Benny Hinn’s ministry has posted a video on his website asking for money, and he says it’s urgent. Hinn claims he is facing a deficit of $2 million. He lives in a multi-million dollar mansion, but he has a need for $2 million more.
In the video, Hinn has the audacity to say, “Two-million is not alot of money.” I only shook my head at that. Two-hundred dollars is alot of money to a girl like me, and two-million is just unbelievable and unattainable. But, I guess when you are used to staying in penthouse suites, leaving $500 tips to the hotel staff, and driving a Rolls Royce, two-million dollars is just a drop in the bucket.
Think of all the widows-mites he’ll get as a result of this video. It’s a disgrace.

Updated to add: As Margie in the comments section pointed out – if Benny is having a money crisis, why isn’t he sowing a seed of faith so he can get a 100-fold return on his investment? Think about it.

Why doesn’t Hinn SOW A FEW SEEDS himself, then he wouldnt find himself in this pickle. Doesn’t the faith formula work Benny ? Oh well, you could always sell that jet of yours and take a regular flight, LIKE THE REST OF US DO. Maybe when you’re holed up in Italy you could stay in a Motel 6 istead of THE PRESIDENTIAL SUITE AT $10,000 PER NIGHT ! Good grief – does this charade ever end ?
Divorce settlement maybe?
He said he lost money on a crusade. What’s so bad about that? Didn’t he do the most important thing, the thing he says God told him to do?, and that is spread the gospel? Or, are you only supposed to spread the gospel when you can at least break even? Two million bucks???brother Benny probably has that in the sofa cushions. Reckon he could dig deep this time and help finance the Benny Hinn Show with his OWN money? I doubt it….not when there are so many partners out there….Timing is everything, he probably thinks everyone feels sorry for him right now since the big, bad National Enquirer is after him….no sympathy here.
Ah Benny, it’s so simple, GO PLANT YOUR BEST SEED. You keep telling us that’s all we need to do. I’ll give you my bank details.
Hey Benny, I could use 2 million dollars also. It’s not a lot of money I know, but could I borrow 2 million from you? I promise to pay you back *cough* not *cough*.
Anyway, enough sarcasm on my part. This is just more proof that people like him were written about as false teachers who love only themselves and who desire more power and more money.
Another Christian leader sucking an already failing economy from those that think he is more than he really is.
Oh please Benny. I don’t live in a mansion, haven’t got a car, work casual and only rent my flat. I have never stayed in a luxurious hotel and never will and you still want my money. You have got to be kidding. Go and get a job and earn a wage like normal people
panhandler; wait–calling him that disses the street folks.
hey benny, i read somewhere that oral r. considered branham his spiritual father. that makes branham your spiritual grandfather. when branham did not have the money to pay for a crusade, he accepted that god did not want him to hold one. when he did hold a crusade, the offering buckets were at the door; during the service, he made no mention of an offering. honor him by doing the same.
Not for a Divorce Settlement. Trust me, $2 Million wouldn’t even cover the legal fees of Suzanne’s attorneys Sorrell Trope and Ron Rale.
As sad as it is to say this, if you took out Hinn’s name and inserted some fictitious prince from Nigeria, this would sound just like one of those everpresent email scams….how anyone with even a whit of intelligence could fall this makes me shake my head in amazement. I can only hope these charlatans are “hoisted on their own petards” and bring enormous financial ruin on themselves.
Benny Hinn is not so bad.
Hinn’s kingdom is falling…
I can’t believe that there are still people giving money to him. Has Hinn sown a seed ever? Let him sow a seed and let him use his Word Faith theology, speak money into existence. And if it works (but I have my doubts) he get his money.
Then he does not have to ask poor people to give him money so he can keep on living in luxury.
Do what you preach Hinn!
God will provide. God’s provision (or lack thereof) always testifies to His perfect will.
When God does not provide, the proud man will beg for man’s provision.
