Cindy Jacobs: Tall Tales and Yarns

In this video, Cindy Jacobs discusses how “Lonnie,” Jacobs’ head of accounting, had a dream where she saw four vortexes of demons destroy Generals International (GI).  In the dream, everything was destroyed except for the media arm of GI.  At that time, Jacobs claims GI was having such financial difficulty, they thought they were going to have to shut down.  To hear her tell it, they were doing everything they could to raise funds, but weren’t getting anywhere.  Thanks to Lonnie and her dream, it was revealed that four vortexes of demons were causing it.

The next night, Jacobs said that Lonnie was visited by Gabriel himself, and Gabriel warned her that Jacobs was in danger.  Lonnie asked Gabriel, “Why are we having so much trouble at Generals International?”  Gabriel supposedly responded that it was because four vortexes of demons were assigned to hold back resources that GI needed to stay in operation.

Notice anything here?  Jacobs’ friend can’t just have an encounter with any old angel, it has to be Gabriel!  See, here’s how it works.  A false teacher comes up with a fantastic story that will promote their self-worth in the eyes of their followers.  Once the story is concocted, they have to spin it so that it shows just how important they are.  That’s where Gabriel enters the picture.  You can’t get any more impressive than a visit from Gabriel, can you?  And what is Gabriel saying?  He’s saying Jacobs is being destroyed because demonic hordes are coming against her and preventing her ministry’s resources from getting through.  There it is…the bottom line every time.  If you’ll read between the lines, you’ll see it’s all an elaborate ploy to get money.  Did you think it was anything else?

See for yourself…

HOW on earth can people follow this woman? I do not want to sound unkind, but there is nothing appealing about her at all.

  2. Chaya says:

Now that is what I call a major GI disorder. Lots of diarrhea.

  3. Mickey Merrie says:

Now you see, it is just like their god to “protect” the media part, because that’s how they get their fundraising message out. Go ahead devil destroy everything, but the moneymaker….HAHAHAHAHAHaaaa…so predictable.

  4. Robert L says:

Heres a good link to Cindy Jacobs by Philip Powell…When is a prophet no profit ?

    http://www.intotruth.org/prophets/no-profit.html

an excerp….” incidentally Cindy Jacobs prophesied that New Zealand would discover huge mineral reserves and the economy would boom and as a result funds would be provided for the church and that many missionaries would be sent out. The week she gave this prophecy the NZ dollar fell faster than the Fiji dollar even while the coup was in progress in Fiji. Since then there has been no indication that Cindy Jacob’s prophecy was accurate in any way – quite the reverse. New Zealand’s economy is still in the doldrums and there is no sign of the mineral reserves. Need I say more? She is a false prophet “

There are three kinds of people in this world. Those who spout rubbish, those who believe it and those who don’t believe it. This makes me shake my head that two people with some kind of a brain could believe this stuff. I know, I know. I once would have jumped at the chance to speak face to face with Gabriel. But that was then. This is now. Now, they just appear to me as pathetic and gullible. How their delusions have captivated their senses! They crave attention and all this continual drama gives them the attention they need. And those who listen to them and fall for their money schemes are also needing attention. They hope for some pat on the back or some recognition instead of giving God’s Word some attention. They settle for this babbling….lost for words…..they settle for silly rantings about angels and demons fighting over the financial windfall that hasn’t been delivered into their laps. Wow! If only they would read the Word, they would discover a very different reason for conflict between angels and demons…God’s powerful Word being delivered to our souls!

  6. Ruitje says:

May be the devil is not the one who wants to stop GI, but God… Did they ever think that that could be the problem? I afraid they did not.

  7. sidefall says:

Chrystal, I think you’re spot on here. All the false teachers like to make people feel obligated to support them by claiming that God has given them an important role. I’m not familiar with what Cindy Jacobs gets up to, but I’ve see the same thing on publicity from Benny Hinn, Morris Cerullo, etc, and it’s all a money-making scam.

Perhaps we should come up with a list of the tactics used by these heretics. That could be number one. Another, popular with Bill Johnson, Todd Bentley, etc, is to say “I have a supernatural evangelistic and healing ministry and if you buy my book or come to my seminar, you can have one as well.”

  8. Recogniser of TRUTH says:

This is yet more of the unwatchable, unlistenable to, and……………….SICK STUFF out there.

    Please Lord God have mercy.

