Revelation 16:12: (NASB)
12 And the sixth angel poured out his bowl upon the great river, the Euphrates; and its water was dried up, that the way might be prepared for the kings from the east.

I found a very interesting article at Joel Rosenberg’s Weblog entitled, “EUPHRATES RIVER DRYING UP: New York Times notes connection to Book of Revelation and the End Times.”

We really are so close to the Lord’s Return…we should be watching and waiting and preparing….
Thanks for sharing this.

It’s a shame that posts like these get little attention from even among the people who call themselves the remnant.
Perhaps the drawing near of Jesus’ Return is causing even the sound believers to hesitate on recognizing the significance of this story.
It’s tragic that more are interested in hearing the latest oddities at churches rather than remaining faithful to Him and looking for His appearing.

Carol, I agree with you. So many who profess Christ are now turning to the ‘amil’ view, which is so confusing and hard to grasp. Christ is coming again, His word says so. He says He will come, and we will meet Him in the air, He will rule and reign for a thousand years, etc. …how can you not interpret that literally? {Please, I do NOT wish to debate ANYONE who holds to an amil view!!}
It is essential that we be on guard, watching and praying. May God fill all with the sense of urgency of time and suddenness of His coming.
It is later than we think…

Yes, indeed we need to not only be watching for the signs of the apostasy, but we need to prepare our hearts and make sure we are truly ready for the Master’s Return. We don’t want to be caught off guard, or like the foolish virgins who did not have their oil and when they went for oil, returned and the door was closed to them.

I agree guys. The days are growing more and more dark. I don’t get the recent mass appeal of the amil position myself. Scripture is clear and we’re seeing the End coming, to HIS glory! The downside is being a witness to the sifting and falling away of “Christians” who won’t have Christ rule over them! May the Lord cause us to love Him more and more and be strong and bold for His name sake.

While researching this particular subject, I also found out that the Dead Sea is shrinking, it’s filled with sinkholes and parts of the area are being fenced off because people are getting sunk. With that and the Jordan River is filled with disease since it’s basically shrinking away and being filled with waste. So many of these vital waterways are victims of over population and/or misuse of where the sewage is going.
A stark reality of the times we are living in.
A reminder, the Dead Sea is where Sodom and Gomorrah once existed!

Probably where some joker I saw on TV this morning with “Free From Evil Oil” that were given out to those who gave money to his ministry. I never saw him before, but he was doing a “faith healing’ on some woman, laying hands on her and she was able to hear out of the ear that he laid his hands on.
He’s a big guy and wears a mullet….a new age Benny Hinn…
But I didn’t know there was an anointed oil that keeps one free from evil….
ugh…

I appreciate your posts on this subject, guys. I am in agreement with you. Sometimes I tell my colleagues that I am afraid the ‘church’ at the time of the rature may not recognize that the Christians leave!
They give me the rolling eyes look but I believe I may be correct. Look at what is passing for church these days, …John Crowder, WOF, EC, Relevant Rick, New Mystics… I’m not sure that too many of these types of congregations would be affected by the rapture.
What do you guys think? Are the signs all around us yet no one is noticing because we are entertained into a stupor? We cannot get our faces out of our ipods long enough to drive much less look to the signs of His catching away of the remnant…

It’s quite true that so many “Christians” are so comfortable with this world that they are not even looking for His Return to happen any time soon. so many think it’s not going to happen for another 5 0 years…but they are not discerning the signs of the times.
I don’t know why so many want to be “entertained” when the walk is the narrow way, and it means not living like the world lives. We are to be set apart for God’s pleasure, not God entertaining us and making things pleasant for us here on earth.
People want enough of Jesus to be saved from the eternal fires of hell, but they are too busy looking to “Egypt” when they should be looking towards the “Promised Land”!
Many are called, but few are chosen.