I’ve watch the videoclip and according to Mr. Hinn, the Jakarta crusade was losing him money. So, when must a crusade, to spread the FREE Gospel of Salvation of Jesus Messiah, ever make a profit? Did John, Peter, Paul and all the other apostles ever asked for money to pay their efforts of bringing the gospel. NO, instead of that, it had cost their lives, their income (no fishermen job anymore), their prestige (no well repected Pharisee again), actually their anything. And if they needed some money, they worked for it. (Like Paul). If Mr. Hinn considers himself as an apostle like the true heroes of the Bible, he would have this same attitude. So, why begging for money. Why living this Hollywood lifestyle. And please Mr. Hinn and all the supporters. Don’t come to me with the poor excuse that the labourer is worth his wage. There are a lot of missionariers bringing the gospel under a lot of threats of death, physical abuse and nasty/harsh circumstances. I wonder if Mr. Hinn has the guts to bring the gospel as a careful christian in the desertlands of Afghanistan instead of that exeggerated big luxurious crusades. I wonder if Mr. Hinn will ever speak for about just 250 common Indonesians in a poor, not airconditioned building, in a tensed area like Aceh, North Sumatra. If he will do so, he will gain my respect. For now I have this attitude of let this guy just talk and leave me alone. He, and all the other prosperity egos, will not get a cent from me. I will invest it in real missionaries who spread the gospel with the danger of losing their lives. Those are the real heroes. Not conmen like Copeland, Dollar, Hinn, Parsley and other MeMyselfandI and Gimme Ya Money or I will shoot preachers.
…..Let him sow a seed and let him use his Word Faith theology,….
Actually, yes, he has sown some seed in the past. I have seen shows, back in the80′s/90′s when he would tell certain guests that he wanted to “sow” into their ministry and then I was actually in the choir twice (2 different crusade, Lord forgive me!) when I lived in Sacramento, Calif. and heard him tell a group that he wanted to “sow” or give to their ministry. Now whether or not he actually gave anything is the question. We never saw him give a check.
I am beginning to think there must be a “How To…” manual with these guys and gals. They all use the same methods and teach the same stuff and people follow them.
All joking asaide, this is sad, it is a blemish on the church that only God can clean up, but, IMHO, I don’t think HE will. I believe that since they want to do this God has turned them over, they have become the ones who tickle the itching ears and I don’t see any end to it until the return of Christ. I think it will only get worse and we need to be a people who are waiting in the wings to help the fallen so that WILL SEE the truth. God is giving us a great oppotunity here to be a part of loving those whom He will pull out of this mess.
I found this part of Hinn’s letter interesting:
“…but as I have learned over the years, if I don’t come to you and tell you the facts, there will be no way for you to find out.”
No way? How about God’s way? God has His own way of making sure HIS work is done. He does not need Benny Hinn to run interference for Him.
Rather than doing what he preaches, I hope this becomes a point in his life where the Holy Spirit of God will utterly convict him and bring him to repentance; to utterly lay him out flat because the “higher” they are and the more they think of themselves (pride), the father down the Father often has to take them before they get it.
I could wax eloquent all day with witty malapropisms, sarcasm, and just general disdain for the man but I pray, rather, that this man would be so crushed under the weight of conviction that he would cry out to God for the earth to not swallow him up. I pray that he would so moved so as to forsake all that he’s done AGAINST the kingdom of God and against the Lord Jesus, repent, confess, and apologize to the masses for his lies and deception and become a REAL Christian; a BORN-AGAIN believer whose heart is ignited by the fiery flame of the Holy Spirit.
I remember when Jimmy Swaggart got busted. Everyone thought his “confession”, full of tears and remorse, was his turning point. Well, like the dog returning to it’s vomit, so did Jimmy Swaggart return to his wayward life of chasing skirts. He was not repentant, he was remorseful. The difference is that one involves the work of the Holy Spirit while the other comes from being caught red-handed and has nothing to do with Godly sorrow.