  9. JoAnn Fahrenwald says:

what is curious is that while talking about demons attacking them and inhibiting their ministry something one would thinnk would merit some form of seriousness…cindy jacobs is grinning as if he said he liked her hair. When they finally admit that it’s God, [for everything comes from His hand good and evil> He created the smith that forges the weapons against us ]that has touched their ministry to get them back to Him, will they still grin ,or will they fall on their knees in brokeness and repentance and ask His forgiveness before they are destroyed. Jesus is coming so very soon and so much of the professing church is not even close to ready…they are too busy promoting themselves. satan disguises himself as an angel of light, be not deceived!!!!

  10. Lafe says:

People of God: These people are con artists pure and simple deceiving the gullible who want to be fooled into thinking that they are part of some God blessed ministry and that, if they support this foolishness, they too will be blessed beyond measure.
Their hearts are full of covetousness and larcency and that is why they respond to similar spirits or such lies and swamp bubble stories such as Jacobs rants about.
Like attracts like. They are deluded and go from delusion to delusion because they have rejected truth and God has given them over to a seared conscience. They are in it for the money…nothing else matters. Soul winning is a convenient cover for their money operations.
Flee such merchandisers of the saints of God…flee…flee…flee and rebuke them whenever and wherever possible. Do not let their lies remain un troubled. Contend for the Faith!

the list of tactics and books from false teachers is endless. And the list is expanding at an exponential rate.
I was just reading some good teaching about angeology at http://www.svchapel.org/resources/theology-lessons
and criteria for good shepherds at

    http://www.deceptioninthechurch.com/ditc29-1.html

It reminded me of all the years I spent reading books by my beloved enchanters such as John G. Lake and a thousand others, or chasing psychology experts every time I had a problem; Minerth/Meier for solutions to love and relationships or Neil Anderson’s Freedom in Christ seminars for spiritual warfare techniques. It was like I was travelling two parellel roads at the same time and the Lord had to remove me through ill health, set me aside and slowly teach me that when I had a problem I could search the Scriptures for a solution. I didn’t have to rely on a myriad of false teachings. I still find myself untwisting all the knots that were woven into the fabric of my thinking by these false teachers, but the Holy Spirit is patient and persistent.
1 John 2:26-28 (New International Version)
26I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. 27As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.
28And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming.

  12. S.B says:

OH!MY,You have to break through this evilvortex people with mighty shouts of warfare or all your cheques are goung to bounce!!!! What a bunch of baloney. In the States so many are reeling from having lost their homes, their jobs trying to start over and these guys are whining about their precious “ministries”. I can only pray God will shut them down and pull the plug on their “media” platform. This is rotten fruit….. see Ezekiel 34
    Isaiah 56:10-12
10His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
11Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
12Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.

  13. Grant says:

Is a vortex as powerful as a portal? Maybe if a paradigm shifts, a portal could squash the vortex through revivalists who converge Heaven and Earth through their impartation of encounters in the atmosphere.

    Carolyn,

Here’s another useful page, this time about the tricks of faith-healers:

  15. Ruitje says:

Chrystal, I just visited Elijahlist (the home of the false prophets) and saw this article from Chuck Pierce…

    http://www.elijahlist.com/words/display_word/8962

This man works with Peter Wagner (Cindy Jacobs works with him too) and they believe they are the new wineskin. But what they don’t know is that they may seem to be a new wineskin with new wine, but the wine inside is not the new wine but the old wine: the old wine from satan, the liar. The wine of gnosticism.

It is so sad that people follow these false shepherds. And interesting in this article from Pierce is the begging for money. They come up with new plans, new revelations to sell their ‘ministry’ and get money. Just like the car industry has to develope a new model every year to keep on selling their stuff. Ministry is big business, it’s all about money.

Hope they repent in time before they meet the real SHEPHERD.

  16. WatEenZooitje says:

Hmmm, this is so sarcastic indeed. Look….These people are selling books, having expensive seminars on Spiritual Warfare or Taking your place in God’s Kingdom. Well, one of those subjects is how to defeat and withstand satan and demons. So, how could they be attacked by the forces of evil if they are teaching overcoming theology. If that would work, some 4 demon vortexes would not be of a big problem right. It is clear, these vortexes are not demons but obviously the more common economical crisis. And instead of preaching God’s word with soberity and being content with what you have, they still somehow want to fool the people that if you give to them, you directly give to God. So, the money which you actually must use to support your family, is urged to be given to them so that God can reward you with prosperity, health and spiritual power. Hmmm, seems like a lottery to me.

