According to an August 11 article in The Ledger, Todd Bentley has filed for separation from his wife. Here is the article:
Todd Bentley, the evangelist who has led the Florida Outpouring revival here in Lakeland since April 2, has filed for separation from his wife and might not return to the revival, according to his former local spokesperson, Lynne Breidenbach. She said Bentley made the announcement to his staff this afternoon. Bentley and his wife, Shonnah, have two daughters and a son and are Canadian citizens. Under Canadian law, separation is a first step in divorce proceedings and takes nine months. Bentley and his wife have been in marriage counseling for several months, Breidenbach said. She called the situation “very sad” but insisted it “doesn’t invalidate what Todd did” at the revival.
Breidenbach, who said her contract with Bentley’s Fresh Fire ended today, said it is not clear whether Bentley will make further appearances at the revival. About two weeks ago, Bentley announced he would leave the revival on Aug. 23 in order to resume his traveling evangelistic work. The Fresh Fire Ministries Web site indicates that a September appearance by Bentley in England has been postponed. Stay tuned for further information. Source.
If this is true, then as a leader, which Bentley claims to be, he should be without blame before almighty God before he can even think of leading others. If he can’t hold onto his home life, how can he be expected to be responsible for leading any kind of revival.
The situation with Bentley continues to get more bizarre. What is especially troubling is that no matter what Bentley does, or how unscriptural it is, he will still be idolized by the masses who follow him. It’s as if Bentley can do no wrong in their eyes.
People are decieved on purpose. With God’s Word readily available to us, there is no excuse for anyone to be led about by this false prophet. It’s like God’s Word says, the people in these times will not endure sound doctrine. They just don’t want it. The proof is in the pudding. It’s right there for them, they only need to accept it.

why in the world are you so much in a hurry to
judge this man when you have no idea of waht
is going on in his life. You do not know the
circumstances or the details so hear what God’s
Word says…..”judge not lest YE be judged.” You
are no exception to God’s laws.

Todd is a good friend, but more importantly, he is a friend of God. I’ve met very few people in my life who are hungrier for God and will take extended periods of time just to seek Him. God has entrusted him with an extraordinary outpouring for a reason—He can trust him to do whatever He says, regardless of the opinions of others. He is bold—amazingly bold. The miracles are legitimate and increasing. The church of America has asked for a great revival. God wonderfully placed this move in a package that few would have expected, just to see if we’re as hungry as we say we are.”
Recent response to the above answer:”How in God’s name can you endorse Todd Bentley?” This is my response:
Have you spent time with Todd? Do you know him? Have you watched him with his wife? Or have you seen how he treats his kids? Have you spent any time with his staff? Have you been to his ministry? Has he been to yours? Have you laid hands on him and prayed? Has he laid hands on you and prayed? Have you grieved over tragedy together? Have you celebrated victory together? Has he sought your counsel? Has he traveled a great distance just to meet with you privately for advice? Have you ever received his counsel? Have you been in the room when God has showed up on him, and used him in stunning miracles? Have you seen him operate in the word of knowledge or the prophetic? Have you met with his counsel of elders? Have you personally benefited from his gift? Has he benefited from your gift and ministry? Has he ever honored you for who you are in God? Has he partnered with you as a friend? Have you sacrificed for his welfare, or that of his family? Have you sought God with him? Have you ever worshipped the Lord with him?
I didn’t think so. I have. And I’ll continue to support those who I have walked with in life and ministry. He’s my friend. More importantly, God calls him friend. And if you and I were ever friends in that level, and people hated you and turned against you, and started web pages to tear down your ministry, and criticized you to your friends, and wrote against you in Christian magazines, and criticized you on the radio and wrote emails to other conference speakers and authors, I’d still be your friend.
By the way – criticism in the form of a question is not a question. But to respond to your statement, “How in God’s name can you endorse Todd Bentley?” It’s easy. I do it in God’s name.

OK, then if you are the closest thing many… MANY… perplexed and hurt children of God have to that cat, then riddle us this? Why was there no rebuttal to the dead raising controversy? Why were names blacked out of hospital forms if indeed contact was encouraged for verification? Why is it dude can talk a talk in public but can’t walk a walk in private?
I’m not hating at all, but I have received countless e-mails and hate mails pontificating the wiles of Bentley and how he was obviously used of the enemy because of how badly things were handled… and more importantly, how badly people were handled that believed in him.
It’s just too bad he won’t answer those questions himself. And careful, before you two the company line, you never, ever know who exactly you are talking to in the blogosphere, so if you dare to reply – be honest.

Mate, one word…. Bam! Jesus loves Todd as much as everyone else in this world. All the pressure placed upon his life and the persecution. Ahhh! I love this guy, I don’t care what people say, God chose Todd and layed down his life for him.
Todd, we are praying for you mate. Greetings from Australia bro. God has used you to impact our lives and you are doing awesome job. Stay strong..