I hope Benny’s experience is the former. Father God, I ask that You would move mightily in Benny’s life. Bring upon him a life-changing conviction and Your salvation. I pray that You would bring him to repentance. Bring him to a place of brokenness so that You could bring Your healing. I pray that You would confuse his ministry and also remove the scales from the masses who follow another Jesus. Expose the lies and reignite the flame in the hearts of those who are genuinely seeking You. I know that Your word says that You do not break the bruised reed, nor do You quench the smoking flax and so I ask that you would fan into flame those who are seeking You and bring them into the genuine Truth rather than following the lies of the Hinn ministry. Send forth the True Gospel into their hearts and deliver them and deliver Benny from the clutches of the evil one. In Jesus Name.
In His service,
Mike
Pardon the pun, but you guys are right on the money! Physician, heal thyself!
Benny Hinn is not able to see his duplicity because he is so far removed from reality and his ego is so inflated that he has become a god! He is exalted far above his subjects who are the peons who hang on his every word, who fall at his feet in adoration, sway in his presence, melt and move with his powers of emotional hypnosis and listen to him with rapt attention as he sweeps them into his mystical world of encounters with angels and supernatural experience. Meanwhile, on the ground…his marriage has crumbled, he makes pathetic denials of any responsibility in the breakup and he appeals to his adoring fans with his nauseating “the children and I” statements of being left with astonishment…!
His financial misdemeanors, his rogue and roaming lifestyle choices and now this appeal for yet another cool 2 million. Is there no sanity left on this planet????
Why do they still follow him, you ask? I know I have asked that question. I believe it is called the cult of the personalities. You see the same unfathomable worship of the celebrities, pop stars and sports celebrities. Oh the swooning, the lengths that people will go to be near their idol…just a glimpse, a tidbit of gossip, a word from them, a picture. They would travel the world for just an autograph. Back on the ground…
Matt. 7
A Tree and Its Fruit
15″Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
21″Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ 23Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
**********
The question is, what fruit are we looking for? The good fruit of godliness or the bad fruit of personal satisfaction?
@Mike Larsen, maybe this crisis with money and Paula White will draw Hinn back to the real Truth, to the real Jesus. I hope he will see what he has done all those years. I hope that his eyes will be opened, but I am afraid that he is so deep into the heresy that it takes a miracle to open his eyes. And I hope he is not blinded by the delusion God will send to those who didn’t have love for the Truth.
I’ve recently just read Rees Howells book ‘Intercessor’ which I would heartily recommend as inspirational and sound. In it, the Lord takes him through various disciplines in order to deal with his ‘flesh’ and it’s desires. One of which is that he was not allowed to tell ANYONE of his needs, in order that any provision could be clearly seen to be met by the Lord and no-one else. This discipline he learned over time and through various testings. It was a marvellous thing and releasing for Rees Howells who became a very important intercessor in Wales during the second world war. This seems to be in sharp contrast with Mr Hinn’s message which says that he has to tell he followers of his need, or else how will they know. Importantly, the Father knows all too well what our needs are and promises in His word that He is sufficient for those needs. May Mr Hinn come to a place where he can know this with all his heart…glory to Christ, forever and ever…. amen….
Well Mike Larsen, I hope God will answer your prayer. But indeed, as long as Benny Hinn lives, there is hope. Look at Zacheus, the tax-collector. When he was convinced of his sin of ripping people off, he sort of gave back the money. If Benny would have this real repentance, senator Grassley will be stunned about his sudden openess. Benny would accept eventual consequences of his vague bookkeeping. His Hollywood lifestyle would be given up for a modest lifestyle and the most important thing will be…the preaching of the real Gospel of Jesus Christ. A gospel of self-denial, picking up your cross and following Jesus. And to the unbelievers…A gospel of repentance of sin and a everchanging lifestyle based on God’s Word, it’s values and commandments. There is no prosperity message or sowing your seed, compulsary tithing anymore. Moreover it is the message with be content with what you have, count your blessings and look forward to Christ’s return or the joyful fact that you will meet Him in heaven.
And you will never know, God is a God of miracles, so He can also work His way in Benny Hinn and all the other money beggers. If Kenneth Copeland will have this Zacheus repentance, that would be a huge an cheerful upset within charismatic christianity.