  17. Ruitje says:

@Wateenzooitje, it’s not a lotery but a pyramid-game. Give them money and than you get blessed. But the problem is that only the one at the top of the pyramid gets the money, and the rest is fooled by those liars. It’s the same strategy and you see it also happening with properity preachers like Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen, Crefflo Dollar, Murdock and many more. It’s interesting that the so called ‘charismatic warfare’ people are using the same prosperity gospel today. All the false teachings are coming togeteher. Even Todd Bentley and Rick Joyner, the prophetic/apostolic movement, are using the prosperity gospel: sow a seed and you get financial blessings.

  18. Carolyn says:

Thanks for the link. Only a wide-eyed, Pentecostal groupie born and raised could fully relate. I read every book I could on healing, believed every story no matter how wild and seldom tested anything.
It’s how I got myself into some pretty weird situations. Like the time someone from our church had no where to live so her and her 3 boys came and stayed in our basement apartment. She was into spiritual warfare full time and tried to take over our lives and our household with her Christian witchcraft. As long as I went along with her wild stories about seeing demons over territories and buildings and behind people’s lives, stories about her breaking curses in people’s lives and the success stories of her prayers that manipulated the demons and stopped disasters, she was fine, but when she couldn’t get me to annoint my doors and windows with oil, and when I said that I believed praising God was 90% of overcoming the enemy in our lives, she began to shake violently, screamed at me that I was undermining her and retreated with her 3 boys for 3 days into her basement quarters. That was the occasion when I went down on my knees and asked the Lord what I had done wrong. His answer was simply “test the spirits”. I could write an entire essay on my 3 months with her. She tolerated me, was nice to my face, but what she was saying to my friends was a totally different story. One day I had enough and told her to pack up her things and leave. All the chaos left with her.
I relate that story because I think it is what happens in the lives of charismatics/Pentecostals…when life becomes too ordinary. They dabble in occult methods to varying degrees. In this case she was so over the top that it made my own dabbling child’s play.
At first, it was a bit deflating when I lost that wide eyed, childish expectancy for the “miracles” and “healings” that gave my life that supernatural edge that other boring Christians didn’t have. However, I never had enough appetite for the deeper things of God until I lost that supernatural edge. Now I prefer the “meat” instead of the milk. My path has become singular. And if God chooses to bless me with a miracle, it is nothing in comparison with his powerful, amazing Word that exceeds all my expectations and desires for life and hope and fulfilment. When you sense “truth” in your spirit it is much more satisfying than the hocus pocus of supernaturalism.

  19. Bill says:

    2 Peter 2:1-3
“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.” (KJV)

“And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you:”

This text is unfolding before our very eyes.

Lord, I pray that you give your true church wisdom and discernment in these deceitful days.

  20. Kandice says:

Carolyn ~ I cannot begin to tell you how much I can relate to what you shared. You said it all so well! Having that “supernatural edge” was so very exciting because it made God feel so alive and real. It was shocking to discover that what had masqueraded as the truth was actually false. But how wonderful it was to then discover the true riches that are to be found in God’s Word, which is living and active! How marvelous and merciful our redeemer is to those of us who unwittingly were lead astray.
Also, I’d just like to mention that I have met Cindy Jacobs and witnessed her in action. I feel pretty certain that she is not just trying to pull a con job, but that she is just as deceived as all those who are following her. The supernatural experiences these people are talking about are really happening because they have opened themselves up to demonic activity by seeking the wrong things. Their false teachings must absolutely be exposed, but we should also be praying that they will see their error, repent, and be delivered from the grip of the evil one.

  21. Mike Larsen says:

The fact that they would equate their ministry to something that Gabriel would be sent to give them a message about is amazing. Gabriel only showed up for HUGE announcements, such as Mary being told she would give birth to the Christ and Elizabeth when she would give birth to John the Baptist. And Gabriel was also the messenger to Daniel concerning the end of days. Gabriel is always the messenger of God for MAJOR events and I HIGHLY doubt he’d be sent for this ministry. Gabriel’s visits are few but ALWAYS of incredible importance for all of mankind. This GI gibberish doesn’t seem to fit that profile.

    In His service,

    Mike

  22. Ruitje says:

@Mike Larsen, I am not surprised Jacob’s was thinking it was Gabriel.

