say what they want about me, I really don’t care. If someone doesn’t like what I am, say, do, it’s their problem, not mine. I refuse to personally attack anyone and I do have great compassion for others. The Lord is growing mercy in me. I’ve learned those are 2 different things. And talk about getting things off your chest, we really need to swap e-mail addresses – I’ve got some stuff you’d get a kick out of! Not sure if I’m ready to share it here just yet. Krystal – send K my e-mail address.
Well Breacah, I’m going to be as honest as the day is long– I am careful about giving my/our personal address out because I have met alot of, let’s say nutty folk, and I have caution, and you can understand–but, that does not mean I am implying you are involved in that group. It may sound insensitive, Beracah, but my decision for now is a safety net.
I think we can all share our creepy stuff and still feel safe– you are loved, for sure–don’t think you’re not, but this is the INTERNET which equals invasion- of The Body Snatchers (LOL)! I love that movie–the old one and the remake!
There’s a way to be personal and intimate without letting the whole universe be involved and that’s why I say this is a safe place. Yes?
Much love to you and yours,
Rev. K
K -No problemo, I fully understand. I have a blog, just started a couple of weeks ago, where I’ve written about some of the ‘stuff’. Just not sure I’m ready for it to go public yet. It sure is good therapy to write it out, though. The http://WWW…..it is what it is…. and there are certainly a world wide web of nutjobs out there.
Umm..that wasn’t meant to be a link. I only typed the 3 dubya’s. The h-t-t-p got inserted automatically.
I’ve taken note that we have twins Beracah and Berakah. What corner of the world are you guys from…care to share?
I always hesitate to shine the spotlight on anyone. Sometimes there is a little explosion, a puff of smoke and the trail of cybersmoke tells me they have left the area, never to be seen or heard from again. So if you don’t care to share, just try to ignore me and maybe I’ll disappear, although that’s not likely.
love to everyone on the site….good buddies!
Beracah–when you are ceratain and sure, then by all means GO–just be cautious and resolve yourself to hear the good, the bad and the ugly, and you will–I’ll bet the farm on that one!
God’s best, K
@ Carolyn – I’m in Orlando. And wondering if I should change my username. I’m probably newer here than the other Berakah.
@ K – I’ll let you & the rest know when I do.
This is OT – Have you guys seen this IHOP cartoon?
http://sacredsandwich.com/archives/7822
Berecah…good answer…Orlando. Now for the second question…(I’m surprised Kate hasn’t asked you yet)…How old are you?
Kidding!!!
It is kind of nice to know where someone is from. Now I can picture you standing under an orange tree.
@ Berecah…visited the Sacred Sandwich place of worship. Good cartoon, LOL. It’s so great what the Lord has given us. We can have our own little place of worship, where someone shares a song that has blessed them, or share some thoughts from the Scriptures or find someone to tease. Then we can, travel via mouse over to Mike Ratliff’s place of worship (which I do when I have time) and listen to some very excellent thoughts from the Word….and Mike knows how to rightly divide the Word!! Then we can hop in our car, crank up the tunes and we are in another place of worship singing along till the next red light, when we trail off, look to the side and smile innocently at the quizzical motorist. He has this question on his face and a little furrow in his brow…were you talking to yourself ? or worse yet, singing?
And so goes our day, ending with a mouse trip back to a couple of our favourite places of worship. Aye! Worshipping God is universal for the true Christian who worships in Spirit and in Truth. We are tied with invisble bonds that make us all one in thought and purpose.
Beracah, do not pay any attention to Carolyn! I just asked her if she was a baby-boomer, that’s it.
How old are you, by the way (kidding, kidding!!!).
K
PS–Orlando, hmm. I could probably think of a few churches that come to mind–don’t say anything, the body snatchers (wolves) are checking this site out and we’re probably all being looked into to be “invaded”; something weird is going on and I don’t like what I’m sensing– I think they’re a jealous and spiteful bunch of nasty people who just can’t handle the truth.
Man it’s getting seriously hard to find an orange tree any more. You hafta drive out in the country to find an orange grove these days.
Orlando is a strange place. Been here for most of the last 40 years. My wife is a native but I’m a transplant from up north. And I ain’t skeered of no wolves. The Lion of Truth that I hang with is much more fierce!
And weird churches? Try Global Revolution Church. Then try Encounter Church.
I resent people that say they are Word of Faith Prosperity teachers. The correct term should be “word of fake”! They are not little gods that can control God like he is a Puppet neither can they make positive confessions that can control the universe, if that were the case they would not have divorces (aka Benny Hinn, Paula White, Kenneth Copeland who has been married before but keeps it hushed up) and messed up lives like all the rest of us mere redeemed and forgiven mortals.
BB – Well said! I completely agree with you!
Beracah, up north, may I inquire as to at least what region?
Weird churches–well, you must know, you probably went to them. K
K – Virginia. I went to one of them, that was more than enough. Did you google them?
Virginia? Where’s the Mason-Dixon Line, here?
Unless you’re above it , “you a Southern boy, ya hear?” No, I did not google, yet. Do you want me to? Give me mo’ info.
You crack me up, bro. K
@ Beracah…I did a quick sweep through both of the churches you mentioned. I thought that Encounter Church sounded pretty sound. Am I missing something? And Global Revolution Church sounded upbeat… although I am wondering what Visits to The Gate of Heaven is all about…do you history with this church?
OK, as far as GRC, there is no GRC. It was disbanded but the lawyers said the corporation needs to stay alive, for now. Did you find any other info out about GRC? Does the Rifqa Bary mean anything to ya? If you don’t know that name, google it too. You should find a whole soap opera of stuff.
As far as Encounter, well, ‘sound’ isn’t a word I’d use. Notice on the web site, there’s no mention of a pastor’s name? Connecting the dots…The pastors at Encounter USED to be the pastor at GRC. Before that, at a United Methodist church.
Long story short, as my sister-in-law put it, there’s some NAR, Dominionism, etc, etc, etc thrown in. The statement of faith for those 2 churches sounds great, but it was only in theory, not in practice. Trust me, this is the SHORT version.
Here Carolyn & K, maybe this will help…

Hope it’s ok to post a link here. If not, Chrystal, I understand if you remove it. This shows a little insight into the spiritual abuse from the pastors. (Notice the wife is only concerned about the money.) And yes, I was there and yes, I have forgiven them a long time ago. God has used this to open my eyes to the wolves out there. I have very little trust in any pastor right now. Don’t know if or when that will ever return. We are still healing from this. I have to say it was the worst experience of my life. The sad thing, is they still have not repented and are still leading a church, with their congregation blindly following along. I only pray they will hunger for and know the truth.
Berecah, well there you go. Experience is the best teacher. Kind of hard to get a feel for things by just visiting the website. They can sound pretty sound.
Speaking of sound, it sounds like you have had some similar experiences to the rest of us charismatics. It always goes back to the roots. If they are the same roots, then they are the same fruits. Thanks for the short version, brother…God Bless!
I’ll look that one up when I have a chance–ok? talk to you soon, Bearcah. Keep in
touch, remind me if you can, ok? K