Benny Hinn is nothing but a pulpit-pimp.
Rees Howell’s story in ‘Intercessor’ is indeed an amazing testimony, as well as being a salutory lesson for anyone truly committed to being disciples of Jesus Christ. Not many are prepared to commit to the unquestioning obedience which became the mark of Howell’s discipleship. Small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it. (Matt 7:14). Hmmn….
I found these two posts on another forum…. I just had to share…..
* I just saw the ‘Prosperity Prayer Shawl’ on Benny’s site for $50. If you have financial needs you better get hold of one before they go! Alternatively, if you haven’t got $50 I’d recommend throwing a couple of magic beans out of the window and then read the book ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ where you can find out how you can get some golden eggs. (I hope that won’t give the Prosperity preachers any ideas)
You certainly need one of those Prosperity Prayer Shawls if you are going to shop on Benny’s site.
I noticed he was providing a book for a seed-gift of just $35 but if you send your seed-gift to Amazon.com you only need send $16.82 for the same book.
Oh and another for $20 is just $12.21 on Amazon,
and did I mention the one for $25 that’s on Amazon for $10.07, or the other one for $25 that’s on Amazon for $10.87
So lets see
35 – 16.82 = 18.18
20 – 12.21 = 7.79
25 – 10.07 = 14.93
25 – 10.87 = 14.13
Total saved: $55.03
I make that 4 books and enough saved to send off for a shawl and still $5 in my pocket
Oh and the Amazon ones come with the free delivery anointing
Right, that’s my quota of sarcasm for the day
Hey, it worked for Tricky Warren!
He is a thief
“Two-hundred dollars is alot of money to a girl like me, and two-million is just unbelievable and unattainable.”
Exactly! Good perspective.
Let’s say you make $20 an hour. And, let’s say after taxes, etc., you take home $15 per hour. So, roughly, you’d have to work over 13 hours to fund your $200 donation to Benny. Now, let’s say Benny really did stay in the presidential suite that cost $10,000 per night. It would take 50 people donating $200 to cover that one night stay for $10,000. If, 50 people worked 13 hours each to earn those $200, that would be 50 people working a total over 667 man-hours, so Benny could spend one night in a luxury suite.
But, maybe you’re blessed, and make $40 per hour. So, let’s say, you take home $30 per hour. Benny needs $2,000,0000. Well, it would take 10,000 people donating $200, or nearly 67,000 man-hours of work in order to fund that $2M.
But, hey, $2 million isn’t a lot. But $200 sure is!
Hmmmmm……I have to ship something to my daughter in NY. She’s at bible college. I wonder where I can get that free shipping anointing. Can I buy it at Benny’s website? I’m sure he probably sells a “free shipping” anointed handkerchief for $44.99. Count me in!! (or not).
In His service,
Mike
Benny Hinn will stand before God and his Christ and we will see if his works are burned up at that time.
To mislead the people of God has not gone unnoticed by God.
We shall all give an account of every deed that has been done in this body.
May the Lord rebuke Benny Hinn is may prayer.
The sad part is…he will get what he asks for. His sycopohant followers are so BLINDED they will steal to send money to him. I have about had it with his followers. They are the ones that keep Benny spreading lies about Christ, and the scriptures in order to be filthy rich. Without his followers he would dry up and blow away like dog do. I sincerely hope everyone reading this has the boldness to speak out to those that you know support Benny and let them know what a disservice they are doing to the kingdom of God and how they are supporting the empire of the Anti-Christ. It is up to all of you who read this…to not shy away from telling friends and neighbors that Benny is demonic. ..and is tearing down the truth (if that were possible) of the Gospel and…. to support Benny Hinn is to support Satan. If you do not share the truth about Benny with those who you know are supporting him…then you allowing your friends to continue in a false doctrine, which furthers the “mixture” of truth and lies NEEDED to establish the reign of the Anti-Christ. If they “HEAR” you great…if not you’ve done your job. But to be scared or intimidated is not an option….we will also be accountable.