I know a charismatic organisation that thinks that they are like a company of Mary’s and are ‘pregnant’ to give birth to the second coming of Jesus. It’s an organisation that is active in many countries. The ones who do not believe that and will not go with this kind of thinking (the organisation believes a special prophetic word) will be cut off from them so God’s plan will not be stopped. Cindy Jacobs is one of the advisors for this organisation (and Peter Wagner and Rick Joyner and many more). So I am not surprised that Jacob’s thought she was seeing Gabriel.

Here is a part of the prophetic word that was given:

Lord, I pray over …. (name of ministry) just as Gabriel spoke over Mary, and said that the Spirit of the Lord and the Power of the Lord will come upon you, and something will be born of you that will release the Kingdom of God into this earth. I pray Lord, not just the Mary of Bethany anointing, but Mary — Miriam (“Mary” in Hebrew), the mother of Yeshua, to intercede as she interceded to bring Yeshua into the earth the first time. You will receive the power of the Holy Spirit to bring Him into the earth the second time. I pray for the Spirit and the power of the Lord to come upon you as it came upon Miriam, and you will become pregnant with the vision of the Kingdom of God invading this earth. You will become pregnant, not with the first coming of Jesus, but with the second coming of Jesus.

I was active in this organisation in a national group in my country (leading a homegroup and teaching groups in different cities). But I left them when they came up with this strange story that a prophet told them (I already new I would leave because I saw that many teachings were wrong and they were part of the Dominion-theology). The whole organisation in every country had to follow this prophetic word. When I received a letter with that prophetic word that was given at an international conference I knew it was time to go.

  23. Ruitje says:

Another word from Cindy Jacobs about economics and business. God has to have mercy and send salvation and an awakening to save the economy…
She even talks about Chuck Pierce, to confirm that her word is right…
“I ran it by Chuck Pierce and he said that it fits with what he has been hearing, only more specific on the economic side.”
False prophets will help false prophets.

    http://www.elijahlist.com/words/display_word/8968

  24. Carolyn says:

Kandice: I praise God with you for a merciful redeemer to, as you said, “those of us who are unwittingly led astray”. He is so faithful to bring a stray sheep in who is wandering around in the desert of charisma, still listening to his voice but unable to discern properly how to isolate his voice from all the other voices that are speaking to it. But we have to make that decision ourselves to “silence” the other voices. That’s when his voice becomes crystal clear.
I also agree with you that most of these people believe their delusions. In fact they love their delusions. And many will never make that choice to leave them because they are so intoxicated by them. They have an unspiritual mind that makes it impossible to hear the voice of the shepherd. The “other” voices are encouraging them to become high on their own self exaltation.
Here is a verse that warns of the false nature of their “super spirituality”.
    Col. 2:
18Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. 19He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.
If they don’t take warning from that…they aren’t ready to listen!

  25. David says:

It’s the same strategy and you see it also happening with properity preachers like Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen, Crefflo Dollar, Murdock and many more.

To be completely honest, I always though Crefflo Dollar was a kid’s cartoon character because he’s alsways on TV about 6am! No I’m serious. What sort of “prophet” would call himself “Crefflo Dollar”?

  26. Ruitje says:

“What sort of “prophet” would call himself “Crefflo Dollar”?

A prosperity preacher who serves one god in his life will give himself that name. And this god is Mammon.

  27. Mike Larsen says:

Ruitje, if it were up to me, I’d be calling out the name of the organization for the simple reason that Paul and Peter set the example that calling out names is a part of exposing liars, false teachers, false doctrine, etc. Titus tells us that their mouths must be stopped.

Last night I was teaching my class on the book of Daniel and we are now up to chapter 10. I used other Scriptures to emphasize the point about spiritual warfare as seen in that chapter when the angelic messenger of God was delayed 21 days because of having to fight with the prince of Persia, a demon of great power. That led to discussion about the fact that we don’t wrestle against flesh and blood and also that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God (see Eph. 6.12 and 2 Cor. 10.3-5). I liken these false teachers, organizations, doctrines, etc., to arsonists running around trying to set fire to everyone’s soul and we have to point out the arsonists so that no one else gets burned, so to speak.

For that reason, I’d call them out by name as a warning to others but it’s certainly your prerogative to do as you wish. I’m just glad that you were delivered from that heretical rubbish.

    In His service,

    Mike

  28. Ruitje says:

@Mike Larsen, I emailed Chrystal about it. I did leave the organisation not so long ago, that’s why I was waiting to give the name and many people I know are still in that ministry and they will not understand the things that are going on. But you are right… so here is the name.: Aglow. Maybe I will write more later.
