Copeland’s Ministry Benefits Friends and Family

The Daily Breeze posted an Associated Press article about Kenneth Copeland that asks the question, “Preaching Prosperity:  Who Benefits?”  From what is divulged in the article, those who benefit most from Copeland’s prosperity message is Copeland, his family members, and their closest friends.

It’s a lengthy article, but well worth the read.  It gives insight into Copeland’s vast wealth.  Click the source link to read the article in its entirety.

NEWARK, Texas – Here in the gentle hills of north Texas, televangelist Kenneth Copeland has built a religious empire teaching that God wants his followers to prosper.

Over the years, a circle of Copeland’s relatives and friends have done just that, The Associated Press has found. They include the brother-in-law with a lucrative deal to broker Copeland’s television time, the son who acquired church-owned land for his ranching business and saw it more than quadruple in value, and board members who together have been paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for speaking at church events.   Source.

  1. There is more to the story than most realize here. Copeland is standing up for a cause that could affect us all if the wrong decision is made. Grassley should have began with the IRS investigation which Copeland has INVITED. There is still no evidence of wrong doing by any of the 6 organizations involved. Grassley is pushing the limits here.

  2. In reference to Kenneth Copeland’s great wealth, I want to point out some things. First of all, there is nothing hidden. No fraud. No manipulation. His methods, offerings, allocation of money, etc are all out in the open. His organizations are open for scruitiny, and get a passing grade, with solid paper trails.
Secondly, this man and his immediate family have taken biblical teachings and adhered to them 100% to the best of their ability for decades and decades. Their great wealth is a testimony to the authenticity of the biblical principles they teach and live by. They give abundantly and tithe faithfully. It would be more strange and a sign of wrong teaching if they taught financial prosperity principles and were poor!
Not only are they wealthy, but they are HEALTHY, STRONG, young for their age- other biblical principles they teach and adhere to include healing, spiritual wisdom flowing into every area of life, etc.
My family has benefitted greatly from the Copeland’s ministry, in terms of scriptural teaching, lifestyle principles for wisdom in finances, lifestyle, health, faith. I really appreciate what they give to us, and in adopting the principles they have taught (that I could have found myself in the Bible if I had had the dicipline to do it!) my life is better!
Thank you for taking the time to hear my side of it. It’s appreciated.

  3. Grassley could have gotten all of the information from an IRS investigation, but would have had to kept the information confidential. Copeland requested the investigation, and this would also protect the confidentiality of his donors. We should all be concerned with this, and how it will affect us all if the wrong decision is made.

  4. Grassley is certainly out of line here. And his tactics do not help his cause. I am with you Stark – I don’t understand why he didn’t use typical protocol to begin with. The details he has requested leave me with many lingering questions.

  5. It is interesting that Copeland is gathering more and more support as this situation drags on. However the media still presents a one sided angle of this story. Copeland’s defense is solid and his fight will pay off hopefully. There is no need for one senator to be given that kind of power.

  6. This situation has dragged on long enough. Grassley has now resorted to an nepotism angled attack on Copeland. It seems apparent that Grassley’s camp is grasping at straws to cling to with no success. The media of course has not made much mention of the support Copeland has picked up in recent weeks. It’s time for this to come to an end and our Congressmen go get their priorities back in order.

  7. Agreed. The Grassley “investigation” is wearing thin and running out of steam. The nepotism ploy is just the latest absurdity. Retort on this is building – from the public, supporters, ministries totally unconnected with the WOF message and even within his own party.

Anyone else wonder about the status of those two who have divvied up their records en toto? Mr. Grassley’s got what he said he wanted from them. So, what’s the result? The IRS turns this around in a few months. He’s stalled with the ball in his court now. Why? Verdict please. Innocent or guilty? Cleared or smeared? Either produce the mud or dry up. Instead, they are left dangling on the circus wire.

Judicial process in the US is expected to give a ruling, especially when the media spotlight has been drawn to it. It is no wonder some of the group have chosen not to be drawn into the show. We now see it has made little difference whether you complied or not. Everyone is still left in that cage Mr. Grassley shoved them in with everyone gawking and poking at them. The holdouts were right.