Robin, I think your post is good. It shows us the reality of how much $2 million actually is to the average person. If only this realization could bring Benny Hinn down to the same reality.
And Jimmy Krackencorn, you are right, this guy is as much of an Anti-Christ representation as we’ll ever hope to see. Nothing about him reflects the teachings and commands of our Lord. He is a self appointed king with grandiose entitlement issues. He is a thief in more ways than we have space to relate. He has stolen the hearts, he has stolen the money and he has stolen the lime light from our Lord and Christ…instead of being the servant of all, he has become the exalted one with an image to maintain.
The anguish of my soul is that those that have been duped will never open the Word and experience the real Prince of Peace, the real Jesus, the real Truth and have their hearts opened and their eternal souls saved. They will settle for this fraud. This con man.
If you are listening to our comments, consider this. Jesus said, Either you will serve God or Mammon. Benny is serving Mammon. Christ served God. Big difference! Find out how, by opening the Word of God and reading for yourselves.
Carolyn- I am starting to agree with you in that I don’y know how many followers of Benny and WOF will get out before its too late. I look at the crowd…I know people caught up in this and when I talk to them they call me a slanderer of the brothren, accuse me of “touching God’s anointed.” I tell them Benny IS anointed. And Benny will tell you where he recieved his anointing ….From the graveyard! At Aimee Simple Macpherson and Kathryn Kuhlmans gravesite. But it will still be a huge crowd that follows Benny and will ultimately come under the Strong Delusion sent by God for He saw that they believed the lie and the love of the Truth was not in them.
It is all flesh! The folks involved in WOF are seeking fleshly wonders, prophetic word, new wine, Rheama this and Rhema that, the sacrifice at the cross was not enough! The Word of God is not enough! I just thank God everyday that he pulled me and my family out of the WOF movement and the church with the TBN preacher that we were members at.
Amen Jimmy!
JimmieKrackKorn
So glad to hear you and your family got out.
Yes, it is a strong delusion that they have chosen, especially when all their wicked works have been exposed by the Lord and they still refuse to pay attention. And they defend the Lie, instead of the Truth.
Here are a couple of verses for you”
Psalm 40:9-11 (New International Version)
9 I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly;
I do not seal my lips,
as you know, O LORD.
10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart;
I speak of your faithfulness and salvation.
I do not conceal your love and your truth
from the great assembly.
11 Do not withhold your mercy from me, O LORD;
may your love and your truth always protect me.
@Jimmy, you are right: it’s all flesh and the cross isn’t enough. People always want to add to the work of Christ so than can be proud of themselves.
Just yesterday(7-30-10) i prayed asking God for solid guidance on recognizing a false prophet because so many become decieved. God revealed to me:
John 3:30.
” He must become greater and greater aad I must become less and less”. (NLT)
Prophets are not to be in the spot light they are to put Jesus in the spot light. Benny Hinn is in the spot light way to much in the wrong way and i don’t see that Jesus Christ is being elevated here. Very dangerous territory to tread.
Also 2 peter 2:3
In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money” (NLT)
Asking for money like this much sounds very fishy to me.
I thank my precious father in heaven who loves us enough to speak truth to us to help guide us from being led astry from false prophets.
In regards to Benny Hinn healing ministry:
I had terminal cancer back in 1990 and through many prayers God healed me. I was NEVER pushed over to be healed. Prayer was the only thing and God heard and healed me.
This is a sham and a shame
Well i blame the peopel that follow him,and give there Money,it shows there Heart,so if you sow 20 dollars, you will get back 200 dollars from God, where does that say in Gods word,we need to be in the WORD OF GOD,AND CHECK THE WORD OF GOD FOR EVERYTHING WE SEE OR HEAR, dont believe that everything is and comes from God,well Jesus Christ warned us of men like him………stay in the Word for yourself……..
I think all the above have said it all. I could go on and on. But, there is no point. God warned us of faults prophets time and time again. They are self serving people. All I’m going to say is “May God forgive him, Benny needs to come to true repentance.
